I didn't even think about bringing a roll of quarters for laundry. Good advice for I would hate to have to run around looking for change and it seems like those change machines are never reliable. I'll probably bring my own detergent to just to avoid any issues there too.

So here is the plan...walk to France with mug in hand and buy slushies then return to quiet pool. Laundry/pool/lounging...oh yea!

Anyone been in the YC laundry room lately? I had a heck of a time trying to do laundry at the BC last time because 3 of the machines were broken. I'm hoping not to run into that problem at the YC. I can't believe we arrive this Saturday!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :woohoo:

Ugh! Hope they are fixed. You really can't re-wear items when in Disney in June. :crowded::faint: LOL

I have never been bothered by bugs while out on the balcony, either in the wee morning hours or at night.

Now, with that character Fly Ondewalz and his family hanging about, I'm not sure if there will be a problem, but I don't think so.
I share in your affliction of insomnia, but it has never been severe enough to manifest in me doing something productive like laundry on vacation.

Don't worry about us. We only got one of those "Juliette" balconies, which when you think about it, is big enough for a Fly block party. We also like to do laundry at night while the
Larvae sleep so maybe we will see you in the laundry room. Please remember to leave the door open as we will have our hands full with tiny little laundry baskets and that makes getting in that much tougher!

As long as Fly Ondewalz doesn't bite I don't think his family will be to bothersome. We go to my family's vacation house on the lake and in the summertime the flies.....oh god the flies....they bite so bad. It is very hard to relax and that is what the purpose of these trips in the summertime.

I think they should do the 24 hour WDW much more often for us insomniacs!! If I could ride something like Spaceship Earth over and over it would rock me to sleep. It's just that soothing....maybe its just the voice.

You must be talking about those carnivorous lake flies which are distant cousins of ours. If you've ever seen that movie "National Lampoon's Vacation" those lake flies are the equivalent of Cousin Eddie in our book. In fact, even though we agree with cousin Eddie when he wonders "why they call it 'Hamburger Helper' when it does fine all by itself " we still wouldn't want to be seen with those biting Lake Flies.

In other news I still haven't caught up with that Suemom2kay at Storm Along Bay. I'm beginning to suspect that she may be avoiding me.... :scratchin. Oh well, maybe I'll look for Teena tomorrow.

Signed, your friend Buzzy the Fly

There was a line of people trying to do laundry at the main BC laundry room by the quiet pool, only 2 machines were working, and I checked the "secret" laundry room on the first floor as well and two people were already in there. It was a mess. It took me hours to finally get a turn to wash. :sad2: I'm really hoping not to run into that problem at the YC this time.

I always bring quarters, detergent, and dryer sheets from home. :thumbsup2

Well then! Maybe you need to get yourself a bigger mug!!

"Size matters for sure when using refillable mugs. Look at me. Judge me by my size, do you? Hmm? Hmm. And well you should not. For my ally is the COFFEE, and a powerful ally it is. Life creates it, makes it grow. Its energy surrounds us and binds us. Luminous beings are we, not this crude matter. You must feel the COFFEE around you; here, between you, me, the tree, the rock, everywhere, yes. Even between the land and the ship and the toilet." - Yoda

Oh my yes! An essential truth for coffee, margaritas & Grey Goose slushies!

I used the packing cubes for our trip in September and they fit well in the dresser drawers. I also bought smaller cubes from the dollar store that fit well under the bathroom sink :thumbsup2

Did you like the packing cubes? I have been debating these but think they might be great for split stay...

They used to have breakfast there several years ago. It was my family's favorite breakfast in Epcot. We were really sad when they discontinued it. That's probably what you were thinking about. :)

Thanks- makes me feel less crazy! :)

I don't recommend asking for a specific room. I would add the request "full balcony near Epcot" to your reservation. Do not do an on-line check-in and when you get to the desk, ask immediately if you have a full balcony. If they say no, tell them you really want one and if one is not available today, then you would like a room change tomorrow to a room with a full balcony. If they say you have a full balcony, ask if it is closer to Epcot than the lobby. If yes, congrats. If not, I'd just go with a full balcony no matter where it is ... JMO. Getting two requests met during a busy time of the year is a long shot.

Still cold, and now raining!!

If we get a room at the Epcot end of the hotel, how long a walk is it to SAB and Market Place / Transportation?

Thanks,

Jon

LOL I can see why you would think that that is a "Jack" necklace but it's strictly a Star Wars Symbol.

The Alliance Starbird, also known as the Phoenix, was the insignia of the Alliance to Restore the Republic. It adorned the flight helmets of a number of Rebel pilots during the Galactic Civil War.

Since you are doing laundry I recommend packing those Purel washer sheets and then also taking down dryer sheets. Both items are dry sheets that pack flat for easy transport. The Purel sheets contain both detergent and fabric softener but we like our Bounce so we always take the dryer sheets for the extra softness boost. The Purel sheets work in any washing machine so no worries there.

PS. That's not me in the picture, I borrowed it off the web. :wave2:

Too funny!!!!! Oh well the search continues ....

I'm trying the pods this year and already have dryer sheets packed . I'm running back to the store today to buy more soap because DH ran out and pulled from my Disney bag!!!!!!! I cannot rest until it is back in because the little voice inside my head keeps saying "how could you forget to pack the soap?"

Where is the secret first floor laundry? I missed this! With 10 days in June I will need to do laundry especially the teenage boy laundry - so smelly so fast.

Been up since 3 am, now waiting for my flight. All the lack of sleep will be worth it when we arrive at YC in a few hours!!!!

Sooooooo worth it!!!!!!!

I hope you can sneak in a little nap though on the airplane. Usually I'm on such an adrenaline rush I just can't. Have a wonderful trip!

Good Morning Friends!!

60 days to go......couldn't stand the wait.......so I decided to add a short trip with my entire family in 19 days:cool1::cool1: Can't wait to see my niece and nephew (3 1/2 and 2 years old!!)

won't be staying at BC for this short trip :sad1:, but we will all be at CSR!

I have an AP question for anyone who has one: I want to get one for my first trip...where do I purchase? Is there anyway to check online for AP discounts for June / July? Is it too late to get an AP discount for this time frame? I am completely lost as I have never had AP's.

TIA

I do!!! I have 3 different sizes and they help keep me organized. We went for 11 days in September and I was glad I had them. I don't put outfits together in them, but I keep my clothes separate. I have shorts & pants in one, shirts in another and so on.

Well, our last full day here has arrived. Jim and I have had a wonderfully relaxing vacation. Spoke with Teena yesterday, lay by the pool, dinner at Via Napoli, listened to Starship's show and ended the night at the Magic Kingdom for some shopping.

Teena, it was wonderful chatting with you and will keep in touch. Jim and I loved our stay here and are so looking forward to our December stay with our family. We may even sneak a fall trip in too.
disneydee hope you enjoy your stay and maybe I will see you in the lounge. Hanging out at the pool again today.

Thanks everyone for all your help in planning this trip.

I have to respond to a regulatory agency tomorrow at work and then try to find out if I get another MRI in before we leave. This will be my third one in under one year. Now the docs think I have one or two pinched nerves in my neck and the pain is shooting through my shoulder and down my arm. If that is what it is the pain management resolution will be an epidural shot in my neck...:crazy2:. I had a pretty good weekend with minimal pain, so I'm hoping the pain is really subsiding. Maybe a good whiplash on SM or RNRRC will put me back into shape, however, the doc is not sure at this point if I will be able to go on these rough rides.

I really need to stop working - it is really not healthy for me!!!! :scratchin

Hope you get answers :flower3:

For the record, I have heard lots of great things about epidural cortisone injections!!!!

I myself am waiting on blood work results to see if it explains my life impacting fatigue as of late...yesterday (Sunday :scared:) doc emailed me about a consult with her friend at a high profile institution, but did not mention blood work results...wondering if she'll call today :scratchin wishing it would go away though pixiedust:

Close to 90 days left for us!!!

Crazy question about the cubes I have been considering them but..... Once you unseal them they expand right? So coming home what do you do to get then small again lol:scratchin.

We buy and renew online. There's a certificate you will print and then take with you to the window. However, you won't have access to the AP website until you activate your cards. The new RFID cards can't be registered online (no idea why not). DH is a programmer and says it should be an easy fix they just have to invest time into the project which leads him to believe the website is getting a complete overhaul. I do believe you can call and request the AP rate over the phone. You'd just show your certificate or new cards at check in. The AP rates sell out almost as quickly as they are announced over the summer. But I was shocked to just be able to switch from YC to GF for an AP rate on the 4th so you never know!
