Getting ready to leave for the airport. Can't wait to start this vacation.:beach:

I plan on taking pictures to share when I get back.

Thanks for all of your help with my planning.

Big news!!! We were going to cruise on Disney in October but Bob this afternoon just said, "let's cruise to Hawaii instead." Three hours later, I had it all booked and Southwest Airlines has a super sale and we're only paying $139 each way to San Diego. Found a nice hotel near the pier and booked that. It offers free transportation from airport and then to ship the next day. I can't believe I'm going to Hawaii. We fly out on November 20th and back on December 6th so we'll be having Turkey Day on the ship.

What fun! Bob seems to be pretty spontaneous. Have a fabulous time.:banana:

Hi Mom and Mom's friends!

This is Dee's (natebenma) son Ben.

I am subscribing to this thread.

I just started my first trip report from our July trip. It's called "Not My Mama's Trip Report"

Talk to you later.

Can't wait to read it! Welcome aboard.

We stop at Honolulu, Oahu; Lahaina, Maui; Kailua Kona; sail by Mount Kilauea and stop at Hilo.

Teena: Congrats on the Hawaii cruise!!!

I really think Bob and Richard need to hang out...............so Bob can convince Richard to give a cruise a try!!!!

Can't wait to hear all about this one!!

We're going to arrive at the Beach Club for our very first Disney Vacation in just 12 days, staying from the 18th to the 25th, and I want to express my very sincere thanks to everyone on Disboards and this thread in particular for helping me to prepare for it.

I really took a deep dive and read a lot of stuff, listened to the Disunplugged podcasts, read at least 4 versions of this thread and got a few important questions answered.

I've already done online check in for our Garden view room, and I feel confident about our choice of the Beach Club, but I do keep reading various things about some rooms/halls being in less than new condition, so I only hope that such posters' standards are a LOT higher than mine, or that its just a few rooms that need the refurbishment very badly, because my wife's idea of camping is a 3 star hotel.

Anyway, I've got great expectations for the trip. Going to MNNSHP, have got our MagicBands and FastPass+ reservations made, bought PhotoPass+, and now it all comes down to the room and the weather. My son has autism, and while our FastPass+ reservations ought to take care of most needs, I'm hopeful that we can get a Guest Assistance Card that will help us out if we get into any unbearable situations, though we chose our visit time based on the lack of crowds, and because its our 20th anniversary!

Looking forward to a great stay - I will provide a recap and maybe some pix when we get back.

Just to maybe set your mind at ease.....my 7 year old son is on the autism spectrum. We stayed at the Beach Club from 8/26 to 9/2. We got a GAC for him the first night of arrival, I put it in my bag and then never had to take it out again. With fast pass use and following the crowd calendar Josh provides at easywdw.com, we never had to wait more than 15 minutes for any single ride. It was probably one of the easiest trips we ever had with him. Since you are going in September, I would think you will have an even easier time of it than we did since the crowds will have thinned out even more.

Also, a tip: Sometimes the lines at Guest Services inside the parks can be very, very long and you waste a lot of time standing in line in the morning to get the GAC. If you can possibly do it, go to the Guest Services window just outside of the International Gateway entrance for Epcot. No line whatsoever and you don't even need to go through the park entrance to get to it. We went the afternoon of our arrival......five minute walk from the Beach Club and getting the GAC itself took us a grand total of two minutes.

I also wrote this on the cake thread, but I'm looking for some options. My DD will be turning 7 during our trip in 2 weeks and I'd like to order a cake. There are 10 of us, so I need a 10 inch or so.

That night we have an ADR at Garden Grill. Is it better to get the cake for there or have it back at the resort? We will be at BCV and have plenty of space in the fridge to store it.

I think GG might be good as it may bring her more attention on her special day. But, then we may be full at the end of the meal. We would Los have to carry it round if we decide to do some things in the park afterwards. The room would be more low key, but if we wait until the end of the night, it might top off her special day. What do you think?

We've had two birthday parties for our grandson on two of our stays at the BCV's. Once when he was one year old and once when he was three. We had both parties in the villa. The table is very convenient for it. We had balloons and they provided party hats and some other birthday stuff. I think both times we had the party in the afternoon. We had nine people at the party, some of whom were staying at a different resort. That way we could open presents and have a nice break from the parks, and it seemed like more of a traditional party than just going to a restaurant would be. :)

Need a new ticker...

We are planning not one, but TWO trips to BC!

First trip will be Food & Wine/MNSSHP next October, then Princess Half Marathon weekend Feb. 2015!

:cheer2:

Oh, Matt... you will all have the most wonderful time! :goodvibes Your choice of resorts can't be beat for a first visit and you have done all your homework! Remember to come back to the resort in the afternoons to give your DS a chance to decompress too. Won't hurt Mom and Dad a bit, either. ;) I hope it is a magical as your dreams have made it. pixiedust:

Have a marvelous time!!

NM is still cranky from her Gall bladder surgery. Laparoscopic surgery is WAY over rated!
Resting up from surgery is a big bore, too. :crazy2:

Buzzy is here taking care of me but I am about to kick him out. He is hogging up our bandwidth playing poker all day on Facebook. No one can talk to him when his soap operas are on and God help us when 'Dancing with the Stars' starts because we'll never pry him away from the TV. His only saving grace is that he doesn't eat much!

~NM

Buzzy would be "outta here" if he tried to share my chocolate. :rolleyes1

NM - I'm glad to see that your sense of humor is still intact. ;)

Dang 'twin-nie'! We should coordinated our time better.

I'm there late September. Have a great trip.

(Nice to see you!)

:wave2: I'm happy to see you too. I've been spending all my Dis Time on the resorts & restaurant boards. After this trip, I really need to get back to the Community board & the Old Fogies.

Sorry we won't be there at the same time. Hope you have a wonderful vacation & safe travels. :goodvibes I remember there were several Dissers who were trying to meet then. Is that still happening?

Hi everyone! Two questions? What wait time apps do you like for your phones while in the park?

Also, where is a good spot to lounge at the SAB that might have a shade option for DH. Our kids are 13/11/7 and great swimmers however I want my eyes on them.

Thanks! Getting soooooo excited!
