2012 Marathon, Half Marathon and Relay opens 3/15 @ noon EDT

Bummer - I never did get an email from runDisney with the $20 discount. I got the original email after the January half that talked about it, but haven't gotten an email since.

Is the "princess" code a general code? Or do I need to just dress my family up in character costumes, strategically place them, and run around the neighborhood for 26.2?

Oh the trademark/copyright violation....

The code you saw on the princess thread is a general code that works for all.

Does anyone know for sure if you can run the full and be part of a relay team (providing you pay for both)? I'm going to assume you can but you know what they say about people who assume...

I'm going to post this on the runDisney site as well but not sure I'll get a timely response.

I think the point of the relay is to give people who don't feel they can run a full marathon the opportunity to run part of it. I don't see how you could run the full completely by yourself AND be part of a relay team.

Oh, I understand what you're saying. However, I've been at many races where this is done. Is it right? That might make a good debate question.

I signed up for the Donald and the relay. A friend of mine wants to do the Donald and the relay as well. However, she wants her boyfriend to be her relay partner but he wants to do the Goofy.

What might work there, if you hadn't already signed up is the gf could do the half and the relay but have someone else as her partner. She could take the leg that mirrors the full marathon and if timed right should could run that part along with her boyfriend (he would be signed up or the half and the full to get his goofy). She may not have him as a partner but she'd at least get to run with him in a sense.

Given that they've made it clear that the relay is "extremely limited" in capacity, I don't think it'll fly.

I'd suggest what Saylan did. Let the friend find another relay partner, and then she can run her leg with her BF - either finishing with him or starting the relay, and then cheering him at the end. It's not fair to take a slot from someone who is legitimately wanting to run the relay because they can't run a full just because you want two medals from essentially the same race, which is what it ultimately boils down to.

She will probably have to get another partner, no doubt. I can certainly understand if Disney doesn't allow it; it's been done at other races, the Wine & Dine for one (or so I've been told), so I just thought I would check.

Given that the relay is very limted, I can understand not allowing it. However, as I said before, in many other races that I've participated in that have a relay option, it is allowed and encouraged in some.

Wow, I didn't know they let that be done for the Wine and Dine. I'm bummed.

Susan, I've been told that by someone who knew someone who did it but now I'm beginning to have my doubts. Oh, well! I'm signed up for Donald and the relay. I'll just encourage my friend to find another partner.

Pretty certain that you are hearing the results of someone who said something but really didn't know what the first person really said. OK, that doesn't make sense. :rolleyes1 I am kind of thinking that what you heard was not 100% correct, or if it were that it was an anomaly .

Yea, Coach Charles, I think you're right. And, it made sense to me. ;)

OK, I finally read the fine print. No, it is not allowed. Case closed. :teeth:
