2012? No Problem...but when?

You do it well, Cheryl! LOL

Really like the quilt. What color are you going to use for the backing? I like to use flannel, makes it nice and soft!

I've never made a disappearing 9 patch... but I have made a turning twenty...which looks very similar...

Nini

Thanks! I was going to use the polka dot material. I like polka dots. I could switch to flannel, although last year it drove me crazy stretching, to the point I was looking at new machines thinking that was the problem. (I knew I wasn't the problem! :lmao: )

I'll have to Google turning twenty.

NinI I am so sorry your machine is giving you problems.

Cheryl I enjoyed your hijack. The quilt is absolutely lovely

 Thanks.

For those of you who live in the metro Atlanta area and have been hearing that booming noise since January 1st (kinda like a dyeing penguin..per my 4 year old grand daughter ) never fear...it was just me. My wonderful fall allergies finally hit the house and went straight to bronchitis.

Went to the ER last night when it started becoming painful to breathe and the doctors confirmed what I already knew. Both lungs are inflamed so bad my air flow was seriously constricted. I did manage to get my pulses ox up to 86 before discharge after a breathing treatment.

I really did not think the treatment did much good until this morning at about 1:30 when the painful breathing came back...so maybe it did some good after all!

After the pharmacy opens in about a half hour, I get to go exchange all this paper for about 5 meds. Then, next week, I get to go to my regular doctor and start getting checked out for COPD. Seems, having bronchitis 4 times in three years puts me at a significant risk. Well, that and the number of times I have had pneumonia.

The worst part about this is ...well, my arthritis meds is causing most of my problems. Since I have been on these type of meds for almost 30 years, it might be time to have to go off them...which means my walking might have to be curtailed a bit...which could pose a problem at Disney. (see how I managed to tie Disney in??)

Of course, my oldest son said I would look cute carrying my old lady air bottle around on a scooter!

So, I'm off to take a nap...no I'm off to get my meds, then take a nap and then head to the attorney's office... awful busy day for someone who is supposed to have bedrest!

Nini

I know I posted on FB already... But please get better and try to get some rest. I know it is impossible sometimes, but try not to over do what needs to be done. (((Hugs)))

Your plight reminds me of the "joke" (doesn't seem like quite the right word) of a woman who had one problem after another and finally woke up one morning and prayed, "Please God, choose someone else today."

You've had more than your fair share lately.

I am so sorry you are sick Nini.

I am saying prayers that you get better quickly and your attorney visit goes well.

Thanks for all the well wishes. After meds and a nap I feel way better.

I made it to the attorney's office and back with only one minor casualty...I lost my phone. I really feel like I lost my best friend. Hubby is going to go by the attorney's office and see if I left it there.

From the attorney's office...at first he didn't seem concerned that this was instigated by the bio mom...and then I reminded him a few things about her. He is now only slightly concerned that it may have been instigated by her. We talked about how best to address the issues and what parts of the form to pay close attention to detail and what pats we could just use the old stand by "unknown".

He basically said that she is too smart to think that she can just come back into the lives of the babies she threw away almost 10 years ago without having to go to court. He assured me she would have the biggest fight of her life on her hands if she tried to fight us in court. Even if she had been living in a convent for the past 10 years (and her arrest record shows otherwise) she would have a hard time getting them.

I'm feeling a little better about it, but still a bit worried. I think she has an attorney again and this is her first strike. I may be right...or I could be wrong...only time will tell....

I am sick and tired of being Debbie Downer here!

I'm going to Disney in a little over 9 months! By Golly it is time for some good news and some fun!

Oh...Cheryl...I have heard that joke... it did cause me a bit of a giggle! Thanks!

Nini

Sorry you are not feeling well and had to go to the ER the other night.

I can not imagine the stress you have been under lately with the stress of having to worry about your little ones.

Please take care of yourself and keep a close eye on your health. All of this worry can not be good for you.

Thanks for all the well wishes and thoughts. The pain from the bronchitis is just about gone, and the cough is under semi-control. I'm guessing with 3 days of antibiotics and all the extra steroids must be working.

I've got 90% of the paperwork filled out for the child support people, and will fax it over to the attorney on Monday for a last look over.

Tomorrow morning we are taking a quick half day trip to Ikea. I had planned on getting some storage stuff while I was there, but I think my budget needs to hold off on that, but I do see some pictures being taken tomorrow.

I'm hoping to get back in the studio tomorrow and get some work done, but we will see how tomorrow morning goes with the shopping excursion first!

I am so excited to get back to making some stuff for Disney. I am so tired of not getting done!

Nini

Nini - I just wanted to stop by and let you know that you have been in my thoughts and prayers these last few days. I can't imagine what you are going through or how hard it must be to keep a "happy face" when there are so many other things going on. I hope you know that we are all here for you and will do whatever we can to support you. (((Hugs)))

I am happy to see you focusing on something that brings you great joy right now - I really think that is important. Even if it only gives you a few hours "away" - I think it is a very good thing.

I really wish I could do more than type out my support - because you are such a great mom to your kids - and I have seen your dedication. (((Hugs)))

D~

 Just popping in too! :wave2: Glad you are feeling a little better and that black dripping oil is gone.

Here's my quilt top. I tried to take the photo out of focus, but my camera wouldn't cooperate. It's a disappearing 9 patch (you probably could tell that) and a BIG step up for me from last year when I just did "I spy" quilts - same sized squares all different fabrics. The church group has an amazing hoard of fabric -- it makes it almost fun.

In Disney related news, Squeaky AKA Missy AKA Kitty is enjoying a "cat and mouse" nap.

Threadjacking is fun. :dance3:

 Love Squeakkky! <--- thought I would through in the extra Ks for emphasis:lmao:

And great job on the quilt.

I'm finally here!!!! I was told by a little bird that my name was mentioned over here. I actually started reading your ptr last week but that's when Dis was being most uncooperative for me in loading pages slower than Cheryl's escargot.

Nini, I am sorry for all you are going through with your children and the current worries over bio mom returning to the picture. Wise to get your attorney involved right away. I am praying this is nothing and that all remains as is.

I was so sad hearing your story of the accident. I always knew your ds had a tbi but I never knew the story behind it. It really is a tragic situation but your ds is in your loving hands and gets the best care :) You are the best Mom he has :)

Whining builds character. :lovestruc
D~
Oh, I will have to remember that quote. For some reason dh thinks dd and I whine too much. I can't ever imagine where dd learned to whine :rolleyes1

I finally got a finished t shirt for this trip, so I thought I would attempt to post it here.

6629991101_dfb0b9e6d4.jpg

I also finished (sort of) the mannequin form for the AG doll. It is not perfect by any means...but it is my first try at something like this and it is workable. I'm hoping to get some time to make a better one soon.

Nini
LOVE the shirt!!! I really like the color of the shirt and the design is awesome. I loved looking at the photos of all of your first creations too. Even though they are simpler than the magnificent creations you make now, they still were all fabulous. I think everything is great!

First up a couple of the onesies I made for Mr Trey...

Next, is a couple of the burp cloths I made. Hard to see but they are all lined with flannel.

And now a picture of his quilt....oops...I didn't seem to get a finished picture of the quilt, so how about a picture of the almost finished quilt with all the other 'stuff' on top...

Now, just for fun, I'll post one more picture of the latest Grace dress I completed...no particular reason to include this other than I love my new dress form and just like to show it off! LOL!

PS...I'll have to clean these pictures up a wee bit later. Gotta run to therapy in a bit!
Love everything -- love the colors in the baby gifts!

I saw what happened to your latest onesies though -- your repair shop just needs to give you a free new machine for all the trouble they have caused you!

:teacher: Thank you to Andrea for the tutorial on threadjacking.

While I'm waiting for some fabric to dry, let me see if I can get the hang of threadjacking. . .

I'm very impressed with your quilting skills! Squeakkky is adorable!

ME <------- who must go work on chocolate ice cream stains on dd's sleeve because she *forgot* she didn't have a napkin :confused3

 Love Squeakkky! <--- thought I would through in the extra Ks for emphasis:lmao:

True dat. (Hip hop? gansta? rap?) don't know, but I sure like to say, "True dat."

In the immmortal words of Arrristotle (or was it Shakkkespeare?), "While one consonant might get the job done, let 'em know you mean it and use three!!!"

:dance3: <------that's right, three!!!

Well, the HALF day trip to Ikea turned into a literal HALF day away from home! We left yesterday morning at 10:30 and returned home at 10:30 PM! I only spent a few dollars (so proud of myself, but I do have a return trip planned!) uyt mt daughter and her husband spent enough to make up for what I didn't spend. Then we all piled over to her house for Pizza (again) and Ikea fun as she put it. We spent the evening putting together 4 pieces of furniture that put together into an entertainment center.

I over did last night, so after church this morning I came home with the intention of sleeping...somehow everyone under the sun had other ideas, so my nap only lasted 30 minutes. But I feel so much better it is funny!

After I get a bit of a straightened house, I really want to go down and sew. Not sure if it will happen, but it is nice to dream!

I keep telling myself that stress proves I'm still alive and feeling things...not sure how that is working though...LOL.

Thanks D~ I really have got to stop being such a downer on here....This is supposed to be a DISNEY TRIP REPORT...not a soap opera! LOL

Of course, once the income tax refund gets here we start to kick it in high gear...hopefully only a matter of days!

 Just popping in too! :wave2: Glad you are feeling a little better and that black dripping oil is gone.

I'm almost afraid to go see how it is doing now...if I see another drip of oil I think Bubba might be spending a much longer vacation at the spa. Especially since I found a local person selling a 6 needle for only $3000!!! I can't believe it! Less than half price and barely used at all. I really am trying to be good and not steal any of the Disney money for it!

Andrea... Thanks for joining. Lately this has become more of a soap opera than a Disney trip report. I've got to get back to the Disney planning! It is so much more fun!

I promise that unless something terrible happens I will have no more pity parties for at least 24 hours.....maybe even longer!

I don't see them on Les Chefs de France menu anymore. I'd like to see Remy strut his stuff, but the $$$$ there keeps making me think twice. And once I thought three times!

Squeakkky is adorable!

As of Friday she's now joined Tigger and Tiny in kitty heaven. :sad1:

Oh Cheryl I am so so sorry about Squeaky.

Nini I :love::love::love: iKEA

I spent all day yesterday in NJ because C had a dance workshop

:cat: Thanks. She's been on borrowed time for quite a while. It felt good to finally "close the book". Now for the first time in 17 years we're cat-free.

My son has gotten furniture from IKEA. We don't have one up here.

Nini - sounds like a busy weekend, hope you got some rest.

Cheryl - sorry to hear about your cat. I know this is Nini's PTR but I thought I read that you were headed to the world but I think I missed some of the details. What are your plans?

I've become such a tightwad in my old age, that I'm going on a solo Cheapskates Ofthe World (COW) trip. Staying at All Star Sports (I HATE Sports, but it's the only value I haven't stayed at. I kinda wanted to stay at POR, but I kept telling myself that I could choose either one, but if I chose All Star it would be like checking in and finding $400 on my bed. Next year I'll have to stay at POR because there won't be any more values. ((I'm working my way through the resorts: I've been to Pop, ASMu, ASMo, CBR (many times), AKL and OKW.))

Gonna be there Feb. 27 through March 5. I really felt as though I had to go before D~ so I could track down all of the Donalds and prepare them for D~'s visit.

Have a few reservations for chow: Tony's at MK which I've never been to, LaHacienda (did someone say margaritas?) at Epcot, Boma for dinner, Sci-Fi for dinner, and my traditional Tonga Toast breakfast at the Poly on the last day. Also thinking about Beaches and Cream (never been there) for lunch some day and some other spot for dinner.

It seems like meal prices have been going up lately. I'm thrilled just to be at WDW, and as much as I enjoy the dining experience, I think I probably get as much enjoyment out of a Mickey head ice cream as I do a $$$$$$ dinner. I hate that you have to make reservations so far ahead. It would be much easier to go with the flow.

I did some sewing for my trip. Shhhhhh, don't tell anyone, but I put little pockets in my granny undies for ca$h. I used to put some bills in my shoe, but now that we have to take shoes off for TSA I decided to make little pockets in my undies. I also made a travel wallet. I travel very light. Just my wallet in my front pocket and a cinch sack that by the end of the evening if it's cold I can fold up and put in the pocket of my windbreaker. The wallet has slots for cards, a pocket for the room safe key, a "secret" pocket for larger bills, a small change purse, and a ring in case I ever want to put it on a lanyard.

Since it appears that I'm on the verge of threadjacking, I'll ask a question:

Has anyone ever done the mini golf? Every year I get the free coupon for golf and since it's just me I wouldn't have to buy any additional tickets. (Remember, I'm cheap.) I don't really like mini golf, but I DO like doing things I haven't done before, and I've never done the mini golf at WDW. (Let's review, I HATE sports.) It seems like a bit of a time consuming effort, but I'm curious if people ever play golf and if they like it. Anyone?
