I saw on another post that Disney has changed the boats at Pirates of the Carib and that people are now getting wet. For anyone that is there and done this ride, is this true?

Definitely new boats. I couldn't remember specifically getting wet, but I asked my son and he said one of our 3 or 4 rides we got wet. Not Splash-soaked, but wetter than we have in the past.

The Aquatics shampoo, conditioner and shower gel. Whatever they have.....my daughters like it too.

I do a lot of shopping online at Amazon.com
I put in Aquatics in the search window and it came up with lots of products from Aquatics and H2O.

Well, this trip has pretty much been a bust for us. While things looked promising as of Tuesday night with my oldest feeling better, that changed quickly by Wednesday afternoon. Whatever she caught is not going away. While we managed to make it over to MK yesterday morning (our first full morning at a park), by the time we made our O'Hana dinner reservation, she was sick again and couldn't eat. Same happened this morning, woke up fine, we head over to AK, and by time we made our dinner res. at Narcoosee's, she was sick and couldn't eat. She's completely devastated and I'm just sad for her. Anyone who knows our family knows that she and I are the "Disney fanatics" so to see her so upset about not being able to enjoy this trip just plain sucks!

I do have to say that all the CL staff have been wonderful & am grateful that we are at least staying here vs. a moderate (which I originally had booked) since we have spent a lot of our time both in the room with her & at the resort itself. The upside is that we have a great view of the higher wishes fireworks from our room so at least she hasn't missed that. Plus, we keep telling her two things: 1. It could be so much worse and 2. There's always next year...

How sad for you and DD! Well, it sounds like she was able to get out and enjoy the parks a bit anyway despite her feeling sick. SO disappointing.

Hello everyone--lurker coming out of hiding to say that this thread ROCKS!! I have a split stay WL/BC at the end of October, and was just coming on to post a question about whether anyone had experience with a split stay between a non-testing resort and BC, and lo and behold I see this:

I'm still 62 days out from our trip, so our FP+ window isn't open yet, but I'm trying to figure it all out in the next couple of days. I'm particularly curious as to whether you even tried to book any FP+ for the days you are at WL. I'm asking because my MDE FP+ page shows all our days, not just our BC days. Since we still aren't in the booking window, I can't test it out myself.

I figure if my tickets are linked to the MagicBand, then I'll have it/be using it before we get to the BC--unless they also put our tickets on our WL KTTW card. I did look at the FP+ threads and searched for split stay information, but it looked like all the info was for two resorts that were both testing.

I just don't know how this will work--any info is appreciated. This might just have to be an "experiment and see" situation.

I can't guarantee, but we spent one night at Pop and got the MBs there, and again another set at YC. We were told that either band would work for our room at both Pop and YC, and both would work for park tickets and charging. That was pretty cool... I tried the Pop band on the YC door and it did work.

I saw on another post that Disney has changed the boats at Pirates of the Carib and that people are now getting wet. For anyone that is there and done this ride, is this true?

Didn't seem any different to me last Sunday! After the drop there is always a possibility that you will get wet.

I had an AMAZING walk around WS on our last full day. It was so hot that I could feel the bottoms of my feet getting hot through my running shoes! Kids got sunburned at TL but had a great day in the wave pool.

We had the preferred seating for the parade on our last night, right across from the castle so that you had a view of the castle behind the floats. It was fabulous. Not crowded... Then we did the preferred seating for Wishes and it was on the lawn of the Rose Garden. Amazing.

Afterwards, one family hit BTMR and I took the girls to SM (DH took DS back to the YC since he was exhausted!)

Left yesterday in a deluge of rain, which made leaving seem better. Had an irritating last day at Downtown Disney but I DID buy the new D&B backpack (material feels cheaper, but it has a rainbow zipper so it's all good. LOL). Went to Rainforest Cafe for lunch and got seated in minutes, and had a great server, but then they had a terrible time with the MBs and figuring out how to charge them. I ended up waiting over 20 minutes just to get the final cheque to sign! Ridiculous. Then it was raining, so the boat to West Side wasn't running. We jumped on a bus, but that took longer, and then we had a terrible time trying to get in to DQ with the MBs. They don't have the Mickey Head posts so they were using the iPads with WiFi. They said that we should have been told to bring our KTTW cards with us at all times as well. We were never told that! Anyway, after another 20 minute the WiFi and iPad finally cooperated and we got in. Unfortunately, those delays ended up costing us an hour of our DQ time so we were only in there about an hour. Got a cab back to maximize our time and made the Magical Depress on time. Totally painless time at the Orlando airport, and lovely flight to Toronto. We're here another week, then home!

Working on my notes for my "shiner" TR. LOL

No idea when I'll be back, but I will make it happen in the next couple of years! :)

We have a reservation for ohana at 5:05 this evening. What time should we leave BC with our own car?

We have CMC reservations (both a breakfast and dinner) earlier in the stay, so I was thinking of doing something else. Recommendations? We're not on the DP so it would be at Swan and Dolphin too. I'm just concerned that most of the places I'm thinking of may be a bit too "adult" for my 4 yos and 6 yo.

Cape May Cafe for dinner will not be too adult at all for your kids. They have a kid's height counter with mac and cheese, and either chicken or fish strips, and there is cheese pizza, too. But my 5 year old grandson preferred the crab legs. He loved them and my sister, his great aunt, spent a lot of time getting the meat out of the legs for him. ;) He said they were his new favorite food. :goodvibes There was plenty of food for the 3 year old, too. It is nice to give them some fresh fruit for a change. :)

We are back from our first stay at the BC...this vacation went too fast for me. So sad that it is over, Disney depression has pretty much set in.

We had a nice time and I thought I would report back some of the pros and cons from our first stay at this resort.

Pros:
We were in room 2524, so we were right above that special walkway to epcot which was wonderful!! Literally 3 minute walk. We also had a good view of illuminations from our juliette balcony. We walked back every night before it even started and watched it from the bridge or our room so we didn't get trampled trying to leave Epcot after it was over. We could also hear the British band at Epcot as well.

I loved that its all connected so even if it was raining and we wanted food, we could just walk down to the marketplace without getting wet.

Boat to DHS, although we did the walk one day, which wasn't bad.

The CMs at check in were very nice, as well as CMs around the property.

POOL!!! Best pool ever!

Loved the themeing in the lobby and hallways.

A working fridge.

We really didn't wait for any buses to MK or DTD. However, one night coming back from DTD we did share with BC, YC, Swan, Dolphin, and BW.

Cons:
I knew marketplace didn't have a huge selection, but it was much more limited than I anticipated.

Our room was a little rundown, peeling wallpaper and whatnot. I also felt that mousekeeping @ CBR was superior...and its silly but we only got 2 towel animals our whole stay.

BUGS!! Our second night my daughter almost had a heartattack b/c there was a huge bug in the bathroom, it honestly looked like a roach with the long antennas (ilk!), hubby killed it, we went to bed. Another one ws found in the room 2 days later, in which my husband then went down, he took a pic of it on his cell to show the front desk. I just wanted to know if this was common bug in Orlando, I wasn't looking for anything, I didn't even care to be moved to another room (it wasn't offered anyway) they said it was common, and we were facing the woods so that was probably why we were getting them. Was wondering if anyone else in that area had any? They said they did not jump or bite. We found a third later into our stay, it was smaller.
Then, when we went to hurricane hannas there had to be a bee hive somewhere by the soda station b/c there was just swarms of them, a little boy got stung and his mom was putting ice on it :( I didn't know it at the time, I thought the poor guy fell, but my hubby told me when we sat and ate that he got stung. I would have offered benadyrl had I known bc I always I have it due to DDs allergy.

They discountinued the BC mugs with mickey on the beach!! Were there when I checked in and a few days later GONE!! I asked CM and she said they were discountinued.

All in all, a good stay, I am sure I will do it again, the convenience to Epcot (the park we usually end up at the most) was just perfect for us.

Were there when rapid refill mugs rolled out, but we didn't get one bc we checked in 2 days prior, BC had various colors of the RR mugs (orange, purple, blue, etc etc.)

Didn't notice any problems with the bands when entering the parks or using FP+.

Yes, my husband said the same thing as soon as we got on. They must have been having a problem with them though, 2 boats in front of us were empty and had green flag on it and before we got off a CM had to jump in both boats and sop up water with rags (leak perhaps?) and they had to do this everytime those 2 boats completed the ride.

Unfortunately, those delays ended up costing us an hour of our DQ time so we were only in there about an hour. Got a cab back to maximize our time and made the Magical Depress on time.

I will now be calling the bus back to the airport "the Magical Depress" from now on! :)

We check into BCV in two weeks and received a letter yesterday about the removal of fridges in the rooms. Yet, the letter didn't actually state that our room won't have one. ??? Can anyone clue me in as to whether or not we will have a mini-fridge in our studio? Thank you!

So sorry she is not feeling better. We had a trip like that this past December. It was terribly disappointing. I hope she starts to feel better soon.

Amen! DP is a scientist (read:nerd) and we did a rolling spreadsheet comparing savings from purchasing the dining plan vs. Tables in Wonderland. Clearly, we had a lot of time on our hands that night, Because we sat and looked at menus for each of the restaurants we had an ADR for and we plotted what we would have and how much it would cost using Tables in Wonderland versus the dining plan. TIW was a no-brained for us.

Also, I believe a standard rule of thumb is that if You are planning to spend 10 or more days at a Disney Park, an annual pass is financially the right choice.

Love the spread sheet. Did the same. I will be going over receipts from our August trip in a few days and will report back, but if I had to guess, I think we saved at least $150 going with aTIW over DDP and this is with two young DDs.

To the uber nerdy types, buy gift cards at Target with their redcard debit card and prescription bonus...so 10% off, then buy the TiW

Friends if ours just did this

I use Disney crds bought from Target too, but will have to check into the prescription discount.

Wow! Look what happens when you miss a week on here. A new thread starts and you're 21 pages in! Looks great Dee! I'm still catching up on life after a Disney trip, but hope to post a quick review when I get a chance.

There is one part where they shooting from the boat and when the "balls" land water shoots into the air. It only a small splash. I was on the inside left side of the boat. I slightly moved and it completely missed me. It's not bad at all

We just got back from AK, man the heat did me in today. We headed back to hit the pool and cool off but it been closed this afternoon because of a chance of a thunderstorm. Oh well, enjoyed having time to relax.

We have reservations at cape may @ 6:30 for dinner can't wait!

Boats were down too! We took the bus back. Didn't want to chance getting stuck in a downpour! We were at DHS.
Lunch at Brown Derby, Cobb Salad is yum!
Returning tonight for dinner at Sci Fi. And TSMM FPs!

It's open again now :) I am currently sitting by the quiet side. Not much sun, but no rain for now.

Rapid Fill mug refill stations at BC/YC will be turned on tomorrow. I hope it doesn't slow down the process. And allows me to mix my lemonade with the brewed ice tea.
Will post on my experience tomorrow!

Or, if you are nerdy with too much time on your hands...

Purchase Walmart/Sam's Club gift cards from your kid's school fundraiser (2.5% of purchase price to school) and then use those gift cards to purchase Disney gift cards there (6% discount)

Ok and if you live in Western PA buy Disney giftcards during giant eagle double fuel perks using your chase rewards card during 5% bonus at Getgo and earn 17% off your gift cards. YEP. I buy 4k over the year and feel like I get a 17% pin on food, rooms, tickets, tours etc. Makes me feel better!

We were at MK we actually got stuck on splash when it broke, we were on there about twenty minutes before they sent two CM's to 'rescue' us! We had to climb off the boats and got to walk through the ride, it was quite fun having a behind the scenes tour! We saw where they keep the parade floats too then got given a FP for any ride at MK.
Sounds like you're having a great time.

So glad all was well. I personally love any kind of behind the scenes stuff.

Ok. I will try to get by there tomorrow. I have been schlepping kids from activity to activity today. Lol.
