Hello! Can someone tell me if we see an at HS boat at YC, it stops at S/D then HS? If we see an EP boat it stops at BW then EP? Or does one boat do the whole circuit? I'm confused?!?

There are several Friendship boats that make the trip from Epcot to HS. Along the way, they stop at the resorts. Here's the route: Epcot, boardwalk, Y&B, Swan & Dolphin, Studios. Then they reverse the route on the way back: Studios, S&D, Y&B, Boardwalk, Epcot. All boats stop at each place. It takes about 25-30 mins to get from park to park.

How long is the wait for Animation Academy? Haven't done that before, but would like to in July!!

We waited for a class to finish so it took about 20 minutes. We didn't mind because the building has wonderful air conditioning!

Thanks Nannette! I got the newsletter too tonight & have been drooling over it popcorn::! I'm getting more & more excited about FW! Have you ever gone to the classes or tastings or senses events? They look really cool!

Yes 2011 DD and I went for 10 days to F&W. We attended several of the events. Party for Your Senses Wine View Seating, Sweet Sunday's, Tequila Flight Tasting, Grand Marnier Tasting and 3-D Dessert Party. We tasted wines from most of the booth along with food samplings. Lots of fun and memories that I will remember for years to come made with my daughter!! Nothing like drinking around the world with your daughter!

This year I'm thinking about Sweet Sundays and the Parisian Breakfast... I want to do Kitchen Memories too, but I have the Dolphins in Depth Tour booked that day! I need to email IPO at AKL to book all of the F&W stuff for me, but I have a few months 8/13 is the booking day and they will make all the arrangements..I let them do it all in 2011 and it worked out perfect!!

Great and accurate replies from other posters but another tip.

If you don't want to sit through the animation film and tour part you can enter through the Animation Gallery shop. This is the store with all the beautiful Disney movie art. Just walk through the back.

Hi BC and YC lovers!!

Can anyone give me the pro's and con's of the BC?

Plusses only from me :)
Teena. If one of your 4 days is a Sunday or Monday stop by and introduce yourself. The lady is epitome of Disney warmth.

I love Illuminations. The feeling of walking over, watching the show and then watching the masses exit is the best. And then just wandering around WS as it shuts down. Then back to the room in less than 10 minutes!

That's a great tip! Thanks!!!

And what you said about Teena, nearly made me tear up. She truly is isn't she??!!!

Those are awesome memories to share with your daughter Nannette! :yay: You two got to do so many cool things together! I'm jealous!

I think the 3D Dessert Party sounds cool, but it's not going on when I'm there. What's Kitchen Memories?

As usual, you've nailed it.

That feeling of walking back over the IG after Illuminations when everyone else is headed for the busses or monorail is super!

To me, Teena truly exemplifies the feel of Disney and in particular the Beach Club!

The 3D Dessert Party was really cool.. they give 3D glasses to wear and you see Mickey in the fireworks!

Kitchen Memories there are guest chefs and they cook lunch and tell funny stories while they cook for you... wine and food are involved!! It's on a Friday and thats the day I have Dolphins booked and I don't want to change it so I'll probably miss that one! Just means I'll need to plan to go again!!

The best way to book this stuff is to have it all planned out before the booking date and then call first thing the morning of the booking and book whatever you want because things go really fast and you might not get in if you wait!!

Hey all! I just went into work today and found out that BC is one of the handful of "host" hotels/resorts for the big America Academic of Pediatrics Annual Conference at the end of October. This conference is bonkers huge without Disney at its footsteps. Just an FYI for those that are staying during that time. I forgot to look at the dates, but it usually starts around the 21st or 23rd of October. Hopefully things won't be too disturbed.

One of my docs was going to take me to watch his kids, but I have a little princess of my own to take care of. Oh well...we'll just have to take our own vacation next year! :goodvibes

:welcome: to the thread, and thanks so much for the info. Best for the folks going at that time to be prepared and know what's going on.

:thumbsup2

Yes, I love Pandora!! I listen to Walt Disney Radio, and the new one I like is Pink.

Hi BC and YC lovers!! I am a Poly lover but really thinking of staying at BC this year. We're there for 4 nights this time and out of those 4 days we have 3 ADR's (one each day) at Epcot, just one at MK. I like the idea of staying next to Epcot since that is where we will spend the majority of our time. Can anyone give me the pro's and con's of the BC? It's my DH and I and we will be staying at the resort after 4 night on DCL.

:welcome:

I hope you decide to give the BC or YC a shot!!!

:cool1:

For me, location is the main thing- being steps away from EPCOT is wonderful, you will especially appreciate it with your dining plans.

Stormalong Bay is fun for the young and young-at-heart (won't say which one I am...)

Teena and all of the other fantastic, friendly castmembers at the resort!

As others have mentioned, there is not a food court per se, but we have always been able to find plenty to eat, and we really like getting meals "to-go" from one of the World Showcase restaurants and bringing it back to the resort.

One other drawback to the BC is that only about 50% of the rooms have a full balcony. The rest have a small, Juliet balcony that is really only big enough for one person to stand on. The Yacht Club, however, has full balconies for all rooms (except one or two)

Man...I've already started having vacation stress dreams- last night I was at Disney and forgot my camera, and was trying to take pictures of the parks with my cell phone as we were driving away. And last week, I realized we were on the last day of our vacation, and had forgotten to go to SAB, and hadn't really done much besides wander around in the parks. Clearly, I feel like I haven't planned enough for this trip! :lmao:

Those are the exact dreams I have. Mostly forgetting my camera or the charger.

:scared:

We are waiting for our turn in the Animation Academy at DHS. Today is really hot so we have been enjoying the shows and we are taking it slow. We have Fast Passes for toy story at 1:30 and then we are headed to SAB. Chairs in the afternoon have been a little hard to find, but not impossible.

We waited for a class to finish so it took about 20 minutes. We didn't mind because the building has wonderful air conditioning!

Thanks for the update. So who did you draw and how did it come out?

:goodvibes

Sorry for posting and running about the conference in October yesterday! Tried to get the little one to sleep last night and then fell asleep myself. I think those that are there around the 23rd should be fine. From my experience booking my docs at conferences in the past, people don't typically leave that early. People more often stay later instead of coming earlier. Hopefully it's just the resort that's booked and it doesn't really affect anything else. The conference is full days so it may make things quieter during the day!

Now time for some shut eye :)

Dee, we drew Dopey yesterday and Chip today. My drawing was the worst, my husband's was the best, and my dd's were much better than mine. We were given the CM's drawing which was awesome. My husband is a professional artist and designs products for the company that he works for so I told him that his drawing doesn't count. LOL

Thanks for the tip to plan earlier! I never realized that there was so much to do during F&W! Kitchen Memories sounds cool too.

Ok, so I'm off topic :goodvibes but does anyone know if we can use noodles in the lazy rivers at the WPs?

I always thought not, but last August we saw small kiddie size foam noodles, kinda odd rectangular shaped ones floating in the river at BB.

I'd much rather float on a noodle where I can be submerged in the hot August heat rather then sitting on top of a ring. And hard to get onto!! The rings :p

We always buy noodles for August. This year I've seen those inflatable noodles made by Intex I'm going to try! Will be great for SAB. And would be wonderful if we can bring them to the WP too. And the bobbing pool at BB. I know there's no way they'd let then in the TL pool! But I have hopes for the lazy rivers!

Mickey T you are so right about Teena! She is the epitome of Disney and BC. Much like Ranger Stan was at WL.

I was away from the boards for three weeks and its taken me a month to catch up! And I'm still not through this thread!

I need to change our dates in the good way! Please change our check in from Oct. 21 to Oct. 20. Check out remains the same, just moved our AoA res to add on a night at BC.

Lots of things going on. Tomorrow we hit double digits!!! 99 days we can't wait. The movers are coming tomorrow. Starting us off on the next journey. We got word yesterday that one of our dearest friends was killed in Afghanistan. We could use some Beach Club and Disney. We will be doing our double digit dance in the morning!!!

I am so sorry to hear of your loss. It wasn't 3rd ID, was it? DH was supposed to deploy last fall but was "voluntold" to be a drill sergeant and avoided this deployment. We do have several very good friends there now and this is the worse I ever remember it being (we've gone through 4 of them). Prayers to the fallens family and friends. Know that they won't be forgotten.

This is supposed to be a surprise trip (first surprise because I can't keep my mouth shut), but DD8 is catching on. I think I'm going to tell them we are going in Jan so they can ask for DIS gift cards for birthdays, when we are really going in OCt. This way I can surprise them but still have them active with planning and not have to be so secretive. This might blow up in my face but here goes nothing!

100 something more days to go!

I'll make the adjustment to your dates. :woohoo:

Thank you to your DH for his service and to your family for your sacrifices.

Good luck with your secret. :ssst: Sounds like a great solution to allow your kids to participate in the planning. We have only done mini-secrets. In 2011, we did a Universal trip, but we planned a secret day at MK. We got them! This year we have booked the Wishes dessert party, but I haven't decided when to tell them. The boys don't even know that exists.

Ok, need quick advice!!!!

Just did my daily check of the Disney site, and a Lagoon or Pool View CL room has just opened up! I'm currently booked for a BCV 1BR. Looks like moving back to BC would cost us an additional $200.

Pros and cons??? :confused3

Here's what I'm thinking:

Pros of staying at BCV:
- more room, including separate area for DH and me
- perhaps quieter, especially with the Pediatrician convention
- full kitchen, but we'll have DxDP so I don't think we'll be using it

Pros of staying at BC:
- closer to everything - BCV being quiet could also translate to feeling disconnected...?
- closer to SAB, definitely a destination for us this trip

What do you all think? I know I've got a tiny window to make this decision - need your expertise. :)

D'oh - nevermind. Forgot to build in DxDP - it's actually $1,000 more. :upsidedow

Even if we take out DxDP and just do Magic Your Way Plus Dining (for about $200 more), then use CL for breakfasts and some snacks, we'd still have to cut our TS meals or pay out of pocket for those. Don't think it's worth it.

Right? :)
