2013 Free Dining Watch

There has so far been no general public free dining offer including any dates in 2013 at all.

As far as I can tell, only 2011 and 2012 had any general public dates in March.

What are you talking about?

FD is being offered via pin codes and bounceback offers for 2013. We have no way of knowing whether Disney will offer it to the GP during the year of 2013, but I've certainly been under the assumption that S/P/D will be the new GP dining discount. Stating there is NO free dining for the year is a) incorrect and b) not something we will know until the year is up.

I was answering a question in regards to FD, but even stated that it is questionable as to whether it will be released for the upcoming year.

Ok, I get it now they "may" be phasing out free dining for the SPD offer..Ahha, I get it finally! Aaarcher86, is right as I am a person who is a receiver of free dining due to my mother bouncing back.

Yes, there were numerous assumptions that Stay Play and Dine is the "new" general public discount. Looks to be the case for the first quarter of the year, but nothing can be certain.

So, if there will be no free dining what is SPD?
And I wasn't clear, I guess, but we didn't stay with free dining in March. We booked our trip in March for free dining in September.

SPD = Stay, Play, Dine.

It's a discounted dining/ticket plan - adults pay children prices for dining and tickets. It's better than full price, but not as nice of a dining discount as FD.

If a discount on dining is offered on the dates we will be at disney, whether FD or SPD, would I be able to apply the discount if I have already booked our trip and bought the dining plan?

You sure can. As long as you've got the requirements for the trip - usually a nightly/ticket requirement for a certain number of days.

Also bearing in mind that they only allow so many rooms at each resort for each discount, so you may have to switch rooms or even resorts.

For example - I booked my trip at POR in a standard room, but had to switch to a garden view when I applied the S/P/D offer because the standards either weren't being included or were booked up for the discount.

Skellinton, We are still hoping for FD for Sept. also!! This will be our 5th trip and have gotten the fd for the last 3 (our 1st trip they didn't have dp at all), We booked with dining but with at least 10 everytime we go the fd discount really helps out!! Keeping my fingers crossed for release in March for fall!! :confused3

We already have free dining. We booked bounceback again. My only issue is now we want the regular dining plan so we plan to upgrade to a moderate. I'm assuming some how I can do this since they will be getting a extra 1000.00 from me.

You can upgrade just your dinning plan you pay the difference between the dinning plans that's what I do because we stay the values and only get the quick service DDP so I pay the difference between the quick service and regular dinning plan

Subbing as I am another waiting on Sept FB, I have the FD pin code for from Jan to Mar 7th but that does not help me, might have to use the other part of it with the up to 35% off code, but waiting to book till Feb.

Can you not have the regular dining plan if you book a value resort?

in the UK,we do not have any fd for values.
it used to be qsdp for mods and ddp for deluxe.
however, fd is now qsdp for both mods and deluxes.:confused3

Just a rumor at this point. Nothing announced, unless you have a UK offer that says that?
