2012 Epcot Food and Wine Festival *HAS ENDED*

I don't know how you did that, I wrote the first post and I don't even know.

The people listed in the first post are PAST winners (or runner ups) who will be appearing at the festival.

yep Im an idiot lol. I saw a man and a woman and for some reason thought it was this years season. I just figured it aired earlier in the States so you all knew already oops. Thanks for all the work you put into the thread. The plan for us is to just stick to the booths and things that are included in the epcot admission, for this year anyway. I have major issues I can't seem to stop looking at food pictures.

It airs on Monday...I'll miss it, they don't show it on the cruise ships. It's not a Disney channel.

"Pixar fans, meet John and Nancy Lasseter at a new Signature Dining event just added to the roster at the Food and Wine Festival! Citricos lunch on October 19th...$130/person. Call 407-WDW-DINE to book."

"Citricos: October 19 $130 (Pixar fans! John Lasseter and his wife Nancy will present their California wines at this 12:30 lunch. Chef Philip Ponticelli will pair Lasseter wines with seasonal cuisine.)"

Did anyone attend or hear anything about the Magic of Healthy Living dinner last year?

I know...who wants to think about healthy living/eating while on vacation?? :rotfl:

I am not especially (at all ;)) interested in healthy eating and am even less interested in a special event without wine :upsidedow but do really like the chefs (the Voltaggio brothers from Top Chef a few seasons ago and Andrew Zimmern) and would be curious to hear thoughts on last year's event.

Thanks! :)

We've already got tickets reserved for the Lasseter Family Winery demo on 10/16. Nancy Lasseter is presenting at the Demo. I wonder if John will make an appearance at the demos? He may just come in later in the week for the dinner, but I wouldn't mind seeing John in person at the demo!

I know! We get there on the 27th. I wish we could go too.

So do they not release the F&W maps online? Do we need to wait til it starts to see a map? We will visit F&W on 2 days & I would like to figure out which kiosk is where so I have some kind of plan. We will have our kids w/us & want to keep them interested too.

We only have one day in Epcot and want to enjoy as much of the festival as possible.

Any suggestions on which direction to tour booths? Is there an advantage to starting in Mexico versus Canada?

How do all of you fit in your WS regular offerings with the marketplace offerings? I need to have my favorites as well as many of the special items - not sure if I can manage all in one day!

Info indicates that the Festival Center opens at 9:00am. Should we try to visit there as well as take in the FW attractions before the WS opens at 11:00?

One must do occurs at 12:00, the tequila bar in Mexico opens - avocado margarita! I am thinking that getting this to go is the best option and then head out to enjoy the offerings.

How do you plan your EP/F&WF day?

Stop by the Festival Center and grab a free passport that has all the dishes listed and you can get it stamped (fun free souvenir!). I go with friends and we get one of what looks good and then we split it (by 3 or 4 this year!) so we can have a little taste and not get totally full! I've never noticed a difference on what direction you go....just head over at 11 because I've found it to be more crowded the later you go.

There's a picture of the map on the disney food blog: http://www.disneyfoodblog.com/2012-epcot-food-and-wine-festival-marketplace-booths-and-menus/
there's also pictures for food that is being brought back from last year & food items that were at the previews.

i really wish the passholder section on disney's website gave more info about special events. i look at it frequently and never saw anything about them letting ap holders book on aug 10th (sigh)...but such is life. still looking forward to hitting f&w for 4 days oct 25-28.

Didn't Disney release their "official" map online a lot earlier last year? I've been searching all afternoon, and this one is the only one I can find, and it's less than perfect- still blurry and everything...

I've looked at all the official Disney pages (website, facebook, the Disney blog) and can't find it....

:goodvibes

when do they typically release this year's prices for the food/drinks at all of the booths? i already made my plan of attack, but i had to base it off of last year's prices. thanks!

You usually don't find out until people start posting pictures of menus that are posted at the Kiosk. So usually the day before the festival starts, more might trickle in early, depends on when they physically put them up at the kiosks.

The only place I've seen the map is via the QR code for mobile scanning/viewing.

2012 Epcot International Food and Wine Festival QR Code. It is not an app just a link to a web page.
