2012 Beach and Yacht FAQ ~ March, April and May ~Do Not Post Here-Old Thread

DS4 wore a vest that clipped onto his swim trunks on our 1st visit when he was 2, then last year he had a vest that had little short sleeves on it, with a strap that went between his legs, and he was fine with both of those. Last year I could not keep him off of the big slide! I remember seeing kids in the all in one suits too.

Cindy

I didn't see any official minimum age, although I'm sure there is one. Ours went alone at 11 & 14 (together). The 14-year old went alone by himself a few times too.

Thanks!!!

We just returned & yes they are doing something at YC. Out the back of the lobby, to the right, away from BC. Not sure what, I can't imagine they're still doing siding work from last year, but that's exactly what it looked like they were doing!

Thanks for the info. From your description, it sounds like they were working on the lagoon side of the building. We're booked in a GV CL room so, hopefully, they won't be right outside our room.

I'm getting closer!

Just got an email from DVC Member Services that one of my waitlist requests came through! My ultimate destination would home sweet home, the BCV. However, the best I could do was a 2 BR at the VWL. Great place, but we've stayed there before and with my in-laws coming along this time, I wanted to be as close to EPCOT as we can be since it's their favorite park.

We now have a 2 BR at the BWV, but I'm keeping my fingers crossed for the BCV! Wish me luck!

You probably know this, but in case you don't -- since BCV has 3 different types of 2 BR, you can waitlist for 2 of them at the same time. It's up to you to pick which 2 (lockoff, dedicated with 2 queen in 2nd bedroom, dedicated with 1 queen plus sofabed in the second bedroom).

Well, I have interupted my countdown to POFQ in October and the Food and Wine Festival at Epcot to plan my trip to .....NOLA

My nephews are going to an AAU tourney May for the weekend and my parents want to see it so we're going to go down a day early so that we can sightsee. Then visit the oh so scenic inside of a gym. yeah I'm so not a basketball fan.

Hey what can I say, at least it's one day to get a real beniegt, (spelling is not my natural talent) at the Cafe du Monde, and to see a few French Quarter sights. I can only wonder though, will I spend the entire time going "gee, that doesn't look like POFQ."

What's even more of a gotcha moment....the weekend I'm going, there's a Food and Wine Festival.

Didn't want to start posting on here until I actually had a countdown for fear of jinxing it and NOW I HAVE ONE!! 206 days until we arrive at BC and I couldn't be more excited!

Hi all!

We just booked our first BC stay! I received a 30% PIN code (for the first time ever) and we decided to give it a try. This thread has been a great resource. Every time I think of a question, this is the first place I go.

Anyway, here's an obscure question... I am a daily iced-tea drinker. Cannot live without it. I prefer fresh brewed over Gold Peak... is there anywhere at BC where I can get fresh brewed to go? Does Beaches and Cream have it? And can I get it in the morning?

Thanks all,
Kathy

It was me asking. It was a huge "debate" on another board I follow and I knew we had the most expert, expert here so I asked! I am glad to know I was right. We can't wait. Thanks Teena!

Teena: Thanks so much for getting us the answer!!!

Kathy, I can't answer your question about the tea........but I wanted to welcome you to the thread!!!

You are going to fall in LOVE:lovestruc with BC. I really mean it. The resort is beautiful, the pool can't really be called a pool.....more like a vacation within a vacation. The location can't be beat!!!

My family who swore they wanted to start trying a different resort with each trip, can't imagine staying anywhere else.

Be sure and stop in the Lobby to meet Teena......she's usually there on Sunday and Mondays, but will be moving her days to Saturday and Sunday.

Anyway, once again WELCOME.

Congrats on your trip! :) We will be there at the same time. We'll be at YC in 203 days!

Thank you for reminding me! I had a waitlist request for a 2BR lock-off, but I forgot I can add another request for a different type of 2BR. Anyone have any idea how popular each category is? Ideally, a 2BR would work best for us since I get up early in the morning to run, but I am curious.....Thanks!

Wishing everyone HAPPY EASTER and special Passover observances with your families!

Teena- hope you have a fun Easter watching the kids collect their candy at the Beach Club.

This is why I am scared to travel around the world. "THAT doesn't look like the pavilion in EPCOT!"

:welcome: Kathy-

Let us know your dates if you would like to be added to the Be Our Guest list. :yay:

I hope you get the answer to your question. I am a coffee drinker in the morning. I always order ice tea in restaurants later in the day, but I don't know if you can get fresh brewed in the Marketplace or other CS places.

Can the beach club add my undercover tourist tix to our kttw cards? If so, who can do it? Can we do it when we check in?

I think so- I would think the CMs checking you in, or maybe someone at the concierge desk could do it, but I would feel better if someone who actually had done this can confirm.

I know this has been asked many times before but in your opinion how comfortable are the mattress in the pull out beds in the beach club villas? I have stayed in the villas before but had the mattress I think its my turn for the pull out this trip Im a little scared. I dont remember my aunts/cousins complaining about it being uncomfortable last trip so I am hopeful I will be ok with it

Hope everyone has a happy easter

Thank you! And passing the message along to all BC/YC fans!

There was an episode of How I Met Your Mother, where Ted's girlfriend said she was taking a job in Germany and Ted asked, "The country?" The girlfriend replied, "Yes, what other Germany is there?" Ted said "The one in Epcot" !!!!:rotfl:
