how do I create a ticker for my postings....would love to see it count down to this trip...honestly,..I am so excited for this trip....I am making everyone crazy.....and again I am so HAPPY that I chose the BC.....thanks to all again:yay:

Go to distickers.com. Enjoy looking at your ticker & enjoy your trip!

I think I got lost from the list.

We'll be at Beach Club August 18th to the 25th.

(My ticker is off )

I am now no longer going to post any comments to this thread about alcohol, now that I realized that my last 3 or 4 posts have involved drinking! I think I really DO need a vacation!!!! :rotfl2:

Second, thanks so much to Pixarmom. So, how did you pick out the things that you wanted in the gift baskets for the IPO to buy you? If I could get a gun from Frontierland, my DS would <insert appropriate Yiddish word here>.

OK, we have moved on from posts about alcohol to firearms. :scared1:

;)

But in addition to teasing you, I have some actual insight into this since we have purchased these rifles on our past 3 trips.

As you can imagine, getting them home can be problematic. I don't think you can carry them onto a plane, they may check them through to your destination, or you can try to fit them into your luggage.

My suggestion is to either ship from point of purchase (We shipped right from the Crows Nest film kiosk in Adventureland) or if you have other stuff to ship home, you can make the purchase in the park and send it back to the Beach Club Marketplace. You can then ship from there (adding other items if you have them).

The shipping from MK to Massachussets was $9.95 two weeks ago. Not sure what it would be to Canada.

The package took 10-12 days to arrive from when we shipped it, so it is best to order ASAP during your trip, to avoid the daily "Did it come yet? Did it come yet?" after you arrive home.

What I always do is find a ticker I like that someone else has, then click or double click on that. It brings you to the website to create and customize that ticker.

I didn't even realize we had a new thread! I just look for the BC/YC and don't even bother with the details.

Right now we're busy getting ready for DH's birthday trip but will be refocusing on our first ever Thanksgiving trip. After 30+ visits we are finally going to see the decorations and Christmas lights.

.

On our last trip, we brought home a rifle, a sword, and a double sided lightsaber. Boys will be boys pirate:. We packed them all in my DH's suitcase, and checked it at the airport with no problems. I'm guessing the security people in Orlando see these things go through all the time. Just make sure you have a big suitcase!

Now that I'm unpacked and laundry's all done and put away, I can post a few thoughts and pics!!!

We arrived @ the BC 7/21 @ around 9:50 am. Our family consists of DH, myself, DD (10 turning 11 two days after we got home), and DD 8. We had a standard view CL room booked but were elated to find we'd gotten upgraded to our very first water view room in over 14 stays!!!  This was our view:

AND just a few days into our trip, I recognized Robyn (Disneymomx7) from the meet pic on the first page just a mere 3 rooms over from us on the balcony one day! That's how we met! :goodvibes This is to show where our room was (where I was shooting the photo from) and Robyn's room-the balcony on the left) (Oh, and please ignore the digital "crease" in the middle of the photo... for some reason, anything taken with my Canon Powershot won't download to photobucket properly, but my D90 pics and my Kodak watercamera pics all went through fine????)

The first night we were there, we'd gone into Epcot and returned to find this waiting for us:

We were there celebrating my DH's belated 40th (we just HAD to go to commemorate his 40th bday when the MK was turning 40 :goodvibes ) and my older DD's 11th bday!

In addition to this very cool lightning picture I got after 40 minutes of persistence on our balcony...

I also caught this lightning pic from our balcony on our first full day....

This year we opted to NOT do the DDP since our older DD is a Disney adult and she would never eat $47.99 worth of food a day... :rotfl: We instead splurged on the Club Level (standard) with the 35% discount and paid OOP for food.... I kept a tally of our food costs just to see if I'd made the right decision. Normally on the DDP in the summer, we never bother with the desserts as it's just too hot to eat too much. The DDP would have cost us $942 for the 6 nights/7 days and we'd still have to pay for an extra meal that wouldn't have been covered. Our total cost of food/snacks/etc. was $748  If you throw in the cost of DH's beer excursions in Epcot's WS(which would not have been covered on DDP anyway), it brings the total to $847. We ate breakfast in the CL lounge every day but the last day in which we went to Cape May for breakfast (our traditional last day breakfast). We usually sampled the appetizers @ 5 before heading back into the parks so that we'd eat a light CS meal. We did 4 TS meals including the Cape May breakfast-the other 3 were lunch @ LeCellier, lunch @ Liberty Tree, and lunch @ Tusker House. The rest we did CS. I still gained 3 lbs. Darn! :confused3

This year we tried Typhoon Lagoon for the first time with our girls (I'd gone 20 years ago and used to do River Country as a kid)... They LOVED it, so I took them back a 2nd day  Loved shark reef!!! :thumbsup2 We also loved Crush n' Gusher :) Those donuts... OMG!!!!:cool1:

So much more to say.... perhaps I should do a TR soon!!! Anyway, what you've all been waiting for... pics from the meet!!! :) Teena was very surprised to see it was not just a meet, but also a baby shower  Here's a few pics from that night:

Now that I'm unpacked and laundry's all done and put away, I can post a few thoughts and pics!!!

Thank you so much for the mini review and incredible pictures!!!

Going out for a swim now, but sometime later today I will add some of the meet pictures to page 1.

What room number were you? I have "collected" your view.

Incredible lightning shot, again! I showed Mark and he said "It seems like there was a lot of lightning!" How was the weather?

Talk soon!

Dee

Thanks for the review kldmom2000.

So much fun to read and see pictures from other people's trips. It all looked wonderful.

Please remove us from the noodle swap. My MIL got some on clearance to take with us.

Dee-I have more meet pics that I'll PM you so before you add any, feel free to pick and choose which ones you'd like to put there... I took about 50 @ the meet so hold off on posting until you weed through them :rotfl: The post wouldn't let me put any more than the ones I put in it :rotfl: :rotfl:

We were in room #5667 :goodvibes Nice and close to the lounge and right above the back entryway of the BC facing the lagoon :thumbsup2

The weather:
7/21:arrival day/Epcot... HOT, HUMID.... started getting a little eery around 8:30pm as we were heading back to the BC-thought for sure it was going to rain....but it never did:
July2011Disney063.jpg

July2011Disney068.jpg

7/22: AK day(Epcot @ night).... HOT HUMID...late in the day we got rain, not torrential or anything. Thunder/lightning in the afternoon. It rained all evening until about 9:30/10? (My girls after ditching their ponchos on the way back to the BC)
July2011Disney169.jpg

7/23:MK day... HOT, HUMID.... no rain at all :)

7/24:Typhoon Lagoon Day (Epcot @ night)... HOT, HUMID... no rain at all :)

7/25:Back to TL (DH went to DHS) Meet @ night and campfire... HOT, HUMID, no rain at all :) but we did have a lightning storm after 9:30pm (I caught that photo a little after 10:15pm :) ) We were in SAB when it started and I thought perhaps it was Fantasmic! since it was happening in that vicinity... no thunder and no rain, but I was surprised the lifeguards didn't kick anyone out of the pool :confused3:confused3:confused3 I asked one if it was lightning or Fantasmic! and he said it was lightning-very common that time of year.... I hightailed it out of the pool and got my girls out too :rotfl:

7/26:AK again (love that park)... HOT, HUMID... very cloudy, but no rain :)

7/27: MK/Departure day :(.... 60% chance of showers so we brought the ponchos into MK.... very cloudy, muggy, and of course HOT.... 3:30 pm the skies opened up w/ a big thunder storm..... it eased up on our way to MCO @ 5:15... only to start again as we were about ready to take off @ 8:10 (the rain started, but the pilot was rushing all the last boarders to hurry up and pick a seat (SWA) as he wanted to get up before any lightning :scared1: )

I was thrilled with the great weather we had and it was actually COOLER in Disney than it was back @ home in New England :rotfl: the first few days!!! LOL! I always get asked by friends/family WHY on earth we go in the summer when it's sooooo hot..... my response is that it's hot there and hot @ home... but I'd rather be in Disney :thumbsup2:thumbsup2:thumbsup2

  • Thanks for the TR's Jenn and kidmom. Great info and love the pic's. Family splashing in puddles at Disney. Priceless.
  • Believe ATF and TSA might be monitoring this board.
  • Dee's not smiling at the meet. Why is Dee not smiling at the meet?
  • Nanny sure looks happy!

One month from today is when my family and I are having our 1st stay at the Beach Club and I am really looking forward to it.

So excited to be heading to BCV for the first time in 2 weeks!! I love the baby shower pictures! We had a fun conversation with Teena 3 years ago before our character breakfast, I am looking forward to chatting again! I think she even went and copied all the CM pin sets for us, very helpful in our quest for pins.

We returned yesterday from our fantastic stay at the Beach Club Villas...as sad as that is we took home some fantastic memories. I am going to post a few of the pics I took of the BC. The first person I met upon arrival was Teena...she is such a nice person! Our room was ready so we headed straight to our 2 bedroom villa. We had the set up with a queen bed and pull out sofa in the second bedroom...
