We've been away from the DIS for a while. What's new at the YC/BC?
I am home but very worn out. Gallbladdar don't miss at all so far. Some pain and pulling near belly button, but hardest thing is swallowing. big cuts on soft pallet and tonsils so real hard to eat drink or talk. My DH and DS have been great. Thanks for the prayers! Also please pray for my dad tommorow. He will be at Florida South becase his pacemaker/defibulator needs to be changed. Because of my surgery I can't be there, so I worry. He has only one working arterie so when they stop his heart to make sure the equipment is working, there is always a chance. Prayers are greatly wecomed. My dad's name is Dan Southerland. Thanks for all you support!![]()
Ok so this is probably the wrong crowd to ask this too but someone please talk me out of thinking about planning the next Disney vacation before i even go on the one i have currently planned!
Our plan was to go once a year and since my husband is a ESPN employee we get discounts. We figured we have to take the kids while they are young and take advantage of the great perks of being a Disney cast member.
Well our plans changed when my sister decided to get married next June in Jamaica so that kinda blows the vacation budget out of the water. I feel terrible that i won't be taking them on a vacation next year and i keep trying to talk myself into beleiving that we will have the money when the time comes.
Ahhh someone talk some sense into me!
Start saving now for both vacations.Set a goal each month for the extra you'll need for the Disney vacation. Set aside the money in a separate Disney vacation savings fund at the Bank. That's what we did for last June's 10 day Fiesta at the BC. Having that separate account and making deposits really helped to keep us motivated.
We cut way back on things like take out Coffee, dining out and we quit smoking even though we had never started!Another thing I did was put aside money I had saved from coupons used at the supermarket and other stores. It was fun to make a Disney deposit. When you save up over months at at time it feels like it's not such a ding to the budget.
Consider staying at a cheaper place, maybe at a Value or GASP Off Site!!!![]()
Set you mind to this savings plan, get everybody on board and GO FOR IT!!!

Thanks for the advice. I would still have to talk my DH into going again...not exactly sure how i'm going to do that. Good thing is i was already just thinking of staying at CSR instead of a Deluxe. I would love to stay at the YC or WL again but don't think i can swing it. With my husbands discount it will only cost me about $900 for a week at CSR. Then i would figure about $1000 for plane tickets and whatever we spend on food. Ugh maybe i should just wait till we get back from our trip on Sept 30th and talk him into it then.
Get him good and drunk first.... then do the talking, video tape it, perhaps with him wearing some of your "clothing" and then show it to him when he's sober with the understanding that you're going, or the videos going on 'you-rube"
I mean we are talking Disney here people, ya gotta do what ya gotta do....
