Add us to the Be Our Guest list for Sept. 6-13!!! We're Beach Clubbin' again!:cool1:

I get to attend a Doctorate Residency for Walden University in Orlando 9/4-6, so that should be fun. Anyone else joining me?

I missed most of this thread and am frantically trying to catch up. We had a quick trip down to DLR in September where we met the delightful Princess in Oz! It was great to meet a fellow DISer and she took some amazing photos of DD. We didn't get to ride RSR in Cars Land, DD was just a bit short. We did stay at the Grand Californian so happy to answer any questions DD. :-)

Once we returned I had a crazy amount of business travel and some family things to keep me off the boards. I blinked, and here we are with less than two weeks until we get back home! Looking forward to catching up on this thread and a few trip reports in between packing. :rotfl:

Hi all, I haven't posted in here in ages, since our fantastic trip last fall. We fell in love with the Beach Club while staying in the Villas. We have just booked a cruise for April vacation 2015 :hyper: and I was thinking of surprising DS with a night at the Beach Club when we get off the boat, so it doesn't seem like such a let down when our cruise ends..

Anyway, my questions: How far in advance does booking open up for the resorts? I did everything through renting DVC points last time so really have no clue how the actual Beach Club Resort works. Also, if I happen to have a pin code that I received in the mail, am I able to apply that to just one night, or do those only pertain to 3 or 4+ nights/packages?

TIA!! See you in April of 2015!!

Hello, long lost board member here! I stayed in the YC in August for a week, and had an amazing time. I've had a terrible Fall (after my terrible fall at the YC! I'm the one with the big black eye) with one of my best friends of 25+ years dying suddenly and completely unexpectedly, as well as losing an uncle and a pet. Coming back up for air now and finally getting around to my trip report! Unfortunately my iPad erased all my notes so I am going on memory, pictures and posts here. LOL. Also not to spoil the punch line (so to speak) but it turns out that I actually had a concussion. Imagine! However, CAT scan done last week shows no lasting damage.

Hope all is well with everyone... Wish I had a trip planned but it's looking like Italy with the fam next summer so don't feel too bad for me. :rotfl2:

It's all legit for those concerned about the deal. I was a bit skeptical last year, but we had a fabulous trip, you can read my mini TR in my signature. You get a conf# and can go into MDE and book your ADR's and FP+ when the time comes, no issues. Works likes any other reservation. :)

Hi, all - I've been following this thread for a few days now, and while I can't go in August, my little family and I had plans to go in December 2014. After some soul searching, we decided to move our trip back to October 2014 because my DS (not quite 2 years old yet) loved MNSSHP so much and the opportunity to swim in the pool this past October, and we enjoyed F&W so very much. The problem we were contemplating was the fact that we enjoyed our time so much at Poly, and wanted to do it again, but the Volcano pool was a big part of that, and it's pretty much all but confirmed that the pool will be down next October. That's when I did some research, and decided that BC would be the next best fit for us, even though it's far from MK. It appears that the bus service to MK is pretty reliable, though, and SAB pool is AMAZING. Not to mention the fact that we ate dinner at F&W almost every night, so it would be great to just walk back to our room afterwords!

So this is a long-winded way of saying THANKS for all of the information on the "deal" - even though I am not able to take part in that one, I am about to book with an almost-as-good package deal for my chosen dates in October 2014, which will end up costing me about $1000 less than my room-only in December at Poly. Very excited!

Wow I have been lurking it seems since Sept. Thanks for those who answered my question months ago. I just read your replies. I think I am taking so long getting caught up do to following along peoples trip reports, changing plans on where to stay, now not knowing when I will get back. (Looks like it is going to be in 2015.) That all said with all the reading I have done BC is still my first choice. I even have hubby on board. I really don't like to lurk but I am learning so much by reading. Hopefully one day I will be caught up and will reply more. Today I have read from page 40 to 61.

Just an FYI for some of you who have been writing and asking me about the *** deal since I first posted about it way back on pg.180--I am not the infamous Dee (despite my screen name). Different person. My name is Dawn. Nice to meet all of you. :)

Hi everyone! I arrived home from our eight day first stay at the BC on Saturday. All I have to say is WOW! I am never staying anywhere else again! The resort itself was beautiful and the Boardwalk at night was a sight to see! The location location location! We could see illuminations from our balcony and pretty sure we saw wishes on our walk back from Epcot. We were in a CL Deluxe room- 2557 and did not mind at all being far away from the lounge. No big deal to us. I did spot Teena on Sunday the 10th but was too shy to say hello. Just a big thank you for all the information on here. Trying to figure out when we can go back. I don't want to pull the kids out of school next trip so it might have to be a summer vacation. Thanks again to everyone!

I'll add you to the list!

As I mentioned a few days ago, my family visited US/IoA in 2011 (first visit, Portofino) and 2013 (Hard Rock). Lots of info in my trip reports- Welcome Foolish Muggles and Hijinks and Shenanigans (more complete report on the US trip report board). The reports have chapter links if you want to check them out.
Thank you so much for adding me to the list!! :good vibes I was wondering what everyone was taking about, the BOG list, found it!! LOL!! I just started reading this thread, enjoying it thoroughly!

I will definitely check out your trip reports, thanks for the tip!! It's going to be a long 9 months!

Hi everyone! Have a quick question what is the weather like the week after christmas? I may be going with my best friend. Thanks guys

Good to see you coming back around, and good to hear you head your head examined and all is well!

Looking forward to your report - don't worry too much about losing your notes. We all love a report filled with pictures and story embellishments, so just make things up as you go along.

Anyway, my questions: How far in advance does booking open up for the resorts? I did everything through renting DVC points last time so really have no clue how the actual Beach Club Resort works.
I believe that you can book a resort room as far as 500 days in advance.

We would frequently take the monorail from MK to Epcot and then walk through to the BC. It is very convenient to be so close to the park, especially after Illuminations is over. There aren't any crowds to fight. :)

Hi everyone! Have a quick question what is the weather like the week after christmas? I may be going with my best friend. Thanks guys

The weather that time of year can be anywhere from warm to freezing, sometimes even in the same week. Watch the weather forecasts and pack for cool nights, warm days, and everything in between.

Welcome back oh prodigal daughter! I'm sorry to hear of your troubles but perhaps I can be of assistance with the erased ipad...

Yes, you had all those notes and documentations of your last trip and yes they have been poofed into the abyss. This little inconvenience shall not stop you because you are going to use the patented, super duper, Ninja Mom method of writing trip reports. If you follow the tips listed below you will be able to bang out a BANGING trip report in no time!

Tip #1: Take insignificant details about your trip and EMBELLISH them! To wit: "We ate at La Hacienda de San Angel" is a nice but boring tid bit included in many a trip report. Consider spicing that up a little with the following Embellishment: "We ate at La Hacienda de San Angel while fighting off feral cats who were attacking our Tacos de Camarones while wearing festive sombreros!" Now THAT is an interesting inclusion in a trip report and one certain to start a plethora of rumors on the Dis Boards.

Tip #2: Not every moment on a Trip report is going to be interesting so be sure to include LOTS of family drama! Remember to document those many moments when you were close to divorcing your spouse or murdering your teenagers. Did you have the opportunity to assault another guest? Tell us about it! Was there a run in with the law? Dish it! When writing a trip report it's best to not hold back.... Air ALL your dirty laundry in public. Remember, you have our strictest confidence and we won't tell a soul (you will).

Tip #3: Steal from other trip reports! Not every day on your Disney trip is going to be that interesting, especially any day spent at Animal Kingdom where the wildlife is not throwing poo at the guests. When you hit a boring spot Copy/Paste a more interesting section from someone else's trip report. Remember to change the names so no one catches on. It's not like your family will read your trip report since they are still not talking to you because of that trip, so you can totally get away with this!

Tip #4: If you start a trip report be sure and take MONTHS if not YEARS to finish it. Most of your reading audience will have died of old age by the time you should finish this report AND since Alzheimer's has taken over your mind, it won't be making much sense at all. All that matters not as most of us reading these trip reports either lead extremely boring lives and/or are procrastinating from cleaning out the fridge and need an important reason not to get around these household chores or work responsibilities.

Tip #5: End every installment of your trip report with a cliff hanger! Were you on the bus for HOURS returning from Downtown Disney? Be sure to torture us and don't come right out and say it! Some people live in denial and they will never catch on that that bus trip back is at least a quarter of your day. Keep them wondering and don't reveal the answer until your next trip installment 8 months later.

Tip #6: Include lots of out of focus pictures of half eaten food. People love this! The darker and the blurrier = great! Even better is to take surreptitious pictures of food OTHER people are eating. This comes in handy when you are too cheap to order the Le Cellier Mushroom Filet Mignon and are there just to fill up on the pretzel bread and 'free' water.

All of these trip report tips should help you fill in the missing pieces make for an... shall we say 'interesting', trip report? Be sure to come back in another 11 months with your first installment.... unless you decide to take a short cut and just steal somebody's trip report in it's entirety. Either way we'll be you devoted readers so GET BUSY! We can't wait!

I just switched back to the Poly this morning. I'm sorry about your fingers :(

Thanks for your concern! I'll be ok! ;)

I'll indicate that you are moving over to the Poly. Have a fantastic trip!

:goodvibes

Dee I've got nothing to add (today, anyway) :rotfl:, but man you are working hard this morning! :goodvibes

::yes::

I just booked my split stay!!! GFV 1 bedroom and YC split stay! Though I am worried I will feel like I am slumming it after leaving a one bedroom at GFV to go to YC and you all know I love YC!!!!!!!! We are going mid June after being at US IOA for 3 days. Super excited to try GFV....but SAB wooed us back for second end of trip! :)

:welcome: back!

I'll add you to the Be Our Guest list.

:cool1:

Looking at Disney next spring. Have they announced when the Miners Train will be opening?

BUMPING!

Anyone hearing rumored dates?

Hi all!! Staying at BC garden view room from 8/20-8/29 2014... So excited to be staying for 10 days!! Never stated at the world for that long and never stayed at a Epcot resort!! My family of 5 is really looking foward to it!! We can't wait !!

:welcome:

I'll add you to the Be Our Guest list.

:woohoo:

Please let us know if you have any questions.

I was reading the FAQ about the quiet pools and hot tubs. I noticed it said the quiet pools were open 24/7, are the hot tubs available 24/7 also?

Bumping!

A great question. I assume so, but don't know for sure. I don't think there is anything preventing people from using the hot tubs. Do the jets go all the time? Is there a timer there that guests can set?

:)

Natebenma- thanks for all your hard work on the list!!! Looks great!

Thank you!

:goodvibes

Natbenma I forgot to tell u the dates when we will be at the yacht club. We will b there may 18-25. We r staying garden view! Thank you for such a warm welcome everyone!!!

Here's a somewhat relevant post from "Other Useful Information" on Page 1- Although as you will read, it is really a non-answer. No way to predict the weather you will have during the winter months since things change quickly and drastically.

My trip is in December (November/January/February). Will it be warm enough to swim in SAB?

That depends. Where are you from?

The weather and temperature in Florida can vary greatly in the winter months. One day you are bundled up in coat and wool hat. The next you are in shorts. You can have extreme conditions in the same week.

The pools at Disney are all heated. The problem is usually not when you are in the pool, but it is the air temperature when you get out. Make sure you have a towel close by.

There is certainly a chance that one or more days of your vacation will be warm enough for swimming. As Scar so eloquently sings in the Lion King "Be Prepared!"

Pack your swimsuit and hope for the best!
