Just finished the last book in the serious I have to say it was a lot of fun but my own challenge is what do I read next
OH, ok, now I know who he is...LOL!OK, so I don't feel so bad now!
He's Briana's husband. She met him at Claire's house in the "present" time. I think he was raised by some rector or something. We knew in the book that he was orphaned but they never really explain what happened. Roger is able to travel back into the past with Briana after they were married and that's a bit of a mystery but this novella sort of explains it.
Goal 72
#31 The Sanctuary by Ted Dekker
From the book jacket:
Drawn into a terrifying game of life and death----the lives of Renee & Danny are in each other's hands. And the body count will not stop at two.
Ok, so I've been a longtime fan of Ted Dekker, but this book just did not work for me. The characters just didn't seem real. The female was supposed to be OCD but compared to other books I've read with OCD characters, she just seemed scatterbrained, lol. And obviously written from a man's perspective, she didn't seem to have any 'womanly' traits.....
Plot was too 'loose' meaning why are they doing this & how did this happen??
I give this one 0 stars & would not recommend it.
Next up: The Light Between Oceans
I'm about 100 pages in and thoroughly engrossed in the story so far. Can't wait to read more this afternoon!![]()
Finished Shopaholic Takes Manhattan last night. Becky Bloomwood is starting to annoy me. Now I'm going to read Under the Dome before the TV Show starts.
Goal: 52 books this year.
#32 down and done.
Dear Mr. Darcy - A Retelling of Pride and Prejudice by Amanda Grange is indeed a retelling of P&P, recounted in a series of letters to and from the principals of the Jane Austen original. I'm a huge fan of Austen and I LOVE these prequels, retellings and sequels. I've read several by several different authors and have enjoyed them all.
Note to portia9: I reviewed the previous listing you so generously provided, and I didn't see this author listed. I hope she's new to you and that you enjoy this format.
Queen Colleen

48. Hide by Lisa Gardner
From Goodreads: It was a case that haunts Bobby Dodge to this daythe case that nearly killed him and changed his life forever. Now, in an underground chamber on the grounds of an abandoned Massachusetts mental hospital, the gruesome discovery of six mummified corpses resurrects his worst nightmare: the return of a killer he thought dead and buried. Theres no place to run. . . . Bobbys only lead is wrapped around a dead womans neck. Annabelle Granger has been in hiding for as long as she can remember. Her childhood was a blur of new cities and assumed identities. But whator whoher family was running from, she never knew. Now a body is unearthed from a grave, wearing a necklace bearing Annabelles name, and the danger is too close to escape. This time, shes not going to run. You know he will find you. . . .
The second in the DD Warren series. I liked this one. It had a few possibilities in how it could go and kept you guessing.
I will check it out.
I am currently reading books by Sarah Waldock which I think you might enjoy. I am halfway through the first one of the "Bow Street Mysteries" and as far as I know there are three of them. The main character is Jane Fairfax from Emma. They are:
Death of a Fop
Jane and the Bow St Runner
Jane and the Opera Dancer
They cost me a whopping $1.50 each![]()
