Have been reading about overbooking at BC. Is this something that happens often?? We have 3 rooms booked from 4/11 through 4/17 and our family enjoy being together. Actually we have requested connecting room for the 2 that have the grandkids. Ours is separate and after a busy day we like that. May I hope with some certainty that none of our rooms will be bumped to another hotel? I do so want to be polite if this happens but you know how that would go.

Thanks

This year I hope of going to DW will have to be in August, yes its hot and humid but with DD22 and her BF college/co-op schedule this is our only hope. Anyway just went and tried to price a Garden View at BC and was shocked they do not have any available! Is this normal for the BC during this time of years? More info is they don't have any standard rooms available either and the same for YC, no standard or garden.

Thanks all for answering my question re: how crowded the pool gets in June. Sounds doable. :thumbsup2

Yep, we went to the Poly once during Spring Break and the pool was insane. Hoping to avoid that level of madness. Maybe we'll see you at SAB. ;)

Probably! We love our resort/pool time!

Oh I feel so bad for you, not :) We are up here in Holland and ahhhhh, thankfully, we aren't getting anything this time around, no lake effect for us!!! Enjoy your snow day!! I've predicted that we will be getting no more snow!!! Even my neighbor who plows snow, took the plow off his truck ;) I like your thinking though, daydreaming while the snow is falling, happy daydreaming!!!

I have great childhood memories of Holland, MI!!!! I miss stopping by the Wooden Shoe Factory! Back to day dreaming about WDW!

Does it ever happen, yes. Does it happen often, no. 99% of the time a guest would get moved is if the resort is at capacity and there's a maintenance issue that takes a block of rooms out of service.

Where have you been reading this?

And it is still there!! I'm originally from WI, but have lived here for almost 15 years!! My DD (7) was at a birthday party today and the girls all got leis and my DD(7) put hers on her head like she did at Ohana and then was doing the same for all the other little girls!! Got my Disney memory for the day :)

Staying @YC club level next week. Bought some gifts from eBay for my DD5 birthday surprise. Can I ship to Yacht Club? If yes what is the address? Thx

:welcome:

I'll put you on the Be Our Guest list for next week. Hope you have a fantastic trip!

Yes, you can ship items to the Yacht Club. Here is the info from Page 1 of this thread (Other Useful Info):

Can I ship a package to Beach Club or Yacht Club for my stay?

If you ship a package to the resort, Mail by United States Postal Service, not anything else!!! If you mail other than USPS, your items will be shipped to the convention center and the shipping department will charge the recipient a handling charge, based on the weight of your package.

Trying to coordinate DS5 pirate cruise, DH fishing excursion, and then I will take DS3 to Hollywood and Vine character meal. What time of day is the pirate cruise? I found the info for the fishing excursion. Thanks!

It's at 9:30 am, and you need to be at the marina by 9:15. It looks like fun! I signed my kids up for it, too.

Oops.... Here's a BIGGER one since y'all are so thirsty!

This may have to be my screen saver :goodvibes

I leave for Disney on Thursday and it's supposed to snow! I'm getting very nervous at this point and I'm praying that its all hype and we'll get nothing but rain! Sunday I'll be newly 21 and at the beach club. I've been waiting for this for so long!

The happiest place on earth to celebrate a very BIG birthday!!! :cake: Have a wonderful time and a wonderful birthday!!! Will you be getting a Sunken Treasure

Here's what my reservation confirmation says:

9:30 AM
Albatross Cruise
Bayside Marina at Disney's Yacht Club Resort
Party of: 2
Parent or Guardian must sign a waiver for child's participation. Arrive at least 15 minutes prior to excursion. Please cancel at least 24 hours prior in order to avoid a penalty of the full amount of the cruise. This is a children only event. Available to children 4 - 10 years of age. All children must be fully potty trained. The cruise may be canceled due to inclement weather.

It's in my itinerary now through IPO, but when I scheduled it I called the Yacht Club directly. It was easy. Then they sent me the confirmation email with the above information (with date & booking #).

Awesome! Thank you so much for the quick replies!

DCV23 are you still at Disney? I have a request if you want a challenge :)

Do you mean me? BTW, have any of you picked a DIS name and then regretted it for all your years on the DIS. :rotfl: Anyway, what is your challenge? I will do my best given the constraints of family and time. :) We'll be here a few more days before moving to AKV.

Dee, thanks for the info on Teena. Hope she is having a great time.

GraceMonica have a great 21st birthday pixiedust:!!! My DD celebrated her 21st birthday in Disney World too!! Her and I sat out by the water at POR at midnight with glasses and a bottle of Asti... her in her light up Disney birthday hat and me crying as she turned 21 and had her FIRST legal drink with me!! Everyone was so nice singing to her and wishing her a happy 21st!! Truly a great memory!! Drive safe and have a great time!!

~Nannette

Thank you! The only problem I'm facing now is I'm coming down with a cold. I'm doing my best to fight it and I refuse to let it ruin my trip!

My mom isn't too excited about me turning 21. She thinks I'm going to go out, get drunk and do something stupid. I rarely go out as it is, so I don't know why she thinks that. She's more worried about me embarrassing the family than anything else! :confused3

Oh my yes :) I tried so hard to remember your Dis name :rotfl: I'm sure I got distracted by someone or something ;) Wondering if you have seen any Year of the Ear hats and what they might be?! Or is this just not worth my time hunting these things down? My DS's birthday is March 31st and I thought if there were a good one, I would surprise him with one?! Otherwise, no big deal, thanks for asking!!

What a great picture!!!! It looks sooo good!! I have a question about your camera settings, how did you get the entire background to be blurry??? Is it a special setting or the lens?? Thanks!!

I haven't seen them and didn't even know about them until I was trying to catch up with this thread. Dee posted a photo and link about the Year of the Ears. The photos looks like a St. Patrick's Day version to me. I will keep an eye out. You can most likely order one through Disney Merchandise. Sounds like a great gift.

Dee, congrats on booking another trip. :cool1: Ben, way to go! :thumbsup2 GraceMonica, have a great vacation. :beach: Fellow Chicagoans, better you than me shoveling this week. :wave2: :duck: Was it a pretty snowfall? Ninjamom, hope your trip was great. :flower3: So true about forecasts in Florida!

Hi Everyone! :wave2: I have been a lurker on the Dis for years, but I decided it is time for my first post! We visit WDW every year. Usually we stay at POFQ or BWV. This year we are staying at BCV and we are so excited! We will be there May 26-June 1. I have loved reading this thread. Thank you for all the info and great advice. Can't wait for May!

It took me forever to finally post as well. Welcome to the boards! :)

Thanks DancinDaisyDuck for the mention of our recent upgrade at YC on the prior thread last week. :)

Dee: Thanks for posting the link to our teaser photo of the Admiral Suite. I completely blew my opportunity to reaquaint myself with the YC/BC fans over here before the trip since work kept me busy up to the night before our trip. However, the YC/BC thread was my inauguration into the Disboards 3 years ago so I have fond memories of all that these threads and you good folks have to offer.

Here's a few photos to give a better idea of the room which was a completely random upgrade that was done for counts. (Meaning they needed to make availability for a pool view CL room and had an empty suite so they selected a family to be upgraded to the suite.)

For our stay last week it was 3 nights in the Admiral suite - room 4157. (Darn that we didn't have a longer stay booked but we were at AKL before YC and then moved to BLT for 5 nites!)

Part of our room occupied the turret on the 4th floor.

The "sun room" as we called it which occupied the turret space:

Master bedroom: (we snuck in at least one photo!)

Master bathroom: It had a 6 jet spa tub, shower, 3 vanities, and a compartment bathroom with a toilet and bidet.

Second bedroom - standard room with bathroom and a balcony:

There was also a powder room off the entry and a small kitchenette adjacent to the dining room. There were a total of 3 standard balconies and 1 stand up balcony for the suite. It had 3 entry doors and many other details that I probably captured with my 100+ photos of the room and the decor. ;) I still have to upload most of our trip photos so it is likely if it was in the room, I have a photo! When I start my TR is will have more photos.
