Interesting video!! This is still an option for a place to stay next year. We'll visit the BC /YC this year to see how we like it compared to the Poly.

Tough to compare. If you love seeing the castle and using the monorail, you won't like Y&B. If a pool is a biggy, we win hands down. Walking to Epcot and using the boat for Hollywood Studios is a big plus. Y&B rooms are smaller than the Poly.

The Poly and Y&B are very very different. We're one building, the Poly has bunches of buildings. I'm a BC lover but I also love the GF. Not a fan of the Poly or Contemporary.

Wifey just wanted to let you know if you leave off the first 0 in your mobile number and put +44 in its place it should accept it on booking forms etc. If it doesn't you can add it when you check in if the resort need it to txt you to tell you anything. Your room will almost certainly be ready as you are arriving at tea-time :) Hope this helps. We are always absolutely knackered on arrival day too but have found a swim in the pool and quick service dinner get us close to reasonable bedtime the first night (9pm if we're lucky :rotfl:). Mind you we are awake with the larks the next day or possibly before them but it's lovely watching the "world" awaken :goodvibes

Thanks so much for responding to this- I now have more questions than answers...

So if Poolside Gifts is gone- is there anyplace poolside to purchase noodles, or sand toys (other than HH meals) or sunscreen or sunglasses? Are these items (still) available at the Marketplace?

I know the tubes have been freely available without a rental cost recently. Wonder how this will go in the middle of summer. Not sure where to rent them now, though.

Are the poolside lockers still around? Where do you get a key?

How about life vests?

Looks like someone is going to have some homework to do on the SAB post when I get more info.

I probably can only answer a few of you q's...
I did see sunscreen and glasses at the marketplace. I did not notice other swimming items.
The pool was pretty busy when we were there and you just had to wait for a tube. They seemed to have a lot and if there were more it probably would really jam up the lazy river. There always seem to be opening up. What would be helpful for those who are done to pull them out of the water onto the side. Otherwise, you had to get in and swim to get one. The kids have an easier time getting on when they are near the sides.

I honestly didn't notice the lockers because we didn't need.

The life vests were hanging on a rack just near the lazy river on the HH side.

Maybe the store is somewhere else but we did not need it so weren't looking.

Maybe Teena knows the answers??

Loved the video - definitely got me even more excited!

Teena - always told you that you are the "star" of BC!

Thanks for the feedback on the Target gift cards- we'll have to consider this....we'll be over in that area tonight, I think...

Thank you, for your reply we will still be in MCO at 9pm and by the time we board the bus and make it to the resort I think that it will be at least 10pm...a very long day for us (2am UK equivalent!) I doubt we will be able to stay awake to grab a bite to eat just freshen up and fall into bed for a while. Funny thing but we never sleep in in our first full day of our vacation, don't quite know why!!

Yes, that's why we are so hesitant. We love staying at the Poly. I was trying to talk my DH into staying at the BC this year but in the end we decided since this might be our last stay at Poly before the DVC construction we would just stay with the Poly, which I do love by the way. The convenience of walking to EPCOT is very appealing!!!

Here is the info we have had about the in-room coffee makers for awhile. Some of the resorts have switched over to Joffrey's coffee pods. Does anyone know if this has taken place at the Yacht & Beach Club yet?

What kind of coffeemakers are in the resort rooms?

As of October 2011, the drip coffee makers in the BC and YC resort rooms were replaced.

The regular resort rooms and club level rooms (including Deluxe Rooms) now have the Cuisinart Double Pod Machines:

Thanks for the photos Rorey, Cinderumbrella and MickeyT!

Here is what I believe are in the rooms currently. Anyone who has been there more recently, please correct this info if it is wrong:

All regular (non-club level) rooms: Cuisinart Pods

All standard club level rooms, all views (standard meaning non-suite), including Deluxe Club Level Rooms: Cuisinart Pods

Suites (1 BR, 2 BR, VP, Presidential Suites): Keurig K-cup

Beach Club Villas- Mr. Coffee-type makers (4 cup for studio, 10 cup for 1BR, 2BR)

I feel like a huge CHEAT! Our upcoming October stay is across the way... :clown: because I waited too long to come to my senses that we missed the Epcot area. (Of course, I keep making periodic calls to see if something's opened up at BC. I just need a widely-circulated false report of F&W getting cancelled then I'll have that coveted BC reservation in my hot little hands. :lovestruc )

:offtopic: But need to do a little happy dance:banana:
My grade book and plan book were just turned into the office
Exams have all been scored, bundled and sent to storage
Classroom is clean.
Desk is empty:cool1:
School is out for summer:dance3:

Oh Buzzy, you are quite the comedian:rotfl:

I am still teaching through the 27th! Wife and kids are done though

My students will be so much smarter

C'mon Joffrey's!!!

Best cup at the resort?

Of course France's bakery is close by

Ah, coffee!!! My favorite subject!

:surfweb:

Have you seen this from the Other Useful Info post on page 1?

I don't "do" Nescrape! Is there anyplace at the resort where I can get a REAL cup of coffee???

REAL COFFEE ALERT!!!

Ale and Compass is located just off the Yacht Club Lobby.

In the morning, breakfast items are available like a DECENT cup of coffee and tea, pastries, an assortment of cereal and fruit. This location also serves as a refill station for your refillable mug until 11 or noon.
