Dee great job on the new thread .... thanks for all your work.
Hi,
Does anyone know if the in room coffee makers are Keurig? I saw that they might be... Also, does anyone know if the lounge is open for coffee before 7:00? I will be traveling with my mom and she is an early riser. Last question - is WiFi really free in the rooms now?
Thank you in advance!
Hello BC/YC!
We are doing a split-stay this summer POR/YC and I am so excited! This will be DH, DD, and my first time at a Disney hotel and it will be a first visit to WDW for my in laws. DD wanted to be near SAB and I've always wanted to stay near the Boardwalk so it's a real treat!
I had a few questions I was hoping the YCers could answer. I am having hip surgery next month and FIL just had partial knee replacements so we will be a slow group. I am wondering if it is worthwhile to try and request ground floor rooms or if the elevators are convenient. I don't necessarily want an accessible room (would rather let those who truly need them have them) but want to anticipate sore limbs.
TIA!
Setting up my meals for this August!!! I will be there on my birthday and set up O'hana's for that night. Has anyone eaten there? I have only had breakfast. I am just wondering about folks opinions of the food.
Also I keep going back and forth on the dining plan....Could anyone try to tell me which is the better deal. My boys are 5 and 7. THey are not huge eaters. However, we were just there on February vacation and it seemed like we spent a ton of money on food. All the prices seem to have gone way up for the cash paying folks in order to make up for the dining plans (Pretty disappointing). The Crystal Palace was over $100 for breakfast which is crazy, but I understand we are there to see the characters. I just don't know if the meal plan is worth it. I can't even find on the website how much it is per person per day. Does anyone know????
Thanks in advance
Tracy

Does anyone know if the pool work (walls) is still going on? Thanks!
Where are you going to be the most. Pool, Epcot, DHS, Lobby, Buses to other parks, etc? Once we know where you need to go then someone will have the best suggestion on where to ask for.
Hello fellow Marylander - It sounds like you would like to minimize your walking for sure. The main elevators at YC are certainly convenient - right off the lobby and they are pretty quick. There is a single elevator - not so close to the lobby and veeerrry slow. In your situation consider requesting "close to main elevators". This would put you an elevator ride away from lobbby, bus and easy walk to SAB. You could request "close to lobby on first floor", however, there are not actually very many rooms close to lobby as the first floor in that area is primarily taken up by the store and restaurants. Hope that helps!
You sound like us - I have fibromyalgia & my friend has had 3 knee surgeries in the last 2 years - we are a sloooow moving duo! We used to be park commandos - now more the "meandering" type! I do notice with each trip, it gets more & tiring, but we won't stop!
We had a ground floor room at Poly last week - 1st ever - I usually request "not" to have ground floor because I have a snake phobia & I've seen too many "did you see the 6-foot snake IN the room" threads LOL. I have to admit that I loved it. For the average person it wouldn't make a difference to go out into the hall, through the building & around the outside to go places, but for us it was great to just walk out across the grass & be so much closer to where we wanted to be. I've not stayed at YC but I'm sure if you state what locations are most desirable to you - Epcot, SAB, lobby, quiet pool, etc. then someone can direct you as to what to request.
O'Hana has been a bit hit or miss for us foodwise, but we always enjoy the atmosphere. Kids seem to enjoy the games.
If you plan to do a lot of character meals, the DDP may be a good idea. The character meals/buffets are expensive and will drive up your food costs. If you prefer a bit of flexibility, then paying out of pocket may be easier. If you can get a TIW card that would be a way to save with out of pocket and keep your flexibility.
You mention you are going in August, will you be there during free dining? Maybe you could get it added to your reservation?

Just made my ADRs yesterday for our Sept trip. Why, WHY does our vacation have to be so far away???? I want to go now!
Yes and No- most of the rooms (including the concierge rooms) have the Cuisinart pod units. See Post 12, FAQ, on the first page of the thread for detailed pictures.
However the 1 and 2 BR suites (and maybe the VP and Presidental Suites), have the Keurig. Why???? No idea!
