2012? No Problem...but when?

:banana::banana: How fun that you are going to get to go to Disney with your friends. Your plans sound great. Please keep us up to date on your plans. Does Princess Noni know she is headed for WDW?

SHE KNOWS! At church this morning she whispered to me that she was going to Disney....when I told her I knew that she told me I was her fairy godmother!

I can not tell you how excited I am!

Although at this point, it looks like I am not the only fairy godmother involved in this trip!

Like, like, like, like.... SUPER CUTE!!!!

But remember...even rain at Disney is better than no rain at home!

I've only been once during this time of year ( and we froze) but in the fall...we generally have rain in the forecast every single day... but it usually only becomes sprinkles...and generally nothing to worry about. I think we have only had serious rain once each trip...and it was either at night or on a non park day! I guess we have been pretty lucky!

Nini

Thanks for the encouraging words. Last year was so miserable, when I got home I didn't really feel like I'd been to Disney. I'm telling myself that the 15 day forecast isn't too accurate, and like you said hopefully rain will only last a short time. Last year I got drenched one day. :sad1:

I priced what it would cost to switch to the Grand Floridian -- thinking at least there would be a lobby to sit in, lots of restaurants, a view of the MK, etc. It would be over $5,000 to change. :scared1:

Come on :beach:

Maybe I'll spend the week monorailing from Grand Floridian to Contemporary to Poly over and over.

I'm sooooooooo tired of being cold home (I keep the heat at 68°) that I'd really, really, really like some warm weather in Florida -- and preferrably dry, too.

:upsidedow <---- a girl can dream

Cheryl... Maybe you should switch to the following week. :) I do own an umbrella...

Now I want to talk about Cameras!

Mr D is obsessed with cameras! At his older sister's wedding (almost 5 years ago...wow I'm old!) he grabbed my camera and took some of the best candid pictures of the whole wedding. In fact, the professional photographer that we paid MONEY for, stole some of his ideas for some of the candid. He told me that he was a natural! (I have to admit, it was kinda cute watching him arrange and rearrange the baskets to get a good picture!)

However, he is really, really rough on them! His sister got a camera for our Disney trip ... almost 4 years ago. She has finally tore that one up.

I have a half way decent point and shoot, but it is showing its age and has already been to Disney about 4 times as well.

For Easter, I like to get the kids a gift instead of a candy filled basket... especially since Mr D cannot have candy. I am thinking of getting Miss B a camera, getting me a new one and giving my old one to Mr D. (and don't worry, Mr D will get a new Mobigo game and think he came out on top!)

For Miss B I need a decent cheap point and shoot. Nothing fancy. She only takes pictures because she sees everyone else take them. Not because she has any desire to see what she creates, or to save any memories. Maybe some day...but probably not!

I need a camera to take pictures at Disney...but also I need it to take decent pictures of the clothes I make so I can list on Facebook and Etsy. (I know nothing about photography...except that I stink at it! LOL!

Truthfully, I want to stay under $10 for both...but I know I will have to add a zero to that! LOL!

Seriously, does any one have any suggestions for us?

We have always participated in a photo pass group ... but this time we will be on our own. No photo pass...no group....just us! My son and DIL (as well as my oldest daughter) all have fantastic cameras and are great photographers...but none of them will be traveling with us this trip!

And.... in another note... We have Friday family Disney movie and Pizza night each week to count down the number of weeks left. Yesterday i bought the blue ray edition of Dumbo! This is amazing, because although my mom told me I had seen it...I don't remember it! None of my kids have seen it! We are planning a great big ole family party night with a circus theme! I can hardly wait!

Well, I'd tell you that I love my Cannon Power Shot Elph 300hs... but the name is very close to the price tag ($300)... It's a great little camera though.

I know that Liddy will be by here - she just did a bunch of camera comparisons, and she did end up with my camera, as well. But she might be able to tell you a better one for your price range.

I know they are way out of your price range ... but there are some really good P&S cameras that are shock-resistant and such. I think most brands have one, and I think I found one in the $150-ish range ... it's shock, water, freeze, and dust resistant. It had high MP, but can't recall off the top of my head. I want to say 14.2MP and a 5x optical zoom? I could be mistaken ... I do know the range of the resistances were pretty high. My DH could hold it above his head and drop it and it would be okay (IIRC).

Anyway, just a suggestion ... which is waay, waay out of the $10 price range. :lmao:

edit: The cheapest camera on my list was about $100 on sale. But if you want something that Mr. D can use and not have to worry about, I'd definitely recommend one of the shock-resistant ones. VERY durable! :)

Andrea... Thanks for joining. Lately this has become more of a soap opera than a Disney trip report. I've got to get back to the Disney planning! It is so much more fun!

Nini
Lucky for you I like soap operas :) I never watch them anymore though -- no time!

My goodness. It's been a while since I've been called a tiny little birdie. :lovestruc

I don't see them on Les Chefs de France menu anymore. I'd like to see Remy strut his stuff, but the $$$$ there keeps making me think twice. And once I thought three times!

As of Friday she's now joined Tigger and Tiny in kitty heaven. :sad1:
:sad1: I am so sorry Squeaky is no longer with you. We have a 16 year old who I fear will not be around too much longer. He's my dd's buddy so she will be devastated when he goes. Then again, he's pretty healthy except for throwing up all the time which he's done for the past few years.

I want to see Remy. I even made dd an outfit to wear for our trip this March -- you know, the trip that isn't happening. Would you like to borrow the outfit. The pants may be like shorts on you. You said you had a 20" waist correct -- you are a tiny birdie!

I've become such a tightwad in my old age, that I'm going on a solo Cheapskates Ofthe World (COW) trip. Staying at All Star Sports (I HATE Sports, but it's the only value I haven't stayed at. I kinda wanted to stay at POR, but I kept telling myself that I could choose either one, but if I chose All Star it would be like checking in and finding $400 on my bed. Next year I'll have to stay at POR because there won't be any more values. ((I'm working my way through the resorts: I've been to Pop, ASMu, ASMo, CBR (many times), AKL and OKW.))

Gonna be there Feb. 27 through March 5. I really felt as though I had to go before D~ so I could track down all of the Donalds and prepare them for D~'s visit.

Have a few reservations for chow: Tony's at MK which I've never been to, LaHacienda (did someone say margaritas?) at Epcot, Boma for dinner, Sci-Fi for dinner, and my traditional Tonga Toast breakfast at the Poly on the last day. Also thinking about Beaches and Cream (never been there) for lunch some day and some other spot for dinner.

It seems like meal prices have been going up lately. I'm thrilled just to be at WDW, and as much as I enjoy the dining experience, I think I probably get as much enjoyment out of a Mickey head ice cream as I do a $$$$$$ dinner. I hate that you have to make reservations so far ahead. It would be much easier to go with the flow.

I did some sewing for my trip. Shhhhhh, don't tell anyone, but I put little pockets in my granny undies for ca$h. I used to put some bills in my shoe, but now that we have to take shoes off for TSA I decided to make little pockets in my undies. I also made a travel wallet. I travel very light. Just my wallet in my front pocket and a cinch sack that by the end of the evening if it's cold I can fold up and put in the pocket of my windbreaker. The wallet has slots for cards, a pocket for the room safe key, a "secret" pocket for larger bills, a small change purse, and a ring in case I ever want to put it on a lanyard.

Since it appears that I'm on the verge of threadjacking, I'll ask a question:

Has anyone ever done the mini golf? Every year I get the free coupon for golf and since it's just me I wouldn't have to buy any additional tickets. (Remember, I'm cheap.) I don't really like mini golf, but I DO like doing things I haven't done before, and I've never done the mini golf at WDW. (Let's review, I HATE sports.) It seems like a bit of a time consuming effort, but I'm curious if people ever play golf and if they like it. Anyone?

I am thoroughly enjoying your ptr! I think yours is just as good as mine if not better. The pockets in the granny panties may may your ptr reign supreme. Besides, D~ keeps putting up photos of bags and her kids on my ptr. The nerve of her!

I like mini golf!

Got the notice that our Income tax refund is in. So, we need to make the final determination as to which time we are going. Are we going to hold out for the free dining (so if FD isn't offered at Nov/Dec than we will go in Sept/Oct) or go with the dates we want.

Nini
Tax refund!!!! Geez, I wish dh would even bother to do our taxes.

I'm excited that you will be having a princess on your trip with you! Keep us posted on the details as they develop. When did she go on her wish trip?

Princess Noni took her MAW trip when she was 4. She is 10 now, so it has been about 6 years. Since then she has added two brothers to her family!

I just realized...I need to update my ticker...I have only 213 days and 10 hours before I head out to Disney...I better get started!

We've gone through the throwing up stuff on and off for quite some time. We had been watching her for signs that she wasn't feeling well, we could tell she was losing weight. When her "dad" was snowboarding in Oregon she also went downhill (ha ha) so we finally took her to the vet.

I'm wondering if I could wear it like a clown collar. It might be my neck that's closer to 20" than my birdlike (think ostrich) waist.

They really are quite practical. I'm thinking of featuring them in my etsy shop. (D~'s gonna shoot herself for spending hours on UPBs when slapping a pocket on panties is where the buck bucks are!!!)

I like mini golf!

I don't, buy I may have to try it at Disney with the FREE coupon.

Tax refund!!!! Geez, I wish dh would even bother to do our taxes.

We have our appointment with the tax lady tomorrow. It's always like a game show to find out if we owe or get back. Some day our financial stuff will settle down.

I'm trying to do the math to figure out if Noni could add any more brothers (or sisters) to the family in the next 213 days and 10 hours. It's too cold to take off my shoes so I can count on my toes, but I THINK it's too late to add any siblings to the trip.

That was some time ago! I can't believe MAW wouldn't help with another trip since she was sick on hers -- then again, there are a lot of sick kids who need the chance for wishes. It sounds like GKTW might be willing to provide some assistance though and that is awesome. Speaking of GKTW, I have a bunch more fabric to make pillow cases and no time to make them!

We've gone through the throwing up stuff on and off for quite some time. We had been watching her for signs that she wasn't feeling well, we could tell she was losing weight. When her "dad" was snowboarding in Oregon she also went downhill (ha ha) so we finally took her to the vet.

We had our last cat put down when I noticed she was barely eating -- and I made the vet weigh her before he put her down to confirm it was time to say goodbye. It was time. We still have her sister though and her sister adjusted well. She is 5 years old. It's our fat tabby that's old -- although he appears to be losing a little weight too. I haven't taken him in for a check up since $$$ is tight right now. I know you can relate Miss Pocket in the Panties.

I'm wondering if I could wear it like a clown collar. It might be my neck that's closer to 20" than my birdlike (think ostrich) waist.
Well, the part with Remy is actually an apron so you could wear that as a bib. :scratchin Hmmm, no smilies with bibs.

They really are quite practical. I'm thinking of featuring them in my etsy shop. (D~'s gonna shoot herself for spending hours on UPBs when slapping a pocket on panties is where the buck bucks are!!!)
So it's you who is going to take us all on a free trip!!!!

Some day our financial stuff will settle down.If you rent a house at a huge loss you usually get a good return. Can I interest you in house to buy? You can then rent it at a loss and be ascertained you'll get a nice return every year.

Nope, not possible unless the bun is already in the oven!

Welllllllll... all but the last one was born at less than 7 months...so I guess it is technically possible! We have 7 months tomorrow! However, I'm afraid if that were the case they would not be going to Disney! Let's see...they would have a 13 yo, a 10 yo, a 5 yo, and a 1 yo... nope...I don't see it happening!

Now, there's a brilliant idea... You could just buy a whole pkg of fruit of the looms, and sew secret pockets into them... Just don't make them too big, or someone might mistake them for TP. :thumbsup2

Sorry for threadjacking Nini... I like all your plans so far - sounds like you all will be eating well. :lovestruc

D~

.... will commence as soon as possible! I really don't think you like me unless you threadjack at least once a week...so if everyone does that each week for the next seven months, I should have a pretty interesting PTR!

Today is the seven month mark...I am so seriously behind on my sewing. Just as I thought it was safe to get back in the studio again, I start feeling this bronchitis coming back. I'll be going back to the doctor tomorrow... I knew it was too good to be true. I've never been able to kick bronchitis with only one round of antibiotics!

I have discovered that I have some unexpected followers of my PTR... so I have to be careful of what I write from now on. (don't worry...it is not bad...just not great...)

Unfortunately, I can't remember whose turn it is to threadjack now...so I'll leave a sign up sheet in the foyer...please sign with the day you want to be in charge of and I will make a chart. It will be posted on the fridge next to the chores chart...of course, if you want to put your name on the chores chart...I won't mind! (we had to fire the maid... she was not doing a very good job and I had to keep redoing everything!):rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:
