I got another e-mail today from Disney Destinations but it was the same free dining offer that ends September 29th....

Of course my date is October 5th or 6th. Does anyone know why that date would fall into a blackout period?

I wish the black out ended on nov 7 instead. I have lots of family checking in on the 8th but only 3 nights after a cruise. Maybe we'll get lucky with the public offer......and soon.

I got the same e-mail, but there wasn't a PIN showing after the "PIN:" line. Did you get the same with no actual PIN?

Yup. . .I called the number and got confirmation that I was entitled to the offer. . .they didn't say why they PIN came through blank, however.

I don't think it will because Pop Warner is there that week.

No guarentees, but make a Disney account and order a CD. One gal I know just ordered a CD to her new address a month ago and got a PIn under that address yesterday.

General public release at a guess, possibly July or August.

The PIN dates are very narrow with lots of blackouts. When Iger said they were going to cut back on discounts it appears he meant it.

FYI everyone. There is another PIN code out similar to the one described in this thread. I received a PIN via email (sent to me May 11th)
The dates in my offer include Free Dining for any dates now through Dec 20th (only blackout listed is Nov 17-23). I spoke to a CM about it yesterday to confirm.
So, don't lose hope- you could get this offer also!
This is really the first year I've received PINs (and we've been going to WDW for years). Last year was the first time we had stayed on property in a while. And I also visit the vacation planning site often; order DVDs every year; order the custom maps; etc.
I did recently go on the website and search for/save potential vacation accomodations and tickets for the week of Thanksgiving (which is the same timeframe we went last year). So, I kinda wonder if that is what triggered the PINs to start. (the other pin I received a few months ago was for like 15% off a value resort).
HTH someone else! I had "PIN envy" for sooo long and just couldn't figure out why I never received one. So maybe my suggestions could help someone else get that elusive PIN!

If someone's vacation falls in between those dates they apply it to the entire reservation correct? Say vacation dates are 10/17 - 10/23.

p.s. should specify that this is concerning the pin that people are starting to get for free dining in the fall.

The only date that matters for a free dining promotion is your check-in date. If your check-in date is not a covered date then no part of your vacation will get free dining. You can do a split stay if your dates are close enough to a covered date.

If your vacation starts on 10/17, but free dining isn't available until 10/19, you will have to do a room only reservation for the 17th and 18th, and then start your free dining package on 10/19. You can get the total # of days on your tickets to cover your entire trip, but you will need to do what is called "early ticket pickup" at any park's guest relations office. You can pick up package tickets up to 3 days early. This will require you to check out and check back in on the 19th, and you may or may not have to change rooms. You will only get your tickets early and not your dining credits. Your tickets will also be separate from your KTTW card.
