Thanks for the post! Thanks to your heads-up I got a FP+ reservation for 10/27. I was able to choose between a FP+ where I pick what to eat ahead of time, or a FP+ that is just an "expedited arrival" reservation that didn't make me pick what to eat. If you didn't want to pick what you want to eat yet (and let's face it--who really knows what they want to eat over a month in advance :lmao:) you could try to go back in and modify your reservation. Just wanted to let you know you might have that option if you want it.

Either way, thanks!

Me too! Thanks for posting the BOG FP info.

Very excited that we booked our first stay at the BCV for this May! We had a stay already booked at AKV for 8 days and decided to come into town a few days early so we booked the BCV for May 8th to 10th before we transfer over to Jambo House. May only be for two nights but hey, I can't wait!!!

There will not be a blender in the room. I don't know if Mousekeeping will bring one up if you request it. If you don't get an answer here, you can post that on the DVC Mousecellaneous Boards. They should be able to tell you.

Your other post mentioned Mousekeeping. Did you book through CRO or are you staying on points? If you booked through CRO you get daily Mousekeeping. If you are staying on points (yours or someone else's), the schedule depends on how long you are staying. 7 nights or less: Trash & Towel service on Day 4. 7 nights or more: full cleaning on Day 4, Trash & Towel service on Day 8.

I think they're supposed to replace toiletries during either of those services. I guess I haven't paid much attention, because I always bring my own (or have them in my Owner's Locker).

And FYI, there is a garbage room on each DVC floor. You can take your trash out whenever you want, you don't have to wait for Mousekeeping to do it.

Oh drat I thought I had read an inventory list somewhere and there was a blender. Am packing right now and am trying to not bring any checked luggage to avoid the ridiculous $25 per bag per way which just started recently in Canada. I doubt I could bring an immersion blender in a carry on bag lol

Is there a phone number for the actual beach club villas? To ask about a blender?

I rented points so i can't just call member services and request one. Need to get healthy protein and greens into the kids every day :(

No there's not. You'll have to bring one with you or request one when you check in.

dansdad or others- are there blenders available to request from housekeeping? That would be cool and the easiest solution***

Are you making a grocery stop on the way from the airport to the resort (where are you purchasing those healthy greens for the kids?) If you go to Super Walmart or Target, you could probably pick up a cheap blender there and leave it behind. Not sure if that would be strong enough to do what you need it to.

The other possibility is shipping a box to the resort in advance of your trip. Our advice is to use the US Postal Service to avoid delivery to the convention center, which charges a handling fee. Does anyone have experience with shipping charges to the Yacht or Beach Club from Canada?

*** ETA:

This is the information I have in the BVC post on page 1. I really don't have any direct experience with the villas, so this is all information that has been provided throughout the years by others:

Items Available Upon Request and Based on Availability
Bed Rails, Blender, Decaf Coffee, Electric Mixer, Hangers, High Chair, Pillows
Salt and Pepper, Tea, Voltage Converter

Also included initially:
Facial and Bath Soap, Shampoo, Conditioner, Shower Gel.
Towels for Number of Registered Guests.

Hi All!

Sorry if this has been asked before but we'll be staying in a BC deluxe studio villa (thru CRO not points) next month and I was hoping someone knew if the studio fridges have a freezer section. Also, are they the same size as the mini fridge you'd find in a regular room or are they a little bigger? TIA

35 days to go!!!:cool1:

:welcome:

I'll add you to the Be Our Guest list for October.

:cool1:

Bumping your question about the BCV studio fridge. I have requested pictures in the previous post.

As I recall, it is more like a freezer shelf. Big enough for a couple of trays of ice cubes but not much else.

Ah! Thank you! I was so excited that the link finally worked after a month of clicking on it and nothing that I didn't even think to take the time to explore!

Does anyone know if you can use that link for more than one date throughout your trip?

I get an error, any advice?

"Please ensure that the Reservation ID and names entered below match exactly with your Reservation details."

I've definitely got the right resort reservation number and I've tried both names that it could be under?

I had the SAME issue! Since i booked through a travel agent, I contacted her. We found out that our surname was spelled incorrectly (whose error, i have no idea). If you booked through an agent, I would contact them or contact Disney directly to see if they can help.

Please let us know if you have any questions.

Thanks much!

Not any better ... hope the antibiotics kick in soon. I'm going into work but loaded with pain pills so I can talk. Throat, jaw, ear ... everything hurts. UGH.

Ugh! So sorry! I feel like the creepy crud is circulating around here too. Drink lots of fluid!!! :-)

Wait....think I misunderstood.....it's early and I haven't had my coffee yet. LOL
I was getting an error when retrieving our reservation, not with BOG. Sorry...

3 weeks from today we leave!!!!
I made a few small purchases yesterday in preparation for WDW. I don't know where I read this tip, but it was a great one for our family: pack a small collapsible laundry hamper. For our family of 4 (2 boys-5 & 3) this made a lot of sense to me (as in why haven't I thought of this). I found one for $5 yesterday. And with 2 additional trips (2 cruises on DCL) coming up within the next year, it was a great small investment.
Also picked up a 3oz bottle that I later filled with dish soap. I also read that tip on the boards somewhere. Genius idea because I don't like washing the cups out every night with hand soap. Bleck!

Not sure if anyone has updated the laundry situation or not but this was my experience from 9/6 - 9/16. The indoor laundry had working washers but the dryers were broken. There was a sign posted telling you to use the quiet pool laundry for the dryers.
Used the quiet pool location and did not notice any out of order signs.

I am so sorry. As a music teacher who also has to use her voice for hours at a time, I am feeling your pain, Teena. I hope those meds kick in VERY soon!

I'm just going to throw a few tips in that I have found helpful during trips with little ones...

With regard to your circumstances, the other thing that I find essential is a bottle of liquid hand soap for the bathroom. When my guys were little they didn't handle the bar soap all that well. The other thing that is essential is the multi outlet power strip for charging all of the devices.

Often overlooked are the "behavioral modification" phone numbers that you need to program into your phone. These are especially handy for those inevitable meltdowns of children and husbands alike. The first number to program is a fake one labeled KID JAIL. Since you have a set of early and non reading children it's important to do a pre-show and make a big stink about how you have THIS number (shows them) in your phone and you will not hesitate to use it if someone gets cranky, stops listening or is fighting with their sibling.

During this warning talk you must unfurl an amazing yarn of how once this number is dialed you must escort your children to KID JAIL where there is no Disney, no TV's, no Nintendo and NO TOYS!! You sit on a chair with your hands folded and they only serve Brussel Spouts and Lima beans for meals.

Now for the husband you will have a number in your phone labeled HUSBAND JAIL. When you press this number big burly women will forcibly escort your husband to Downtown Disney where they will chain him to a Dooney & Bourke display and force him to sell handbags to throngs of unruly women who are foaming at the mouth in their ecstasy of attaining this expensive treasure. While this is going on you will be running unfettered through all the stores, spending to your hearts content. This thought alone is enough to put the fear of God into any husband.

The trick here is to be bold and recognize when the opportunity is presented! If you have a cranky husband AND cranky kids do not be reluctant to deploy these numbers and free yourself from these family curmudgeons. This will enable you to enjoy Disney ALL BY YOURSELF, which is what every Mother secretly dreams about. Visualize yourself riding It's a Small World as many times as YOU like! Dream of browsing ALL the shops to YOUR HEARTS CONTENT, free of the restraints of family or finances!

Getting your family to understand that you WILL pull the trigger and employ these behavioral modification tools is the key to a happy Disney trip! Once everybody is on the same page about the consequences of being crabby at Disney the trip is going to go a lot smoother with a lot more restraint.

Have a great trip and remember that if things go badly and you haven't managed to quarantine the family in time out and get some "Mom time" there is always a shot at a 'do over' for the next trip!

;)
