2012 Free Dining Dates...?

Just saw a posting by a travel agent on Facebook that said:

Rumor is now saying the Disney World Free Dining that is opening tomorrow will be extended into 2012 as well:

Jan 8, 2012 - Jan 14, 2012
Jan 22, 2012 - Feb 4, 2012
Feb 12, 2012 - Feb 18, 2012
......March 4, 2012 - March 10, 2012
March 25, 2012 - March 31, 2012
August 19, 2012 - September 29, 2012

I was hoping that May would be included in those dates as well. Guess I'll know for sure tomorrow.

This would be nice! I'm a bit surprised because WDW was giving the impression that discounts would be cut back, but being able to book that far in advance for FD is good. I wonder if a stay at mods would get the cs or ts plan?

I believe Mods would still be a regular DDP, Values would still be a QSDDP. You would have to lay the $11 per person per night of stay difference to upgrade to the regular DDP if you stayed at the Values.

We have taken our DD16 out of school each time we have went and our DS8 as well the past two trips. They have been just fine each time. They even missed 6 days this last trip. But the neat thing is that most of DD16s teachers give her assignments to her during the week before so she has most it all caught up before we leave. What little bit she has left over she does while we are flying down, in the car on the way to and from the beach on our Clearwater Beach Day , and then on the plane ride back home. DS8 gets all of his done before we even leave (Kindergarten and 2nd grade work for him)

We also do a Clearwater Beach day every trip!!!

We also do a Clearwater Beach day every trip!!!

It's awesome isn't it? We go to WDW for 10 days and on our 5th day each trip we stay out of the parks and just spend the day at the beach. That way we don't get Disney overload. Last year on our "beach day" there was a hurricane way off the shore but it was still very sunny and hot. And the hurricane was making 5 or 6 foot tall waves come in. But there in Clearwater the waves don't splash the beach due to the shelf that goes out about 20 or 30 feet into the water. Me and DS8 went out to the edge of the shelf and would let the waves slam into us and knock us down. I know. it sounds silly but we had a blast!

We are thinking about taking a trip to wdw next year. It would be 6 of us going. I was trying to figure out what would be cheaper. To rent 1 condo on site or to get 2 rooms. I know they are building a new accomidations. The are of animation hotel. It sounds nice but has anyone heard anything more than what disney is saying on it's web site? If we got to go I would like to try to do this as cheap as possible. Any ideas? Thank you.

We're trying the QSDDP for the first time next week. Even though we're staying at a mod on this trip, the FD pin was for QS and we decided to not upgrade to table service. We'll pay OOP for a few special meals and will do cs for the rest.

In 2012, we're aiming for a value resort and again will probably not upgrade to TS. I'm looking forward to seeing if all of the dates listed in the FD prediction will be the ones offered. I hope so!

ddp = Regular Disney Dining Plan
qsddp = Quick Service Disney Dining Plan
FD = Free Dining

I couldn't imagine doing the DDP without the TS options. We have been getting to love some of the TS places and couldn't see a trip without them. And the DDP even without a discount saves us money. Nearly $300 savings with the DDP. Places like Coral Reef would cost us way too much to pay OOP. I think we had a bill there (covered by the DDP of course) for nearly $150. Yikes. I entertained the notion of the QSDDP to DW and I almost had to sleep on the couch.

They're already taking bookings for it so it ought to be any time now. We are going to go with a connecting room deal. I will have two reservations. A package deal tied to one room and a room only deal on the other. Hopefully I can get a FD for the package deal and a 20% off rate for the room only deal. It would be just $600 extra for the connecting rooms as opposed to the $1300 extra for the suite (over a single room).

anyone think early june is free for free dining? we're going for our honeymoon in June. we made reservations already but they said we can always apply discounts when they come up and i can't remember if they did or not last year.
