2012 Beach and Yacht FAQ ~ March, April and May ~Do Not Post Here-Old Thread

We were able to do it from the Disney Cruise Line website after we had booked our cruise--it was somewhere in the "Vacation Planning" section and had a header like "Have Our Characters Call Your Characters" or something very close to that.

Does anyone know if you can schedule a character call for a WDW trip and how one does that?

If that isn't going to work, I know you can order the personalized park maps from the WDW website (in "Vacation Planning"), so that might be something to incorporate into however you surprise them.

Check out Disney's Enchanted Calls -- a search will pull it up.

It allows you to choose a character you would like the call from and then the message you want to send from a preselected group.

Check under "good morning" and taking a trip is an option. Not sure what else is out there but I recall being able to listen to the message to know for certain it said what I wanted it to.

Used for DD's first recital years ago when she was dancing to Winnie-the-Pooh -- he called to tell her great job. pooh:

It is just $2.49 per call and you need to be sure you plan accordingly to have the call answered.

I am leaving for the World in about 3 weeks. Traveling with my sister, all of our kids (3), and our mom. Staying at POFQ and looking forward to it. :goodvibes

However, my sister and I have a trip planned in October BY OURSELVES!!!! Staying at YC CL! I am over the moon with excitement! I can't stay off this thread! I'll sure I will never make it until October! :dance3:

that sounds like fun!!!

Wish I would have been able to plan a sisters only trip at least once.

Maybe I'll try a mother / daughter one instead.

Don't mind me. :wave2:

Just lurking for a little taste of BC/YC loveliness to get me through my day. :goodvibes (Which is just part of the reason, since I'm also checking my ticker.)

Sent an email off to IPO asking for the impossible: lunch ressies at Le Cellier. It's like asking for a quick, pleasant and fun trip to the DMV. All of my various appendages are crossed for that one...

@focusondisney---YAY you are in your Happy Place! are you club level? what view? how far is "as far from the lounge as possible"? we hit the road in 15 days, and check into YC in 17 days, so now I am wondering if I should request a room close to the lounge or just wish for anniversary pixie dust??

Did you ever get in touch with the IPO. Just send an email to address on page 1 of the CL info and add your reservation number.
I reached out to them & have been working with them. It just surprised me that they typically reach out to you. Then I read the BLOG that was linked to on post 10 (btw, the link does not work, but since you thanked Everything WDW I found them) and read up on some club level particulars.

We are 450 miles into our 990 mile drive. Today we stop in savannha, ga for the night then off to Daytona beach for 2 nights. Hope to catch Space X launch. Then on to the swan and then the yacht club.

Tomorrow dh and I will be checking into the Beach Club:goodvibes

:dance3::dance3:Have fun!!!!

As promised, here are the pics from the barber shop. We got home at 1:30am today - so tired!

Very awesome photos!! Is Meridia in MK AND Epcot?

We are now at YC-CL from 6/2-6/5 to kick off our 4 way CL split.:banana::banana:
We will be there the same time ast you -- 6/4 - 6/8! Look for us it would be fun to meet a DISer there. I'll be the happy chunky lady with the tall sexy hubby and my BFF :) (oh an apparently I am loud!:lmao::lmao:)

We will be arriving on July 8th A.M. and leaving July 15th P.M. Family of 4 DH, DD - 14, DD-12 and DW. DH and I were in WDW 20 years ago and stayed at the POR when it first opened. This will probably be our families only trip to WDW because we live in CA and go to Disneyland every few years. Next year I would like to go on a cruise to Alaska and would love to hear of anybodies experience especially if they went on Disney Cruise line.

check out eandesmom 's cruise TR, its awesome and has lots of on board photos as well as shore excursions. I believe its on the Cruise Line TR category Here is the link to eandesmom's tr

:lmao::lmao: love that mental picture!

So psyched that we are 17 days out. Yesterday I ordered these thingees that you slide a noodle through and make a chair out of, so we can float in the lazy river. CANT WAIT!!!

I've been drooling over the Show Me the Cupcakes thread on the restaurant board. (The perils of a low carb diet )

Seems like the Poly, BW Bakery etc have some new YUMMY looking cupcakes. Does the BC Marketplace have anything good?

If anyone wants to drool with me! :rotfl2:

Oh, I remember perusing this Thread of Thunder-Thigh Inducing Carb Overload last year... :thumbsup2

That Starring Rolls one is a killer -- in a very deliciously evilly good way. I tried the Oreo Bon Bon one from the BW Bakery and wasn't as bowled over as I was with the Starring Rolls. If the Marketplace has a nice one, I'm willing to offer myself up to test it for the good of research. Off to find a bib for my drool...

We had the Oreo one too and thought it was very average (and DS said the Oreo was soggy!!) I liked the Red Velvet at Starring Rolls (ALOT) but DH and DS split the Butterfinger and were underwhelmed. Captain Cooks has a Mango something or another that sounds promising that we may check out on our Kona night (In the name of research of course :rolleyes1) but I was curious if there was anything closer to where we are staying in case I am too full to get back to our room without the assistance of a luggage cart! :rotfl2:

I just noticed that today is my 100 DAYS before our WDW trip! It just seems too far away!!!:hourglass However, good news is that we booked our airfares with Southwest and the prices went down... $20/person and there are 7 of us going on that plane so it's a big chunk of change. :yay:

Just noticed: POST 1000! How about a 4 banana dance.....:banana::banana::banana:

Sorry I missed this special occasion Mike... yesterday was surgery day on my foot just getting around to reading the boards. My broken 5th metatarsal never healed properly so I'm now hoping the two screws they put in to hold the bones together works out :confused3. Back to couch bonding for 4-6 weeks popcorn::

Congrats on the 1,000 posts.. thats a lot of posts!!!

:lmao: Luggage cart! That's an excellent idea.

Agreed with your DS, that was part of the problem with the Oreo one: the Oreo itself was soggy and being straight out of the case, it was too cold and a bit tasteless.

I was so excited thinking about cupcakes again from that thread I left off the "Peanut Butter Chocolate" when referencing the one I loved from Starring Rolls. (It's the second on pictured in the glorious cupcake thread.) Glad you mentioned the Butterfinger one; I was tempted by it when ordering last year. I'm glad I stuck with the PB Chocolate. Red Velvet though? ... hmm. I didn't see that one when we were there. That's creating a sugar-filled conundrum of epic proportions. Indulging in both with a side order of luggage cart might be in order.

Oh, and something non-cupcakey! A question...

Does anyone know how many king bed rooms are located in CL? The woman from IPO suggested I put that as my request instead of for a daybed since we're only a party of 3. Just curious if how slim our chances are... (I know it's never a guarantee anyway.)

Hi Moira! I just have to second this plug for eandesmom's cruise TR! I followed as she wrote it and then re-read it all recently because we're getting ready for our Disney Wonder cruise to Alaska in August! E and E are similar in age to our two older boys, so their experiences have been very helpful to us. The photos are amazing and the "You'll never get me on a cruise . . . " title made even my husband pay attention to the report!

Also wanted to mention that mmmears is a HUGE help in Alaska planning -thanks for all the PM advice today!

As much as I love BC Marketplace, my dessert source is the Karamell Kuche in Epcot. When I help friends and family plan trips, they pay me in caramel pecan bars. :) The caramel pecan bars are seriously huge, but I cut them in quarters and eat a quarter at a time. (OK, last month I ate a half once - they are just amazing!) One of my favorite pixie dustings was when Jackie in BWI CL heard that I love them, but I couldn't buy any because we were staying at BWI and BC pre/post-cruise and didn't have park tickets. So she got TWO of them for me and then refused to let us pay for them. Love Disney!

My two favorite threads merging!

In March 2012 and March 2011, I saw 3 types of cupcakes at the Beach Club Marketplace:
