2012 Beach and Yacht FAQ ~ March, April and May ~Do Not Post Here-Old Thread

Hi all!

We just booked our first BC stay! I received a 30% PIN code (for the first time ever) and we decided to give it a try. This thread has been a great resource. Every time I think of a question, this is the first place I go.

Anyway, here's an obscure question... I am a daily iced-tea drinker. Cannot live without it. I prefer fresh brewed over Gold Peak... is there anywhere at BC where I can get fresh brewed to go? Does Beaches and Cream have it? And can I get it in the morning?

Thanks all,
Kathy

Hope you enjoy your first stay at the BC. We first stayed in 2008 and have been back every year since.

As far as the iced tea, it is a yes or no answer depending on where you are staying.

If you are staying club level, then yes! There is fresh brewed iced tea. Drink to your hearts content. This is based on a 2010 stay so maybe someone can chime in if that is no longer the case, but I would think it would still be.

If you are not staying club level and are using the BC Marketplace, they only have the Gold Peak. They used to have fresh brewed but that disappeared a couple of years back.

There is no iced tea at Hurricane Hannah's ... although there might be some bottled tea for sale which doesn't work if you are talking about a refillable mug.

I cannot say if Beaches & Cream has fresh brewed iced tea to go. It has been a couple of years since we ate there and I can't recall if they had it or not.

The resort & park restaurants do serve fresh brewed though so this is where my DH gets his fix. He's not a fan of the Gold Peak either. Although when he does drink it, he does it more like a Arnold Palmer with some lemonade added from the fountain dispenser.

Thank you for reminding me! I had a waitlist request for a 2BR lock-off, but I forgot I can add another request for a different type of 2BR. Anyone have any idea how popular each category is? Ideally, a 2BR would work best for us since I get up early in the morning to run, but I am curious.....Thanks!

My theory was: in order for a lock-off to become available, both the studio and the one-bedroom had to be available. In order for one of the dedicated units to become available, only that one unit had to be available. So I waitlisted for the two dedicated types.

Other people might tell you that my theory is faulty, because there are fewer of the dedicated with 2 queens in the second bedroom.

I know this has been asked many times before but in your opinion how comfortable are the mattress in the pull out beds in the beach club villas? I have stayed in the villas before but had the mattress I think its my turn for the pull out this trip Im a little scared. I dont remember my aunts/cousins complaining about it being uncomfortable last trip so I am hopeful I will be ok with it

Hope everyone has a happy easter

We have stayed in the villas twice before. While I have not personally slept on the pullout beds, my adult children have. My youngest daughter slept on it on our first visit and my daughter and her husband slept on it on our second visit. None of them minded at all!

We are going again in Sept with my daughter and her husband and we offered to get either 2 rooms in the BC or a two-bedroom in the villas. They said to save money, just get the one bedroom villa because the pull out is comfortable and they don't mind sleeping on it.

Hi everyone.. could you please tell me if the Yacht Club is featured at all on the new planning dvd? We spilled the beans to my son today and we're all super excited so I thought I'd show him the planning dvd. I created my own personal one online but couldn't find the Yacht or Beach Club for that matter :( Thanks in advance

Yep. The one I got about a month ago does. Just pulled it out to check. It does the Yacht and Beach club together but about 1-2 minute overview. Some great shots.

Also hit Youtube. Some good stuff on there.

Not your typical pullout. I have done the pullout and BCV and VWL and both slept good. :cloud9:

Happy Easter and a Joyous Passover to all my BC/YC friends.

We had everyone over today and really had a special reason to celebrate.
Last Easter my Mom was in the hospital and the doctors were telling us the time was getting close and that we wouldn't have her this Easter.

Well not only was she at our house today to celebrate Easter, she had a really good day and was able to enjoy her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. We are so thankful!

Those are the best kind of Holidays Robyn!! So happy your family had such a great day with their Mom, Grandmom and Great Grandmom!!

I just slept on the pullout in a studio at BCV last month. It wasn't awful, but it wasn't great. I was only on it for 2 nights but I couldn't have done much more! The chair beds at Kidani/BLT were actually more comfy (but much smaller) than any pull out sofa I've slept on in WDW.

I have seen a few reports over the years that they do have mattress toppers available from housekeeping, but I don't know if they have them at BCV. It wouldn't hurt to ask if you try the pullout & it's uncomfortable for you.

Hello Everybody! Our first trip to the BC is coming up at the end of the month. I've been enjoying reading through this thread and studying all the photographs.

We have two daughters (6 and 3). We are travelling with my parents and my in-laws in 3 rooms. I'm a little stressed because we upgraded my in-laws to the BC from their beloved POFQ. MIL is thrilled to be near her granddaughters and to try a new resort. FIL is being quiet and I know he is worried that he won't enjoy himself (he is a creature of habit, picky eater etc.). I'm sure he will love the EPCOT area once he sees it, but I will feel very guilt if he doesn't! I don't know what I will do if the pool construction doesn't finish on time! Thank goodness my parents will be happy wherever we are.

I'm really looking forward to staying at the BC.

Personally, I don't think they will be disappointed! It is such a beautiful resort. And they will certainly notice the increase in the size of the rooms and many other things that I personally thing set the deluxes apart from the mods. :goodvibes

Robyn that is a wonderful holiday for you and your family. I am so glad you got to all be together for such a great day.

Are there life jackets to use at beach club?

Also is anyone static may 27 and on that would like our noodles? We will be buying two and obviously can't bring them home.

Your last line says it all AMB. I've seen it posted over and over on the boards of 'The Planner' worrying about everyone enjoying themselves on xxxxx trip. With your whole family there enjoying your two daughters at WDW it will be great.

Will everyone completely enjoy themselves :confused3. That's up to the individual. But I can tell by the positive tone of your note you will. Enjoy!

Happy Easter BC/YC thread!!!

It's been forever since I posted here. Since the Oct. 2011 trip time has been a world-wind and I could never get back here to "catch up" with the thread, but got a Kindle last week and I've been spending the time reading the BC thread before bed. :rotfl: So I'm now all caught up.

DH LOVED WDW so much that we had originally planned not going back until 2013, but having two trips (Feb. 2013 at WL and Dec. 2013 at BC again). Then he said he couldn't wait to go back so we booked a trip with FD in Sept 2012 at POR, but he said we Must stop by BC to:

1) walk through the front doors to "smell" the BC smell
2) Eat at Beaches & Cream

So even though we won't return to BC for another 600 + days, I LOVE this thread and am so happy to be back to it.
