Has anyone heard anything about reservations for the 2012 Members Cruise?

How far in advance did they announce the booking dates last year. I am really interested in going next Oct. I know I will having difficulty booking since it sold out in 2 hours last year--but one can try. So do I need to have my phone turned on in dial mode using an atomic clock for 9 a.m. sharp. Or do you just call and stay on eternal hold until someone answers?

What would my strategy be--or is there one?

I have yet to try one. Every year there is some reason next year, I really want to go to WDW for Christmas.

Next years Member Cruise is set for Sunday, October 21-25. No date has been announced yet for booking. My husband, daughter, and I have gone on the last 2 member cruises and we really enjoy them.
I am always ready with my phone set to redail the DVC number when the lines first open on the booking date. If you get a busy signal, hang up and keep redailing until you get the usual DVC member recordings. You will either get a real person who answers or you will be put on hold. DON'T hang up; just hold until someone answers. They take calls in order. Sometimes you may have to hold for 30 minutes to an hour or two. but it's worth it if you really want to go. Keep your charger plugged in if your using a cell phone. If the stateroom category you want fills up, you can go to another category that is still open or get put on a waitlist. Many people get reservations by being put on a waitlist and getting a call a couple months later. Good luck!!
Just a note: The DVC booking office is set to open on EST and I live in CA which is PST so I have to get up very early, either 5 or 6 am to hope and get a reservation.

I have been on several of the DVC Members only cruises and love them each and every time. I have not heard anything about how reservations will be made this time nor do I know the magical day this will all come down.

First I am very interested in seeing the point charts for the various room categories to see if we will be going in 2012 or not. Hopefully all of this information will be coming out soon.

For whatever it is worth, it is possible 2012 Members Cruise may have a different booking process. I along with many others received a survey request on a 'possible' new way to book. The new method suggested is submitting a form from the DVC Members website. Then whatever day the bookings begin the forms will be submitted and time stamped automatically. It stated the member would then be called a few days later if they are matched with one of their 3 room choices.

I hope they stay with the phone method but guess we will have to wait and see....impatiently I might add!!! LOL...
