I need some experienced opinions on where would be a good place to grab breakfast on the way to the parks. We will be staying at the BC for two days in December and the YC for four days. We have previously stayed at the YC and tried the Marketplace, but it was pretty chaotic. Are there other options for a quick, grab breakfast and go?

Thanks so much!

Edited: ↑↑↑↑↑ MM said it better ↑↑↑↑↑ (Great pic's of Ale & Compass on page 98)

In addition to the excellent advice given above, here are a few other (vague) ideas:

We are EMH rope-droppers, and we don't like any to have any stops between our room and the park we are visiting. We try to prepare in advance so we can have something to eat in the room in the morning before leaving.

You can bring a box of Poptarts, cereal or oatmeal (hot water from coffee maker) from home to prepare in the room since those things are very light and will travel well in your luggage. Get some milk and juice from the Marketplace and keep it cool in your room fridge.

You can also bring something back to the room the night before and have a quick breakfast in the room- banana, fruit cup, scones, muffins, donuts, that sort of thing.

Sunshine Seasons bakery, the bakery in France or MK Main Street Bakery and HS Boulangerie mentioned above may have something that appeals to you and would hold over well until the morning. If you get something the night before, you won't have to waste valuable park time time on lines in the morning.

Or think about if there is something you like in the park you are visiting the day/night before that you would purchase on the way out of the park. I have an iron stomach, so there is nothing off-limits for breakfast including cold pizza, sushi or a cold stirfry noodle dish, all that can kept in the fridge.

Our first stay at the BC is coming up quite soon. I was wondering how it worked with water delivery as I know that BC is a convention resort, therefore a fee will be charged for each of the cases we have delivered. Will we have to call after we check into the room to have the water located/brought up to the room or will it be waiting for us in the room?

I think you got lost in the discussion of Mankinis and phone books. Are you having the water shipped by UPS or Fed Ex? Then yes, you will be effected by the convention hotel rules. Are you using Garden Grocer or one of the other local delivery places? Then the convention hotel rules won't apply. Either way, you'll have to check in and have a room assigned before they will bring anything up to the room. Don't want to have your water delivered to MM's room, do you? Check out page one of the thread. There is information there on delivery rules and convention deliveries. I'm sure someone else can provide better and more insightful information. I just didn't want your question getting lost. Have a great trip and watch out for flying phone books.

Ah yes, I saw the mankini. Shortly thereafter, a sharp burning sensation occurred in my retinas -- not sure what could've caused it, though it might've been from the flaming-hot sticks I poked in there.

Thanks very much for the reply. I believe Costco delivers via UPS. As long as I can get my precious water at some point the day we check in, I'll be a happy camper ... with or without the vanishing phonebooks. :thumbsup2

Can't wait--only 8 days until we arrive at the Beach Club. Would love to stop and say HI to Teena if she'll be around!! The 17th can not come quick enough!!

We'll be checking in the same day. Our first stay at BCR!:yay:

Breakfast!

We've done the same as Dee - stocked up on breakfast items for the room for a quick breakfast for the room. We've also had very positive experiences with breakfast at BC Marketplace around 7am - not crowded in our experience at that time in the morning. (Seems to get more crowded there shortly before the parks open and right after Epcot closes.) We stopped by Ale and Compass earlier this year and it wasn't too crowded either (again, that was very early.)

Here's the link to the BC Marketplace photos so you can get an idea of the types of grab and go and hot foods they offer:

We also like Boardwalk Bakery, but the Marketplace or in-room are our favorites if we're not staying CL. Picabu has some great options and is less than a 10 minute walk from YC!

And a quick pitch for CL: For our family of 5, that CL breakfast is perfect before the parks. Really easy, fresh, nice variety. And as I mentioned in my review, the hard boiled eggs are a nice addition!

We've been known to visit Boardwalk Bakery the night before to grab their awesome Carrot Cake for breakfast the next morning. I'm on vacation and carrots are veggies therefore it is a healthy breakfast!:rolleyes1

I'll be there on Sunday and Monday. Looking forward to meeting all of you!!

And strawberry shortcake from Sunshine Seasons counts as a fruit!

Boy am I behind!!!

Frankly, I would prefer it not be in the drawer, I need my drawer space:thumbsup2
All kidding aside....Have a great time at YC CL!!! We love it there!! Last year was there during the W & D Half and had the BIGGEST balcony ever, it was shared by 3 other rooms, but never saw anyone til the day we checked out! I could have hosted a party out there!
Happy Birthday!

That is standard view right?...maybe we'll get that room.

I love the YC & BC, but everyone has different opinions- we stayed at the Contemporary and HATED it- but that doesn't mean that someone else doesn't LOVE it.

Thats why there are so many different types of hotels-:banana::
I agree!
Phew, glad to come back here with all you lovely people... :) Most of the complaints on the "thread that shall not be named" were LAME. I can't post though because I haven't stayed there yet! LOL

Teena, so glad you got your ADRs and ENJOY the trip!

I couldnt get my DD anywhere near that clown slide at the BWI! Someone showed her a scene from It (Pennywise, anyone????) and she's a bit off the clowns at the moment. :lmao:

I have to say that I would prefer CMs in CL who didn't chat with me unless I started chatting with them first. I can't be the only one???? Especially in the morning, pre coffee. :rotfl2:
The clown slide scares me too!
Now it's clowns? First evil green mankinis and now CLOWNS?

You are an evil, evil woman, MM. Evil, indeed.

:rolleyes1

(although that IS the reason I've never even considered booking BWI. Seriously, I hate the clown that much!)
Mee too! I keep thinking that I want to try BWI and then I look at the slide and say "No thank you":rotfl:
 Just picked up our ME from AAA.

21 more days to go ^_^

On another note, how in the world do you work these darn luggage tags? :lmao:

You have to seperate the plastic down the middle to make it like the old ones...Once you do that you loop it thru the tag hole and put one end thru the middle and pull...Hope that makes sense cause it is kinda of hard to explain.:lmao:

Thanks ^_^ Feel silly that I didn't get that, lol! :o

About breakfast, what they said. I usually bring a box of muffins, sit outside on my balcony/patio and have a muffin and tea. My DS and DIL would sleep til noon if you let them (youth) and I get up a the crack of dawn so it works for me. On the rare morning I don't do that, love the parfait from BC marketplace, it's so big my DS usually has to finish it for me. You can grab it, eat and walk/ride at the same time.

No phones books, I'm cancelling my res. right now. Seriously, they do make good coasters for your water glass at night.:cool1:

My eyes are burning, that was just wrong.:scared1:

6 more days and we are there. Getting excitied now. If anyone is near the livings seas around 4:30/5:30 on Wens. the 21st stop by the window and give us a wave, we will be diving. I love to wave and blow kissess to the little ones, they get so thrilled to see the divers.

OK, that is great point. For the record, my two stays at the Beach Club were both at Club Level and honestly, the convenience of the breakfast was my family's favorite part of CL. We would have our meal at 7 am when the lounge opened, be finished and at the bus stop by 7:30 and we would arrive at whatever theme park we were visiting by the 8am EMH rope drop.

The strategy I described previously involving stocking up with food from home and getting pastry and bananas the night before was employed at a stay at a hotel at a theme park "Which must not be named". Although we stayed club level there, the concierge lounge did not open until 7 am, the same time that the park opened for on-site guests, so we had to make other arrangements for breakfast.

About breakfast - I've gotten pastries from Boulangerie Patisserie as take-out (in the evening). You could pick that up the previous evening along with some cold items from the Marketplace, store everything in your fridge (yogurts, chocolate milk, fruit) and have your own "continental breakfast" in your room. I also bring packs of nuts and protein bars from home as protein sources.
