2012 Epcot Food and Wine Festival *HAS ENDED*

Hi Karen, I know you'll have a GREAT time at F&W!

Lesson learned. I probably will not bring a purse to future events and will just stuff any extras I want to bring inside my poor husband's pockets!

Thank you Louisiana! Lesson learned for all of us. I am so glad you found your purse but sorry about the earrings. What a crazy situation! Maybe I'll find a cute cross body purse to hold a few things and keep my hands free.

I really like the sound of the extra service (and maybe extra goodies!) Just hope I can pace myself to enjoy it all!

All of my reservations are now showing online, and "Sweet Seats" (3D) and "reserved seating" (PFTS) are *not* specified.

Yeah, I was able to bring up my PFTS today too....I would have never known they placed me in the wrong category FOR 3DDD if I hadn't called back to double-check yesterday. I'd encourage everyone to check their statements to make sure they were charged for the right categories!! I would have been super PO'd if we'd got at the party and found out we weren't in the seating category I had asked for when I made the reservations...as it is, Im still :furious:

Wow! I can't even believe how many pages this thread went through in the last day or so!

I didn't even bother to call in because we only have one real event that we're thinking of booking and that's PFTS. We are doing the regular admission if we even go. It's looking like we have to cancel a third WDW trip and our second F&W.

The drop dead date to cancel is September 9 so we'll just have to see how the next couple weeks go.

How can you tell if the sweet seats are confirmed? Our reservation does show a time of 7:45 so I am hoping that means we have the sweet seats. It doesn't specify what category the seats are but I know what I paid for!

sorry to the person who lost their earrings-I know now not to do that, but I'm stilling bringing my lg purse-with my necessities that DH won't carry. Tip $20.00 at the start and hope for the best. But TY for the warning

Anybody can do whatever they prefer, but it's generally not adviseable to leave a purse contaning valuable items anywhere unattended.

If you have things in the purse that won't make a huge impact if they are lost, then it's up to you, but no matter how much the server is tipped (they have other tables and cant' be watching yours all the time) I wouldn't want to leave anything either monetarily or sentimentally valuable unattended. Really, all I bring is my KTTW card and park pass, I don't carry a brush or makeup or perfume or anything else, so no bag needed, but a small cross-body bag may be a good alternative for anyone who must bring extra items.

i'm going to guess that your reservation time of 7:45 implies you have sweet seats. my reservation says 8, and i bought general admission.

My PFTS reservation showed up yesterday with a time of 7:15, which indicates reserved seating, so check the time on the reservation

We must be going at the same time, we are going to the same PFTS. Where did you check and find the details of your reservation?

goodferry- go onto official Disney website and log into your account. You should be able to pull up any dining or special event reservations. My mixology seminar and tequila luncheon showed up later in the day on the 14th, and my PFTS showed up later in the day yesterday.

So this is a shot in the dark, but before I give Disney a call, I wanted to see what your thoughts were...

We're currently building a house and originally it looked like we were supposed to close in mid-September. Now it's looking like mid-October and we need to be out of our apartment by 10/31...so that only leaves us one or two weekends to move. Of course we found out today. And not 2 days ago before I booked PFTS & a Tequila Lunch for 10/27 & 28.

Has anyone had any luck in canceling these events? Or is there an option for us to change the names and for friends to be able to use the tickets instead?

Techincally everything is non refundable. I would call, but don't be surprised if they say "no refund, no changes" sorry!

There is someone on the DVC boards who managed to find a CM who upgraded thier regular 3D Desert Party tickets to the Sweet Seats so who knows? Sometimes it's the luck of the draw

I'm not positive, but I think as long as it says 7:45, you're ok (Mine says 8:00). I had just called, because I had booked everything while pulled over to the side of the road in my car...when I got to work, I looked to see if the reservations were added to the rest of my ADRs, and it showed up, but didn't say "Sweet Seats" (which I guess it doesn't show, even if they are) I called back just to double-check, and that's when I found out they booked the wrong category.

Thanks. I'm fully expecting the "sorry! No refund! No changes!"

Oh well...

Events are not cancellable or transferable. All you can do is call and ask if you can get refunded. Sometimes it might work but you probably shouldn't expect it. You might be able to send someone else but they will have to check in as you, and if they ask for ID (I don't recall them asking for ID for the events, but apparently they do for the Festival Center seminars) even that won't work.

You will not be refunded, about 10yrs ago they used 2-but not anymore. Believe me there r people who will probably want ur tickets-post on Craiglist. For alot of the less expensive demos they 4 some reason want to see a license or ID. I have never been asked for any ID at PFTS. Its probably the best chance u have ofmaking some of ur money back

I have to say...and yeah, I'm a total Disney lover....but I think the no cancellation policy for these events is totally bogus!! Everybody knows LIFE HAPPENS....people get sick, transportation breaks down, people get unexpected commitments. At a minimum, they should at least offer some type of cancellation insurance, because some of those events are EXPENSIVE. Could you imagine shelling out $270 each for the Wine View Lounge, and then someone gets ill and you can't make it? There's $540 down the drain for two people!

Others, may not know they are going until the last minute, and they may be "sold out". If those who need to cancel, could, then those who had to wait till the last minute for some reason or another, would be able to go. Too bad they can't have a Cancellation/Wait List....when a cancellation matches to an event someone else is wait-listed for, they could swap out the reservation with no monetary loss. If someone doesn't match, then the person on the cancellation list doesn't get reimbursed.
