Rapid Fill mug refill stations at BC/YC will be turned on tomorrow. I hope it doesn't slow down the process. And allows me to mix my lemonade with the brewed ice tea.
Will post on my experience tomorrow!

Thanks for letting us know and promising to report back. Good point about mixing drinks! Could also be an issue for someone who wants to combine regular and decaf coffee in one mug (don't get the wrong idea- NOT ME!)

How do you know where to go for the reserved area for parade/wishes? Is it posted at the front of the park or something?

Oh and for anyone concerned about the large bugs, they are Palmetto bugs. Extremely common to Florida.

I found a first hand report of the rapid refill mugs. It looks like it's smart enough to know how much is in the cup, so you can mix different drinks until you reach the cup's capacity. That's pretty cool!

Ugg, is this the season for the bugs?! I arrive in 9 days :)

I think you're thinking about the love bugs and they are around usually in May and September. It's a Florida thing.

When you make your reservation it says preferred viewing at... So ours said Rose garden (I didn't notice anyone actually on the grass just I the walkways so I must have been blind!). There are signs there saying FastPass+ too.

Great! Thanks for the info. :)

Been to animal kingdom today the wait times were minimal, Kali river rapids was 5 minutes if that and we went on EE twice in a row and walks straight on, it's the first time I've been on it so got a shock when we started going backwards! Had dinner at Yak and Yeti which was nice. Just sat on the balcony before we go for a swim in SAB then hoping to go to MK for EMH if we can stay awake!
I've accessorised our elephant towel animal, today we got the animal on the left, I think its a sausage dog?

I saw on another post that Disney has changed the boats at Pirates of the Carib and that people are now getting wet. For anyone that is there and done this ride, is this true?

We did last week. I got less wet than 2 years ago before the refurb. I sat in the front seat too!

Oh do please let us know that! I drink only unsweetened ice tea or coffee from the mugs and my hubby makes the same Arnold Palmer you do.....I have been wondering if they were still included in the mug and if it really allowed mixing:confused3...Can't wait to hear how you make out!

I mix the sweetened and unsweetened ice teas together. I'm curious how they're making this work with the Gold Peak dispensers, since those are separate from the soda machines. Would you let us know please? Thanks!

We are back from our first stay at the BC...this vacation went too fast for me. So sad that it is over, Disney depression has pretty much set in.

We had a nice time and I thought I would report back some of the pros and cons from our first stay at this resort.

Pros:
We were in room 2524, so we were right above that special walkway to epcot which was wonderful!! Literally 3 minute walk. We also had a good view of illuminations from our juliette balcony. We walked back every night before it even started and watched it from the bridge or our room so we didn't get trampled trying to leave Epcot after it was over. We could also hear the British band at Epcot as well.

I loved that its all connected so even if it was raining and we wanted food, we could just walk down to the marketplace without getting wet.

Boat to DHS, although we did the walk one day, which wasn't bad.

The CMs at check in were very nice, as well as CMs around the property.

POOL!!! Best pool ever!

Loved the themeing in the lobby and hallways.

A working fridge.

We really didn't wait for any buses to MK or DTD. However, one night coming back from DTD we did share with BC, YC, Swan, Dolphin, and BW.

Cons:
I knew marketplace didn't have a huge selection, but it was much more limited than I anticipated.

Our room was a little rundown, peeling wallpaper and whatnot. I also felt that mousekeeping @ CBR was superior...and its silly but we only got 2 towel animals our whole stay.

BUGS!! Our second night my daughter almost had a heartattack b/c there was a huge bug in the bathroom, it honestly looked like a roach with the long antennas (ilk!), hubby killed it, we went to bed. Another one ws found in the room 2 days later, in which my husband then went down, he took a pic of it on his cell to show the front desk. I just wanted to know if this was common bug in Orlando, I wasn't looking for anything, I didn't even care to be moved to another room (it wasn't offered anyway) they said it was common, and we were facing the woods so that was probably why we were getting them. Was wondering if anyone else in that area had any? They said they did not jump or bite. We found a third later into our stay, it was smaller.
Then, when we went to hurricane hannas there had to be a bee hive somewhere by the soda station b/c there was just swarms of them, a little boy got stung and his mom was putting ice on it :( I didn't know it at the time, I thought the poor guy fell, but my hubby told me when we sat and ate that he got stung. I would have offered benadyrl had I known bc I always I have it due to DDs allergy.

They discountinued the BC mugs with mickey on the beach!! Were there when I checked in and a few days later GONE!! I asked CM and she said they were discountinued.

All in all, a good stay, I am sure I will do it again, the convenience to Epcot (the park we usually end up at the most) was just perfect for us.

Were there when rapid refill mugs rolled out, but we didn't get one bc we checked in 2 days prior, BC had various colors of the RR mugs (orange, purple, blue, etc etc.)

Didn't notice any problems with the bands when entering the parks or using FP+.

Glad you had a great trip! Love the quick walk to Epcot:)

I will now be calling the bus back to the airport "the Magical Depress" from now on! :)

yeah, it is so sad:worried:
Boats were down too! We took the bus back. Didn't want to chance getting stuck in a downpour! We were at DHS.
Lunch at Brown Derby, Cobb Salad is yum!
Returning tonight for dinner at Sci Fi. And TSMM FPs!

Love the Cobb salad :thumbsup2

Who would want decaf coffee. Defeats the purpose:confused3

ON TOPIC Trip Report Promotion-

Just wanted to let you know that I posted pictures of my Beach Club room (5709) and views in my Hijinks trip report (page 20). My arrival and check in chapter is on Page 19

So as most of you know, Teena is out in Las Vegas this week to help her daughter set up her classroom. Well, the area is currently under Tropical Storm conditions! They are not used to that out in the desert! It is getting tough for them to get around with drainage issues. If you can't escape a tropical storm when you're visiting Vegas, then you are out of luck!

The reserved section for the parade is right in front of the castle across the walkway/street.

The Rose Garden is just to the right from there. Both very easy to find even for me (directionally challenged). My DD was complaining that the grass was very "pointy" to sit on for that part. First world problems much? The grass in our preferred sitting area for Magic Kingdom fireworks is pointy. :rotfl:

It is a hard life, enduring the luxury of Disney. :lmao:

I just got back from the World yesterday. I am 100% a Poly girl. Hubby talked me into staying at YC this time. We thought we would love it but my whole family was disappointed. If you truly love the Poly, I suggest you arrange your vacation time so that you can stay there. We ended up transferring after 2 nights at the YC because we weren't really happy. The pool was crazy, walking to our room was a pain (tons of twists and turns with no shortcuts), the Marketplace was a nightmare every time we walked in (and it was farrrr from our room), the convenience of walking to HS and Epcot wasn't as great as we hoped, the maids were yelling down the hallways at 7am, there was trash on our ugly rooftop view (a parking lot view at Poly is better than the hideous rooftop at YC), and we didn't find the resort magical feeling like the Poly. I know a lot of people here are cringing at my post because they love the YC/BC. It's different strokes for different folks though. As a Poly lover, YC doesn't measure up IMO. You may love it there though so give it a try. As the concierge told me, there are a lot of resorts in WDW because everyone has different tastes. They didn't take offense when we asked to change resorts. They were just happy to make us happy. I loved the YC staff. Good luck on your decision!
FWIW, I truly love the Poly and love BC/YC almost as much.

So much depends on the individual.

The pool at the Poly is quite often crazy (and in my experience just as or more crazy than SAB at BC/YC). I found the walk to Epcot and boat to the studios just as (and even moreso) convenient than the monorail at the Poly (given the monorail repair issues). I love the Poly long houses but dislike walking in the rain to get food/coffee and appreciate that the BC/YC resorts have everything under one roof (even if its a hike depending on room location).

Different strokes for different folks. I suppose I want to say that not everyone who loves the Poly loves it for the same reasons...my advice to the OP is to look at what you like about the Poly, think about what you *don't like* about it...and look really closely at the YC with those things in mind.

Checked in a couple hours ago after driving from Minneapolis. my SV room is 4150 and overlooks the gazebo. Looking left from my balcony I see right across the lagoon at the boardwalk. Me thinks I was upgraded. Good start to the week. For real cribs for my twins and not pack and plays. They'll work. Magic bands opened the room and opened the entrance gate so 2 for 2. Testing them at Epcot later today
