2012? No Problem...but when?

Hmm that sounds like a great ap!
I am so happy for your grand princess. Continued prayers for her that it heals well and YAH that she can walk at all without the boot. That is huge progress!
I am sorry about your migraines :( hope they stay away you are a busy chicka they need to understand that :)

Thanks...she is still doing pretty good. she sees the surgeon once a week, and the home health nurse comes once a day to change the dressing. She is a bit miffed these days. Her aunt and two little cousins have moved in with them...again! Hopefully she can stay clean and sober long enough to get back on her feet. The Princess loves them, but atwe a few days she is ready for them to go. They play with her toys when she is not there...it drives her crazy!

Going to go look for the My Disney Experience app right now!

Yay for a good Dr. visit yesterday!!! :cool1:

And whoot on finishing a few shirts! Progress is good... Hope your head is feeling better! :lovestruc

D~

I have decided to treat myself as if I were a customer. Our shirts always end up on the back burner! I figure if I can get 2 done a day , Monday through Friday, I should be finished a moth or so before we go.

Doing home school for 4 hours in the morning (from 5am until 9 ish) and then trying to do home school again starting at 2 until her mommy comes to get her around 5 or 6...is really cutting into my creative time! LOL!

Yeah for the good doctors visit. I am going to look at those apps today.

I liked your travel page.

Thank you so much! I am doing a ton of quotes...but no bookings yet. (my secret fear is I will NEVER make any money at this!)

The only news on the rip planning front is that I broke down and purchased the Photo Pass +. We are going to coordinate the special plus card so that we get all the dining pictures as well as the ride pictures. A simple spreadsheet worked great... but I can definitely see how this would discourage group shares of unrelated people!

I had to do a lot of Disney math to see if it would really save me any money. While we rarely get the ride pictures in print, we always get the dinner pictures. That alone made it worth it to me...and then being able to 'gift' that option to my Grand Princess was a nice benefit as well.

My son in law and daughter are once again thinking of going with us on the trip...at least for part of it! Of course, they like to wait until about 2 weeks out to plan their trips.... so I seriously don't expect them to make a decision until sometime in November! LOL!

I do have a back up plan if the Disney Gift cards are no available at Sam's in time for my PIF date. My son in law has a Disney Visa card...I am going to give him the cash and he will pay off the trip ... getting to take advantage of the points. So at least it will not be totally wasted money!

Time for therapy!

Nini - everything sounds great... Yes you do need to treat yourself like a customer.

Dh is irritated that I still haven't made his request... I told him to get in line, my next available slot is in April and I'll be taking orders again on the 25th... He wasn't too happy. I told him that I would try and squeeze him in over my Christmas break. LOL

I tried to respond to you on FB about the Target check card discount... did you not get it?

No, D~ I didn't get it!

Hmmm.... I wonder where it went then?

If you have a Target Check card, you get 5% off of every purchase - including Disney GCs... They sell them only in $50 incriments... So, for each $100 you spend, you pay $95... However, that isn't as great of a deal as Sam's, but it's better than nothing too. :thumbsup2

The only caveat to that... If you've had your check card for less than 6 months, there is an automatic $100 spending limit... Which really sucks and it's something that they never told us about - until some poor person who got the check card JUST to purchase a TV, but couldn't, because their limit is $100 - even on a CHECK card that's hooked directly to their bank account. :confused3 Makes no sense to me. :crazy2:

However, I have had my check card for 5 years and I LOVE it - no spending limits for D~. :cool1:

Glad to hear that your grandprincess is feeling better and is able to walk on her foot. That really is a amazing. I think eve without Disney to motivate her she would be on her way, but that is a great reason to get movin'. Congrats on the new camera, or should I say cameras? What model did you end up getting?

I hope you can reschedule your Be Our Guest ADR. You amaze me with the amount of things you get done for a trip. I honestly didn't think you would be able to pull it off for your previous trip but then you got it all done, even with a major neck injury. :thumbsup2 So don't worry about the list because I know you will get it done.

The Disney Visa thing sounds like a good plan if they don't end up getting the Sam's gift cards in. Hopefully they will be in the stores soon.

Well, shoot...that wouldn't help on THIS trip...since we leave in something like 10 weeks... maybe for the next trip, which is more like 62 weeks.

Thanks... she is improving by leaps and bounds.

We watched the new show Katie yesterday. It had the spot on Amiee Copeland (the girl that lost her legs and hands to the flesh eating disease). I didn't realize just how much the 5 year old understood. She started crying about half way through it...and said...is that the same kind of infection I had? She got really worried that she was going to loose her foot.

We had to turn off the tv and have a long discussion about how her infection was a little different than the one that girl had, but while hers was very serious, she is going to be fine now. So, she asked me if Amiee was going to go to Disney too...

I ended up with an Olympus point and shoot... it is really kind of funny...it has lots of nice features that I will never use! As much as I drool over other people's photographs, I know I will never use more than a point and shoot. I don't have the time to fiddle with all the various options. I want to simply take the picture and be done with it!

I think the one we got Miss B is a Nikon point and shoot. I guess I should really look for the actual model numbers. She is probably going to want to upgrade to one that isn't a point and shoot...and if Mr D would take more care of things...him too.

Of course, HIS favorite thing to take pictures with currently is his DS...it has a lot of built in special effects that he is having a lot of fun with right now!

That was our short break from school...time to hit the books again! LOL!

Ten Weeks!

Things are starting to hop around here. We normally start out first count down calendar at the 60 day mark. I haven't even made it yet! I still have 46 shirts left to make. I have a ton of stuff to still purchase.

However, yesterday, our PhotoPass + CD came in. While I was totally excited...I was not impressed! First of all, that tiny piece of paper that I paid $180 for (including tax) is almost guaranteed to get lost before we go! While there is a number on it, there is no distinguishing number to keep track of in case it gets lost, and every word on it says that if it gets lost you are out of luck! Not happy about that. Not at all.

Second, the CD with all the 'bonus' pictures...well they are cute...sort of, but seriously...what an I going to do with a million pictures of the animals that I never see on the safari? While these pictures are supposedly only available to those of us who pay the extra money...I could find almost every one of them by just doing a google search... If I were making a nice photo book of each day like D~ does, then I might be able to use them...but seriously?

Even the Grand Princess was less than impressed. And she likes to commandeer my computer to look at Disney pictures all the time!

I can't wait to get to actually use the plus part of the package. Since I always buy the pictures at dinner it will save me a little money. Only a little. I never buy the ride photos, but we always get them included on our disk...but I guess we might get them this time.

I re-worked our budget and we are still on track. A little bit tighter than I had hoped, but nothing too serious. The odd thing is, I always pay off our trip way ahead of my DIL...and she has already paid hers off! Of course, she got a bonus on Monday...something her office rarely EVER does...give out an un announced, unexpected bonus...so she figured she should put it on the Disney trip quick, before something happened that needed her money!

Good news on the Princess front...her appointment at the surgeon's office went great yesterday! She should be finished with the home nurse in another 10 days... and she will start Physical therapy as soon as we can get her worked in at Mr D's therapist!

This will be the first time in her life (yes I said LIFE!) that she will be able to move her foot up and down! Her ankle is working just like it is supposed to. It has always been stationary...she could move it left and right, but not up and down. She has never walked on her foot flat...she has always done a sort of tippy toe walk. Now she will have to learn how to walk regularly....

We are beyond excited about this news!

I think you need a new ticker?

That sucks that the bonus pictures are crappy... We got a ton of bonus pictures with our CD in March - it wasn't a seperate CD - it was just on the Photopass CD we got... Lots of characters, just inserted with in our pictures. Good idea for me to use them with my Mini-Planner. :thumbsup2

I hope that the rest of the bonus that you actually get to use will be worth it.

I am not sure that I am going to do the + version this time... I think it would be great to get our ride/dining photos though - so I am not sure?

That is awesome that DIL was able to get a bonus to pay off her trip already. I hate working out budgets all the time to see if I am on track. :confused3

This is awesome news Nini!!!! I am so relieved for all of you and I am so elated for your Grand Princess... I think this deserves something extra magical for this trip! :goodvibes

Thanks D~... I really tried to change the ticker...but I keep getting error messages...so I just deleted it! Much easier...LOL!

Nini

Awesome news about the grand princess.

I am curious about the photo pass plus. We never do ride photos.

Can't believe it is 10 weeks already.

I have decided a better ticker for me would be how many shirts until we go as opposed to how many days until we go! I have not done any shirts since Wednesday! I am so seriously behind it is not even funny...

Now, my daughter ans her husband are thinking of going with us again...since they are thinking about it so soon, I seriously doubt they will actually go through with it. They NEVER stick with a plan they make more than 30 days out! LOL!

Right now, the thing stopping them is the price of the tickets. They are kicking them selves for not getting the annual passes in June. At that time they had already planned on going back in November, it would have prevented the issue of how much the tickets cost...of course, if I use his Disney VIsa card to pay for our trip, then he would have enough money on his card to pay for all their meals...

I sometimes wonder how I could have produced a child who plans so little for her vacation!

Nini

That would probably be a bad idea - you would be changing the count constantly since you whip out t-shirts like a machine :)

Since this is my ptr and because I can write about what ever I want to..

I am pleased to announce...

The Grand Princess is having a bubble bath tonight!

And why is that important you might ask? She has not been able to have a bath since the middle of February. She just got tentative all clear from her surgeon. No more infection, no more boot, no more bandages, no more wound... She is back to being a normal healthy 5 year old!!!

She starts therapy next week at twice a week...I can not begin to tell you how happy I am! Of course, now we have to start working on that do over beach trip!

Nini

Nini I am so very happy for your Grand Princess. I am so happy that she is finally healing and getting back to normal.

I am so super happy for your grandprincess and the rest of your family!!! Yay!!!!

D~

The Grand Princess has her first physical therapy this morning. It is such a milestone for her!

Mr D has learned to tell time, and as his reward he is sporting a new watch. Today is his 11th birthday, and I am amazed at how far he has progressed in the last few years. We were originally told he would never reach farther than a 3 year old emotionally and mentally. I am so proud of how far he has come in the last year since we have been home schooling again. AMAZING!

Miss B played in her first High School Football game as a member of the band. She was not impressed, and came home very, very, very hungry. (big mix up on the eating plan that was put in place. Even though I paid for her to eat, the chaperones decided that only the 6th graders could eat..) We have a saying in our house (after 4 kids in high school band) that it is not really band season until someone comes home mad!

Over the weekend, my husband had to take a couple of trips to the ER. He has shingles. For the time being he is out of work for at least 7 days. Depending on his progress, it could be longer. Luckily he has never taken a sick day in his life... so he has plenty!

I found out I have gall stones and need to have surgery...and we leave for Disney in 58 days. I STILL have 46 shirts left to finish.

Other than that...nothing much is going on around here! LOL!

Happy birthday to Mr. D!! That is great that he learned to tell time, that is a hard concept.

I am happy to hear about your grandprincess, after her last set back I was worried it would be a long time before she got that boot off.

I hope your DH is feeling better soon and poor you, gallstones do not sound like fun. YUK!

Oh no Hun! I am so sorry you have gall stones. Praying for a quick recovery.
So awesome about mr d happy birthday to him!
Ya for pt for your grand princess too!
I hope you got the food thing straightened out for next time!
Ps if you need shirt help message me

As you see, I did not quote anyone...and it is not because I am ignoring your comments...I am choosing to ignore the medical situation right now! LOL! (sticking my head in the sand...sort of)

Found out yesterday, that the middle school band is considering a Disney trip next year in November. Since we are already planning on going at that time...(or close to it) I think it will work out pretty good.

I am hoping to find out when their dates are an then schedule ours. Same time would be great...in that I wouldn't be taking Miss B out of school as much...but bad in that I might get roped into being a chaperone...

We are also thinking of a quick weekend trip in August for the Princess' birthday. She missed out on so much for her birthday this year... that it would be nice to have her have something special for this next year...

I also need to get working on making plans for the grand beach trip that hubby wants to do. I love the idea of it being 2 weeks, and love the fact that we will go places we have never been (and a couple of places I haven't been to since a kid) but not looking forward to all the driving!

Going from Atlanta, down the Atlantic coast of Florida, staying a few days in Key West, then heading up the Gulf Coast...and looking for beach property to purchase for a vacation house...I can hardly wait. I will be holding out for beach property close to Orlando...

Mr D and daddy are about to leave to go fishing...something he has wanted to do all summer and things keep getting in the way. He is so happy...he breezed through school in no time at all... I have to say...it is so cool seeing him as happy as he has been these last few weeks!
