We are celebrating my dd's Sweet 16 and ds's 13th birthday in Disney. Feel bad for other dd (December birthday). I think we might do a little special cake for her 8th grade graduation.

We are going to Ohana for dinner and I have some questions about getting there. I would like to take the monorail. Should we take a bus to the front of the Epcot, or walk through? My parents are huge walkers so walking is not a problem for us but just want to make things simple. On our way back, I see that everything closes at 9:00, can we still walk through? Can we still take the monorail to Epcot? Our reservation is at 6:00, so it might not even be an issue, but also don't want to feel rushed. We do have park hoppers so that is not an issue at all.

As Wdwlver mentioned, there is no bus from BC/YC to the front of Epcot and you can't walk through Epcot after it closes. There are a number of ways to get to/from Ohana involving monorail, walking, bus, MK, TTC, etc. But here's our favorite:

We leave BC well in advance and go through the international gateway into Epcot. We might get a small snack for the kids to take along while walking, get a beer for my husband in the UK and a Grey Goose slushie for me in France. This isn't a direct way to get from BC/YC to Ohana, but relaxing and fun! Then we take the monorail from Epcot to TTC. No need to transfer monorails! Just hop off at TTC and walk through the Poly grounds to the Great Ceremonial House and enjoy your dinner at Ohana. If we have time and Epcot is still open, we reverse the process on the way "home." But if not, I'd suggest a cab.

And if we don't have time for the leisurely stroll through Epcot, then we take a cab. The bus to MK is fine, but then we have to take the resort monorail around nearly the whole loop to get to Poly.

Take the bus from the BC to Magic Kingdom and then get on the Resort Monorail (not to be confused with the Express Monorail). The Resort Monorail will take you to the Poly.

Thank you for the responses! I thought I read somewhere about a bus to Epcot, I thought it was a silly when I was reading, good to know I am just crazy :rotfl:

I love the MK idea! They are open until 11:00 that night so we might have to "pop" in after dinner for some fun! :cool1:

Dee: That pic is great!! Little did he know when he took the pic at at YC that it would somehow come true in the future!!

hey, if he decides to become captain of the Albatros Cruise.....I'll be his first customer :)

Unfortunately, I fear that you may also be his last. :sail:

Disney's early calendars are usually on the conservative side. Sometimes Disney will decide to extend hours on that day. Maybe you could compare this June's calendar to last years and see if they are similar.

Yes, that's usually the case, but I think I read that some of the announced extra magic hours were actually cut back over the summer (like Friday night late EMH at MK)

:(

First, love the Ben photos!! Second, if anyone knows of any RunDisney trip reports or pre-trip reports, please let me know! Does someone have the link to Amanda's?

Thanks for posting the additional information on the beer/wine/liquor offerings

Here are a couple of Amanda's trip reports:

Half Marathon PTR

Half Marathon Trip Report, Jan 2011 (Supervising Children From ages 2 to 72 while running a half-marathon)

PTR for 4 trips, including running trips Marathon 2012 and ToT 2012

Here's what I have from the BC Marketplace photos:

Beer
Bud
Bud Light
Miller
Miller Light
Coors (not sure if light)
Heineken
Corona extra
Smirnoff something
Mike's Hard Lemonade
One more beer, but I don't recognize the label and can't read it

While I don't see a Miller beer in there other than Miller Lite, I do see Michelob Ultra in the tall tan/blue aluminum can.

Confirming it is definitely Coors Light (the Silver Bullet)

And I would guess the red/white can to be Red Stripe (Jamaican)

...Not that I would know for sure, I'm just sayin'! ;)

When can I expect my final trip documents? We check in on 5/17. This is our first trip, so not sure what to expect.

Thanks in advance.

Did you book a package, or room only? I think that you usually get Mickey Mail about 30 days out with a package.

Anyone going in June: The Tomorrowland Terrace Dessert Party opened up yesterday for June. If you haven't ever tried it, you may want to look into getting ADRs before they're gone. We just LOVE it :)

Wow, there is no rhyme or reason as to when the open up the ADRs for he dessert party, huh? I am hoping to score ADRs for it on my birthday in October - guess I am going to have to haunt the boards from early August onwards!

One step closer to making our BC trip happen! I think I can work out my DDs trip to visit my sister and going to Orlando, but it restricts our flight options to one on the trip down. I have to speak to some seasoned travelers and see if it can work. She was scheduled to return with my sister from Edmonton, changing planes in Toronto. If I can get my sister to get her on an earlier flight, she can arrive in Toronto at 1 pm and we can all get the 3:30 flight to Orlando. She will be unaccompanied on that one leg but I should be able to meet her at the gate if we are on an earlier flight in to Toronto. Is this madness???

I don't think so. Explain what is involved and ask your daughter if she thinks she can handle it. If she says yes then you have a plan. She'll manage just fine I imagine....

I just had panic this AM when I realized that we are less than 2 months out and I haven't done as much planning done as I usually do, so here is another question-

I noticed that the hours on the park calendars have changed slightly since I looked several months ago. I know they are subject to change at any time but is it fairly likely they will remain what they are now for a trip in early June?

I would use the park hours found on Josh's Easy Wdw site http://www.easywdw.com/.

You can look up the month of your stay on the right side of the site in the Categories section. You can then read past the intro to what is going on that month and get the hours for each day of your visit. The times and park recommendations are in paragraph form so there is a lot of detailed information, but all of it is GOLD!

Josh's site is considered the best for up to date park hours as he uses a number of reliable information sources. Before I go on a trip I do my final park hours check on his site about two weeks before my trip but I pencil everything in on a master schedule weeks before using Josh's data.

The hours that the parks used last year will be different from the ones that they use this year due to changes in the Extra Magic hours. Josh already has this information factored into his schedule to the point where reliable information sources have revealed what any changes will be.

You can't go wrong when using EasyWDW!

Getting ready to leave for ds's baseball game.
I'm wearing my BC windbreaker - anything that reminds me of BC just makes me smile! I'm so glad I bought it, comes in really handy. That and my BC frig magnet!!!! BC all year long.

I Love my BC windbreaker!! It's very wind proof and not too heavy and not too light. I also love it's quality construction and materials. They really got it right when they went with the company that makes those jackets!

How is the drawer space at the Beach Club? We are in a standard view room with 2 queen beds and a daybed. When I look at the photos there doesn't seem to be alot of drawer space.

With 5 of us in the room each of the boys (3) got a drawer for their stuff including keys, wallets, ipods. We kept shorts folded on the shelf above the hangers and Dad and Mom had their stuff hung up. Mom and Dad also split the 4th drawer and we claimed the drawer between the beds for our stuff. We also used a suitcase on the floor of the closet as a hamper and the extra suitcases fit nicely on the side of the bed that was next to the bathroom. A little organization goes a long way with that many in the room. We also had plenty of room in the bathroom to stash that kind of stuff although if we had 3 girls instead of boys we would have been in trouble!

I was just thinking that I should have something at home like a mug of the BC. The windbreaker sounds nice. Might have to check it out in August.

We pack light, so drawer space is never an issue for our family of five. Actually, I usually line up our suitcases at the bottom of the closet and have most things organized in there. But on occasion (for longer stays) we'll use the drawers.

In a standard room, we have this space:

And then a chest of drawers that looks like this:

I took that second photo in the 2-bedroom suite, but I think it looks like the same chest that we've had in our other BC rooms.

Thanks for the photos!

I'm confused. Daughter arrives in Toronto at 1:00 p.m. You and others fly into Toronto from someplace else. You meet up with daughter at Toronto airport, and you all get on a 3:30 flight to Orlando. Is that right?

What happens if your flight is delayed or cancelled? What if the airlines can't get you to Toronto until the next day? Daughter waits around alone in the airport? Am I missing something?

Greetings all:

This is a quick note to let y'all know that I booked the Beach Club Club Level over Marathon weekend. I ran the Wine & Dine Half Marathon last year and stayed at on the club Level of the Beach Club. I booked the Beach Club because it was the closest hotel to the finish line in Epcot's parking lot. It was a short stagger back to the hotel after the run.

I'm running the full marathon this year, and the finish line for the marathon is also in Epcot's parking lot. So back to the Beach Club we go. It's not cheap, but I booked Club level again because the wonderful pre-trip planning assistance. Their advice and arrangements made the Wine and Dine trip very very enjoyable.

Hello All! We will be staying at BC post Fantasy to celebrate our 15th Anniversary and my 4-0! We were originally booked at POR, but upgraded yesterday due to the promotion to a GV room. It will be me (Anne), DH(41), DS(9), DD(8), and DS(6). We're EXTREMELY excited to be at the BC and will be there June 22-26.

Two questions: what should I request and are there change facilities that we can utilize on the 26th since our flight doesn't leave until 5:15 pm? TIA:)

Can't tell you what to request ... do you want close to lobby, close to Epcot, full balcony, first floor, etc.???

Absolutely, you can use the health club to shower and change. Bell Services will hold your carry-ons and you can get to your luggage as much as you want prior to leaving.

Got our 30 day email from Disney itinerary planners. Getting excited! Thanks to all for their quick service meal suggestions. Only family consensus right now is the consumption of Dole whip!
