2013 dates

I believe DCL needs to have a large variety of options in order to survive longevity on the west coast.

There are many itiniaries that can be combined to create an interest in their cruises.

1) 3 & 4 night cruise to San Diego, Catalina and Ensanada. (Mar 1 to May 15)

2) 7 night Pacific coast to San Diego, San Fran and Ensanada (Oct 1 to Dec 15)

3) 7 night Mexican Riviera cruises (Jan 15 to Feb 28)

4) 14 night Hawaii repositioning cruises (May 15 & Sep 15)

5) 7 night Alaskan cruises (Jun 1 to Sep 15)

6) 14 night East & West bound Holiday Panama canal cruises (Dec 15 & Dec 30)

I apologize if this has been asked...
When are the 2013 Magic and Wonder itineraries expected to be released? We have a dummy cruise we need to switch over and are anxiously awaiting some West Coast itineraries.
Thank you.

No one knows but DCL and they ain't talkin'. If they follow the recent trend, it may be as late as Spring 2012

I agree with some of your options here - but the current political situation in Mexico is keeping many people from going. The other issue is that with the 3 and 4 day cruises out of So Cal they end up going to the crazy party crowd (I know I'm getting old b/c that used to be my crowd). I'd like to see more Alaska, Hawaii and Pacific Coast options. Also, if DCL had something comparable (and isolated) to Castaway Cay on the West Coast it would help "sell" these cruises.

I think having some shorter cruise options could help.

I like the idea of the Pacific Coast cruises. Maybe they could go longer before the MR cruises start.

I think more Hawaii cruises would get booked.

ALso maybe try a larger variety of shorter or longer cruises.

Longer Alaska cruises definitely.

I'm praying for the dates to be released tomorrow, a week after the Fantasy and Dream. I'm probably wrong though.

Also hoping the med cruise is making a comeback, sailing from Barcelona again, NOT Civitavecchia. Just saying. :goodvibes

I couldn't agree with this more. We actually changed our MR to a Oct 2012 PC cruise when they released dates last year and I was really excited. The MR cruises just don't appeal to me as much as the PC cruises. Of course, then our school district finally released it's calendar and our October break is a week later than it has been, so I'm waiting to see what's available March 2013. I'm a former teacher and my husband is also a teacher (in a different district than my kids attend), and we believe attendance at school is important, but we just might be pulling our kids out of school for a week.

I would also LOVE to see a west coast version of Castaway Cay. Is that even a remote possibility??

You should work for DCL! I would jump on the PC! Or the Hawaii repo!!

Hello fellow Mancunian :thumbsup2

Just received today an e-mail from my TA that the cruises for the Dream and Fantasy were released.
Duh, they were released a week ago! :confused3

I was already thinking months ago that she wasn't the greatest when she told me that DCL doesn't have special themed dining nights. :lmao:
Won't be using her anymore.

Totally agree with you!!!!!!

Except I would recommend one Panama Canal cruise that is round trip from LA so there would be no flying involved.

I would do MX Riviera during Spring Break season (March/April) when people are looking for warm waters and lovely beaches AND can take a week off with the kids.

I would like to see Hawaii RT cruises from LA the way the Sapphire Princess and Golden Princess are doing (I know this is in the works for Disney already).

The LESS flying with the kids the better!

The only thing I'd add here would be a few more Hawaii cruises, but during the summer, so I don't have to take my daughter out of school for two weeks!

Count me as another one who would love to Disney explore 3 and 4 night cruises out of LA (and not just because I would love to see the Wonder in my harbor every week). It seems as if Disney has truly created a wonderful vacation opportunity by combining a short cruise with DW stay. DL deserves the same opportunity, especially with all the work being done at DCA. I think there are plenty of people, both in the US and in Asia, New Zealand and Australia, who would love the chance to combine a DL trip with a short Disney cruise.

Yes, that and/or Panama Canal crossing in summer too. All of these awesome and "different" cruises are smack in the middle of the school year. :sad2: Unless you have preschoolers or homeschool, it's really hard to miss 2 weeks of school.

That is why I am considering homeschooloing.....:rotfl2:

I am trying to be patient because other lines have not released summer 2013 itineraries. Not working so well but I am trying :rolleyes1

I have resigned myself to spring 2012 so I will not have expectations. The anticipation is nerve racking :guilty:
