Can't tell you what to request ... do you want close to lobby, close to Epcot, full balcony, first floor, etc.???

Absolutely, you can use the health club to shower and change. Bell Services will hold your carry-ons and you can get to your luggage as much as you want prior to leaving.

Thanks TeenaS. Which would you recommend: first floor or full balcony? We're planning a low key trip with one day at Epcot and one day at HS so we can enjoy 2.5 days at the BC pool. TIA!

Got our 30 day email from Disney itinerary planners. Getting excited! Thanks to all for their quick service meal suggestions. Only family consensus right now is the consumption of Dole whip!

My kind of Family Decision :thumbsup2 I LOVE, LOVE,LOVE Dole Whips

I was just thinking that I should have something at home like a mug of the BC. The windbreaker sounds nice. Might have to check it out in August.

Sent from my iPad using DISBoards

I really wanted to buy that windbreaker last year, but kept talking myself out of it. "you're not going to need it" "it'll just stay in the closet" etc., We have had so many windy, damp, rainy soccer games since then and each time I said "You should have bought that darn windbreaker"!!!

Guess what i'll be buying this year ;)

One step closer to making our BC trip happen! I think I can work out my DDs trip to visit my sister and going to Orlando, but it restricts our flight options to one on the trip down. I have to speak to some seasoned travelers and see if it can work. She was scheduled to return with my sister from Edmonton, changing planes in Toronto. If I can get my sister to get her on an earlier flight, she can arrive in Toronto at 1 pm and we can all get the 3:30 flight to Orlando. She will be unaccompanied on that one leg but I should be able to meet her at the gate if we are on an earlier flight in to Toronto. Is this madness???

I just had a thought on this. Make sure everyone understands how/when you go through US customs, since you do "enter the US" at the Toronto airport.

I assume each of your first leg flights will land in "Canada" at the Toronto airport, and you will then have to pick up your luggage to carry it to US customs. If so, you want her to understand what she needs to do after she lands. If you both "enter the US" at your originating airport, this won't be an issue.

This also has implications for when you put your ME mickey stickers on the luggage. Do you do that at the originating airport or when you transfer in Toronto.

We arrive at BC on 4/21. Trying to determine if I need to pack a speaker for our Ipod. Can someone confirm if the alarm clock in the rooms allow for iPod docking?

Thank You

Potential dumb?

Once you check out...can you still use SAB that day?

We are doing a DVC/SSR split stay with YC on the front end, RD at MK on "switch" day, but don't plan on staying there until official check in time and frankly, would rather use SAB one last time if possible.

also any garden view pics around?

Thanks!

Still hopelessly behind!!! If you are a new friend who has posted since page 145, I still need to give you an official howdy, but to try to prevent digging myself deeper, I'm going to stay caught up from here.

Hello All! We will be staying at BC post Fantasy to celebrate our 15th Anniversary and my 4-0! We were originally booked at POR, but upgraded yesterday due to the promotion to a GV room. It will be me (Anne), DH(41), DS(9), DD(8), and DS(6). We're EXTREMELY excited to be at the BC and will be there June 22-26.

Two questions: what should I request and are there change facilities that we can utilize on the 26th since our flight doesn't leave until 5:15 pm? TIA:)

Thanks TeenaS. Which would you recommend: first floor or full balcony? We're planning a low key trip with one day at Epcot and one day at HS so we can enjoy 2.5 days at the BC pool. TIA!

:welcome:

I'll add you to the Be Our Guest list. Sounds like you have some great plans to celebrate a couple of important occasions!

:cool1:

If you request first floor you should get a patio, and you would be close to either the lobby/buses/Stormalong Bay Or you could be close to the entrance to the World Showcase at EPCOT. About 50% of the rooms at the Beach Club have full balconies. The rest have standing balconies. So I would think a request for first floor gives you a much better chance for some outdoor space. But you may also be near pathways and have a little less privacy (anyone care to comment/confirm or deny this about first floor rooms?)

:welcome: to this thread and to the DIS!

I'll add you to the Be Our Guest list.

:woohoo:

Here is a picture of the clock radio in the rooms. I believe these are ipod docks/speakers, but since I am a Zune user, I don't know this for sure.

If you would like to be added to the Be Our Guest, please let us know the dates for your trip.

:yay:

You can totally use SAB on checkout day! Bell services can store anything you need them to and you can use the health club lockers and showers to change and freshen up when you are done.

I am trying to collect views from YC and BC club rooms in a thread in the resort photo subforum. The GV rooms at the Yacht Club can be wedding gazebo or the back (lake-side) entrance to the Yacht Club. Not sure if there are some other GV rooms overlooking anything else.

This is from the FAQ post on Page 1 of this thread:

What will the view from my room be?

Effective with reservations on January 1, 2011, the view categories at the Beach and Yacht Clubs were reclassified into 3 booking categories:

Standard view- parking lot or rooftops
Garden view- something green- trees or courtyard
Lagoon or Water view- lake or pool

I started up two View Threads in the Resort Photo Subforum:

Beach Club Room Views

Yacht Club Room Views

The purpose of these thread is to give some samples of rooms in various view categories at the Yacht and Beach Clubs.

Hi,

BC questions.

We have requested a room with a daybed, if we get one, does the hotel provide bed rails? I have seen a picture with one on but not sure if that person brought their own.

Also, can anyone tell me if there are any ground floor patio rooms that are on the front of the building, this would be towards the car park??
I was going to request a ground floor( is this also called 1st floor in the US?) but didn't want to risk having a room at the front on the ground, they look much nicer on the back side of the BC.

Hope you understand me!!!!

Thanks

Hey gang :cool1: I saw a post on Twitter about new resort specific coffee mugs! :thumbsup2 Does anyone have pics of the YC or BC mug??? No these are not the refillable type, they are ceramic I believe. :) THANKS!

41 days to go!!!!!!!!!

This will be our first time at BC but our 11th WDW trip. You can request bedrails from housekeeping.

I have pictures of the ones from the March 2012 reintroduction of resort-specific merchandise. Are these the ones you are talking about or are there different ones being introduced?

Beach Club Mug, LUGGAGE TAG (1 of 2) and Water Bottle

BeachClubMugLUGGAGETAG1of2andWaterBottlesmfile.jpg

Note: the mug and the H2O bottle ARE NOT dishwasher safe. The luggage tag is in the middle in front of the glass. In in Feb of 2012 , The mug was $11.95, this type of luggage tag was $4.95 and the water bottle was $14.95

I don't have a picture of a YC mug (if one does exist), but these are the two designs that have been on most of the YC merchandise:

Oh I wish they would go back to the resort specific mugs!!!! I guess new mugs should be coming out soon? Hope I like them as much as the last ones.

We are celebrating my dd's Sweet 16 and ds's 13th birthday in Disney. Feel bad for other dd (December birthday). I think we might do a little special cake for her 8th grade graduation.

Maybe you could have an Un-Birthday celebration for her at WDW :goodvibes

I plan on getting a new mug and any other BC merchandise I find. Can't wait to go shopping!

The Winds of Change keep blowing through.

We were originally planning on an 8/3 until 8/10 stay
Flying out of New England to MCO. Looked like RT flights for the 4 of us would be around $1350, including taxes/fees.

Did some digging...

If we leave on 8/2 instead, we can get a flight for under $800 including taxes/fees. Possibly doing a night at an Allstar (Sports maybe) for $179 before 15% Visa discount...

I think we are becoming Split Stay peeps... :moped:

:welcome: Dave!

So All Star Sports 8/2, then BC Aug 3-10?

:woohoo:

14 teenage boys?!? No wonder you found enjoyment in that cement corner ;)

:thumbsup2

Having had 10 not quite teenage girls in my house for a sleepover...I can only imagine the exhilaration of escaping from 14 teenage boys

I like Starring Rolls myself...but DH hates it, due to a little incident on our first trip with kids, where it was really crowded, and the tray ended up turning over and dumping everything to the floor...he let out a very loud non-Disney-like expletive and the whole place went silent with people staring at him...so he's very grumpy whenever I suggest it.

It's not a lunch place...but our new favorite snack place in DHS is The Writer's Stop (carrot cake cookies! yum!!!)

I'll take the 14 teenage boys over 10 almost teenaged girls. Bless you!

Your story is hilarious!!! Does DH know you shared it with all of us? :lmao:

We have a slight change of plans, but all for the best, I think ;) DD5 really wants to stay at AoA in a LM room. I'm a resort snob. I admit it and am ok with it ;) For me, the resort and amenities are a big part of the vacation. Values don't cut it. BUT, she's 5 and I thought about how in a few years she might not care much about the LM so we booked AoA for 8/14 and 15. Still waiting on AP discounts, but seriously considering BC or YC CL for the next 3 nights before we go to VWL. Even if we don't do CL, we'll still be at BC/YC because I think the kids will love Stormalong Bay. I love CL! DH can take it or leave it, but I think with young kids, it's so convenient in the morning. Never stayed CL at BC or YC so that's exciting too :)

I'll make the adjustment to the Be Our Guest list. Sounds wonderful!

:goodvibes

My DH, 5 month old DS and I plan to stay at the Yacht Cub mid-November. The hotel res has been made, we just need to see how flight prices shake out before we decide on the exact dates. But I am super excited! We know to take it easy and just enjoy our trip... We are Disney experienced, but never with a little baby, or even really young kids.... Any advice will be appreciated.

:welcome:

I'll add you to the Be Our Guest list. Wishing you the best for finding some decent airfares.

:yay:

Sorry, no tips from me about traveling with babies or young kids, although I do believe I have read that the childcare stations in the parks are excellent for nursing moms or parents who need a quiet place to feed their babies.

Can not wait to go to Disney World this year. My daughter has had a very rough year (she is 11). Her ankle started hurting in the summer (former gymnast and started doing all star cheer after she quit gymnastics). Her ankle was hurting off and on and by the end of September it was hurting almost every day.

Sue, so sorry to hear about what an awful, pain-filled year your daughter has had. :(

Wishing you the best trip ever!!!

I have a question. On our checkout day we made a 730 Cape May reservation. I did this in thinking we can swim afterwards before we leave. I just read on another thread that the pool doesn't open until 10:00. Is this the case mid June?

If so I was thinking we can load the car up before we eat and then after drive over to GF, so our kids can do the pirate cruise at 930. (It is not offered at YC this day :( ). Do you think this is possible to do with time with a 730 reservation?

I'm pretty sure SAB opens at 10 am every day. As others have said, the quiet pools at BC, YC and BCV will be open in the morning.

:fish:

OMG!!! I know StephH from another message board!!! I was so surprised to see her boys show up here!

It really is a small world!! (sorry...couldn't resist!)

That is funny! It IS a small world. I just noticed that our dates at the resort coincide. So if you see a bigger version of Flat Ben, along with a teenager with a surly look on his face, a handsome man who looks a little bit like Anderson Cooper and a short, perky mom walking a few steps behind the others snapping photos, please say hello!

:wave2:

I would use the park hours found on Josh's Easy Wdw site http://www.easywdw.com/.

You can look up the month of your stay on the right side of the site in the Categories section. You can then read past the intro to what is going on that month and get the hours for each day of your visit. The times and park recommendations are in paragraph form so there is a lot of detailed information, but all of it is GOLD!

Josh's site is considered the best for up to date park hours as he uses a number of reliable information sources. Before I go on a trip I do my final park hours check on his site about two weeks before my trip but I pencil everything in on a master schedule weeks before using Josh's data.

The hours that the parks used last year will be different from the ones that they use this year due to changes in the Extra Magic hours. Josh already has this information factored into his schedule to the point where reliable information sources have revealed what any changes will be.

You can't go wrong when using EasyWDW!

Wow- I haven't been on that site- the calendar is awesome!!! Thanks for sharing this info.

:thumbsup2

Greetings all:

This is a quick note to let y'all know that I booked the Beach Club Club Level over Marathon weekend. I ran the Wine & Dine Half Marathon last year and stayed at on the club Level of the Beach Club. I booked the Beach Club because it was the closest hotel to the finish line in Epcot's parking lot. It was a short stagger back to the hotel after the run.

I'm running the full marathon this year, and the finish line for the marathon is also in Epcot's parking lot. So back to the Beach Club we go. It's not cheap, but I booked Club level again because the wonderful pre-trip planning assistance. Their advice and arrangements made the Wine and Dine trip very very enjoyable.

Rick

:welcome: Rick!

January trip?

I'll add you to the Be Our Guest list.

:cool1:

NOW you tell me......Geesh!

OOPS!!!

Mike- do you still have the cup? Although warnings are included in the packaging materials (I'm told), others have been successful exchanging mugs in similar conditions to yours.

:rolleyes1

Well crud, I can't find the tweet I saw, but I thought it said new resort mugs, or maybe this person just thought they were new? LOL
