2011 Expo

I am a member and the ticket site acknowledges me as one, auto fills the field etc., and will sell me the $85/3 day tickets. I cannot find any option on the screen to buy the premier tickets. I have tried going all the way through to the secur payment screen with no luck. I have to be doing something wrong, but I can't see it. Any ideas?

Maybe they really sold out this time? (for those of us who were frantically clicking all morning yesterday, there was a glitch that said all the packages were sold out the minute booking began). Maybe clear out your cookies and try again?

If anyone is unable to register for the Premier because it is sold out, post here, please! I am trying to log in as a member and I plan on staying up until my membership goes through. I hope that the 24 to 48 hours is only CYA because I would like to go to bed tonight. Either I get in or it sells out, but I'm sticking with my computer!

Did you get the package? That much determination should be rewarded!

We're wanting to go really bad, since we had the best time in 2009 at the Expo. We just have a committment possibly the weekend before in Seattle, so we're trying to see if we can do two trips in a row. UGH. I would hate to miss it this year. I wish they would come out with a lot of details about it so we can make a decision.

I finally gave up and went to sleep very late last night and got up early this morning and have still been trying to get it and it has yet to recognize my member number! You'd think in this day and age they would have real time updating! I do have hope another friend of mine was able to put the Premier package in her shopping cart around 7AM Pacific time (I asked her to do it as a favor in case it might "hold" one for me :rotfl:). So they weren't sold out a couple hours ago. I will continue to try until it either kills me or I get in!

Bought the Premier last night. I would have picked up the Sorcerer's package, but it looks like it's sold out. I'm wait listed though. Having sat in line for hours at the last Expo, the reserved seating alone is worth the money to me.

I got the Premier! :cool1:

I finally gave up and went to my Dr appt and the first thing I did when I got back was try to log in again and I got in! Both DP and I got to the final screen and hit "submit payment" at the same time! Yay!

If we had unlimited money and it wasn't sold out we would have done the Sorcerer's package for the reserved admissions alone, but we'll take admission to the Arena with the Premier. At least we've wised up and are staying onsite this time!

This will save a lot of time. I remember last year watching an imagineer presentation and trying to rush down the the Parks and Resorts presentation in the Arena. We did get seats but they were in the nose bleed section. And I had the pleasure of waiting in a long line.

Maybe we'll get lucky and more popular presentations that were in small rooms last yr will be moved into the arena this yr. The only other option as I see it would be to have fewer simultaneous sessions so that they could make the rooms physically larger.

We were absolutely astonished when we arrived an hour early for our first presentation the first day and the line wrapped all the way around the foyer. I think it was the DL footage one. We realized that doing two in one day might not be possible. The next day we watched I think it was WoC and wanted to see the "We make the Music" after that, the line was so long, we got in the standby line and barely made it into that one.

The Arena situation was nuts! We didn't even go to the one with Johnny Depp, but the Parks and the Pixar ones were crazy. Since we'll be staying at the Hilton I think we'll be able to see a lot more this year, I can't wait! I'll have to get a ticker!

Hey everybody - I just wanted to thank you for helping me get my ticket!

You were all so convinced I should be able to get to the package screen just by clicking through that it occurred to me that something was wrong either with my account number or my profile, so I went back in and deleted/removed/wiped everything, logged completely out and started from scratch, even making a change to my profile, and WOW, a screen I had not seen in at least 20 attempts came up just as you said it wouild, and the tickets were still available!

I am a happy (and broke!) owner of a Premier Ticket! See you all there.

Thanks again for your help.

Totally awesome. I'm glad so many are able to get the Premier Package. :thumbsup2 It sounds totally awesome. DH and I just took a MAJOR vaca for our 25th anniversary or I'd be right with you all. It's our first time at the expo, so my sister and I will be going with regular tickets for this trip. Have to admit that I am getting scared :scared1: about all the lines I'm hearing about. So tell me...

Are there exhibits...booths...other things that are not filled with tons of people? Did anyone NOT get into an event that they wanted to see?

Is anyone planning to go to the parks too? Sis and I are planning to arrive early and visit the DCA. I haven't been yet (last time I was in Disneyland was over 27 years ago).:scared1::eek::scared1:

There were some non-Disney corp sales booths and lots of very cool Disney exhibits on coming park attractions the world over so there were things besides the seminars if you didn't make it in - and there were definitely seminars where hundreds of people were turned away. Disney seemed to misjudge the popularity of park/legends/animation seminars vs ABC/movie ones, but by the last day they were moving events around based on what had been happening and providing larger rooms.

The really hard bits were getting from 1 seminar to another - back to back was very difficult to do -- line-ups were starting an hour or more before some events. Add to that the crazy security where you had to surrender all electronics ( even my son's camera-less gameboy!) and then pick them up again - I nearly missed Johnny Depp racing to get my stuff back so I could go to another presentation!
So the $1000 ticket was tempting, but just too hard to justify that much money for me. I've gotten closer to the legends at NFFC and 1313 club events anyway.

That is what put me over the top for the Sorcerer's package. The seating is for both the arena and presentations. I think my friend and I figured we stood/shuffled/sat/dashed for crappy convention food/freaked out about leaving line for bathroom breaks/ for 26 hours last Expo...I'm old and creaky. Knowing I have a seat will be a big deal. As I rationalized..it's just like paying for Fantasmic! dessert seating 14 times..;)

The exhibits and booths were very cool (especially the Parks one..wow) but we felt like we rushed to see everything because we'd be watching a growing line to get in the arena and felt we had to hustle over there. We also wanted to see some of the ABC premiers, but again, with all the line waiting that wasn't possible. We got into everything we tried to get into, but we had to give up on seeing many things because of the time commitment with the lines. I hope they work something out to help with this. The worst situation I saw was for the cruise line. We got in line very early..they were trying to control the line and keep track of people so they could stop letting people get in line when the room would be full. (they had made this room smaller from the previous day's presentation..I think because they were giving away DCL Alaska scarves and they only had so many). Anyway.. they counted walking the line, they told people they couldn't leave the line, they came by with clickers..what they didn't know was that after they clicked on by many many people met up in line with friends..line cutting was pretty rampant. Totally unfair to those at the end who thought they had a seat. I heard alot didn't get in after waiting in line.
We also learned that even if you just think something is going to be ehhh..go. We passed on the movie showings, but found out later there were always little surprises..like Richard Sherman popping up and playing. I love that Disney underpromised and overdelivered and hope they do the same next year..

I'll come in a day early and stay a couple days after. I won't go to the parks during the Expo..we did that last year and regretted it..there is just too much cool stuff at the Expo to miss anything and they go until like 11 pm.

LOL.us too! Dick Cook started saying.."Ok, thanks for coming...." and we got up..then we hear the Pirates music and see this fog rising from the stage....:eek:AAAIIIIGGGHHHH:eek: we hustled back to our seats..Amazing .

My original schedule and my schedule after reality set in Thursday were two different things!

We really had to pick and choose among the seminars knowing that there would be several hours wait for anything we wanted to do.

We also made the mistake of driving home every night. This time we're staying at the Hilton. So far I have Thursday and Friday nights booked. Each day I make a new reservation one day longer until I have the whole thing booked.

I'm hoping this year we can check out the movies at night, we were just too tired after waiting in lines all day to stick around for the movies.

:goodvibes This struck a chord with me. At first I was concerned by the amount of people talking about the long lines and the difficulty in getting from seminar to seminar. Even people being turned away at some of the more popular events. :scared1: But, just as you said lcasa...Disney learned and adapted quickly. I'm sure that the troubles that were seen in the first expo will undoubtedly be solved for next year. :thumbsup2 My faith is in Disney...after all...they aren't amateurs when it comes to these sorts of things...they adapt, they learn, and they make it better. pixiedust: Let the pixie dust fly...I'm ready to play.

On the first day the poor CMs who were trying to guide the queues were WAY in over their heads. By the last day able bodied people were lining up downstairs and being led up to the room just as the seminar was seating. Handicapped line ups were outside the room and it was much more manageable. Evidently the rooms where most of the seminars took place had a capacity of 800 people, so hopefully they will schedule more in the arena and less in the other rooms or duplicate seminars.

I had lined up for some of the seminars downstairs (and then they walked you upstairs). It was organized but keep in mind, you still had to line up well in advance. And the rooms even towards the end were still too small. The imagineering lectures were by far the most popular. I'm hoping they move those into the arena or at least set up a room that's twice the size of the ones they had (if they can).
