Teena,

OMG Baby Lily is soooo beautiful!!!! Oh and the outfit and ears will be VINTAGE When she is one day!!! WHen I am on here with grandkids!!!

princess:

Congratulations Teena, Jeanne & family!! She is beautiful!!Jeanne looked great in her before photo & Teena looked lie the proud nana she is!!

Thanks sto6917 for your review. I'm not staying at BC but if people were giving looks to a toddler there I wonder what they will be doing to my little ones at the Regatta Club?! I hope it was just the heat and not how people feel in CL.

Hopefully it was a rare case - I still can't get that one lady's face out of my head! :rotfl:

Have a great time at the Regatta!:yay:

Yacht Club or Beach Club?

Here are the room plans for both:

Anything close to the pool and transportation would also be close to the lobby so you should probably request "near lobby".

For Beach Club, it looks like the rooms on the 1st floor map that you see jutting out to the left of the lobby (#s 1630-1647).

For Yacht Club, #1147 to 1163 probably.

thank you! The maps and floor plans are great info and very much appreciated. We are thinking about Yatch Club, as I have read that all/most all 1st floor rooms have a patio.

thanks again:thumbsup2

Interesting that you were able to get reimbursed for your cab fare. Did you ask about getting your fare back, or did a CM volunteer that info?

We went to the Concierge desk to ask about getting to Epcot for the backstage tour, they told us to take the cab, keep the receipt then turn it in for credit. Guess it's cheaper for them to do that then to provide bus transportation for those that need to go to the front of Epcot and are not able to enter at IG.

Sorry you had to post again. I saw your question answered a few pages ago but with this thread moving so fast it would be easy to miss. I would just indicate first floor, close to lobby. Do not do express check-in and when you get to the desk to register, make sure the toom meets your needs. They will do everthing they can to accomodate you. If it isn't available the day you arrive, ask for them to relocate you at the next earliest opportunity.

Happy planning

Congrats to Teena & family on Baby Lilly's arrival!!! :cheer2::grouphug:

Question for the veteran Beach Club people...or anyone who has been there!! :)--We have rented an SUV for the last week of September. We have a 21 month old and felt that it would be easier getting to early breakfast reservations. We are now double guessing ourselves. Each morning, we have a 8am breakfast reservation at Crystal Palace, Tusker House, and Chef Mickey's. The other two breakfast are at Cape May Cafe and at HS. Do we need a car?? We are paying $184.00 for the week and just keep going back and forth. We are bringing our BOB jogger and felt it would be easier to have a car than lugging that on and off the buses too. Opinions would be greatly appreciated!!

Now this is just me personally, I would not rent the car but I would use the money saved to take a cab during times when I would feel better not having to rely solely on Disney transportation. That is our plan. I think even with your stroller you will be fine, 1 person for the baby and 1 person for the stroller on the bus.

I agree! We have three boys (now ages pre-school to pre-teen) and we've been taking them to Disney since our oldest was 18 months old. One thing we love about Disney is the fact that we don't have to rent a car. A few thoughts:

1) If you cab to Chef Mickey's and Crystal Palace (and assuming those are both MK days for you) you could take the bus back. Our cab fare to CR was approximately $18 with tip, and about the same for our cab to Ohana at the Poly for breakfast. If you have park hoppers and you leave MK before Epcot closes, you can hop on the monorail and stroll through Epcot on your way back to BC. We do this often - especially when we have someone asleep in the stroller! It's not necessarily the fastest route, but we enjoy it and we don't have to fold up the stroller to get on the bus.

2) It's relatively easy to take the early bus to AK for Tusker House. We did this in February without a problem.

3) We've always used a lightweight and easy-to-fold stroller at Disney, so we haven't had any difficulty with the buses. As long as our stroller reclines and includes a basket and a canopy, our kids have been fine. Our most recent is a Maclaren quest and we love it.

4) You might really appreciate Magical express with an almost-two-year-old! We've used Magical Express many, many times. It has always been super easy for us and our kids love it. (How can you beat a Disney-themed bus with a movie about WDW?) And of course, it's free! We always walk past the car rental counters and think how happy we are to be walking onto a bus, getting luggage assistance, etc. instead of standing in line at the car rental counter, installing a car seat, figuring out directions, etc.

Location and easy transportation are two significant benefits of staying at BC! Hope you have a great trip!! :wizard:

Plus if you take your own car you may still have to take a tram which is WORSE than a bus with a stroller. (That early in the morning it most likely won't happen but other times of the day it would.)

With the abundance of scooters and every, "known to man and beast" stroller configuration you will be fine on the buses. There are 2 types of cabs, Minivan 7 passenger cabs and then the regular car type. For the early am breakfast ressies you can go to the front entrance of the Hotel and ask the Bell people to hail you a cab that will accommodate your needs.

I have a feeling once you take the buses and the occasional early morning cab you will not miss the rental car.

Good luck, AND REMEMBER TO TELL THE CAB DRIVER TO TAKE YOU TO THE CONTEMPORARY HOTEL WHEN YOU WANT TO GET INTO MK EARLY. If you say Take me to the Magic Kingdom the closest the CAB can take you is to the ticket and Transportation area .

The Contemporary hotel Cab drop off is a quick 10 minute walk to the front of the Magic
Kingdom versus being dropped off at the Ticket and Transportation area and having to get on the ferry or the monorail to get you to the MK.
