What do you think the chances are there will be another Point Reallocation for 2012 points?

If I had a guess I would say not this year unless they get rid of the more point requirements to stay Fri and Sat I just don't see how it would be done.

I would say 75% chance there will be another reallocation...possibly between seasons more then just between weeknights/weekends.

i hope they take a break this year.

i can only imagine how agitated many members would be if they moved early december into a more expensive season...

I don't believe they are going to make any more reallocations to lower weekend points and raise weekday as they did in the last two years.

The question is whether they will try to make some changes to seasons, e.g., by moving early to mid- December from adventure to choice season. The major problem/barrier they face to doing that is what do they move in turn from a higher to lower point season to assure not raising the total number of points applicable to the resort. My best guess/hope at this time is that nothing will change for 2012.

I wonder if they are trending toward a weekly point value with all days the same. I don't think we've seen the finished product. Moving seasons could happen if they really want to equalize demand.

What about the possibility that they (the DVC powers that be) will shift points to change the number of BLT rooms classified as MK View and Standard View?

This seems to be an issue mentioned frequently on the BLT threads (room classifications).

I don't think changing the points for seasons would make much difference -- people go when they can go, and they don't go when they don't want to go. Reducing the points cost in September, for example wouldn't bring anyone else in, I don't think. (At least not if they've ever been in Central Florida in September!!!:rotfl2:)

I don't think we have enough of a grasp on the occupancies for weekends/weekdays or between different sizes of units to really make intelligent guesses.

I'm sure if DVC sees some financial benefit to reallocating, they won't hesitate for a second.

Charles, you go right to the bathroom and WASH YOUR MOUTH OUT WITH SOAP!!!

I agree more weekday/weekend realocations are unlikely, now moving some days between seasons is certainly a possibility as are more reallocations for preferred views or services.

Short term (2012-13) I'd say little chance of a change other than changing seasons which they clearly need to do making ALL of Dec a higher season, at least Dream if not Magic other than the Premier time already in place. Long term I'd say they will have to swing the pendulum back the other way at some point unless they institute a minimum stay of some sort.
