Can anyone tell me how long the day bed is and if the back folds down? I have only seen pictures of it and it looks like a couch. My son is 6ft tall and I am hoping he will fit on it. If anyone knows where I can see pictures, I would greatly appreciate it. As always, thank you in advance:)

There are two different types of daybeds at both the Yacht and Beach. The old one would only fit a person (IMO) about 5'5" and shorter. The new ones would be fine for you ... again IMO.

You cannot tell until you walk into the room whether or not it has an old daybed or a new daybed. The front desk CM cannot tell you (if you ask) whether or not the room has an old one or new one.

You can see a picture of the new day bed if you go to Post #1079, second picture, at http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1735844&page=72. The person that posted that picture posts on this thread too somaybe they can tell you their impression of it.

Post 1018 on page 68 of that same thread shows the old daybed. It doesn't pull out and is rather "skinny" width wise. It's best for a child.

Does anyone know if they will be having the candy scramble on Easter Sunday??? And also if they will be doing Easter baskets in the gift shop?? I know they did this a few years ago but wasn't sure if they still did. Thanks so much for any help!!!

Hi everyone! :goodvibes

We're staying lagoon view CL in June. What's the chance we will get a full size balcony? There is nothing I like more than sitting out on the balcony in the morning with a coffee and I will be really upset if we don't get one. Does anyone have any idea of our chances, as I understand not all BC rooms offer full size balconies?

Thanks! :thumbsup2

Assuming you are BC not YC then make sure your one request on your reservation is for the full size balcony, then kidnap Tinkerbell and hold her for ransom until you check in. It's up to the gods of reservation if you get your request honored or not. But you won't get it unless you ask for it. Sort of like playing the lottery, can't win if you don't have a ticket (then you still can't win!)

Bought a brand new camera the week before the trip, took over 200+ photos. On second to last day of our trip the memory card said no images were found. Currently the camera place I bought the camera from has sent it to an offisite location as they had no luck recovering the photos. Keeping my fingers crossed.

Sorry to hear about the photo problems, I can relate (been there, done that, have the tee-shirt to prove it). Good luck with the recovery attempt. Hope it helps, keep us posted. By the way, how was the rest of the vacation?

Probably a stupid question - Do the BC rooms have a shower above the bath? & Do ALL hotels at WDW have showers above the bath?

Never a stupid question, only stupid answers (like most of mine). In all the stays I've had on WDW properties (YC, CR, Poly, GF, WL, POR, FWC, Dolphin) the shower head has been on the wall about six feet up in the bath tub. I do not know if the shower head is moveable in the handicapped bathrooms but I would think if Disney were truely compliant then it would be.

According to my notes (which could be totally wrong):

At the Beach Club, there are:

38 Standard View Club Rooms
9 Garden View Club Rooms

Teena- how many Water/Lagoon view, or how many total club rooms???

Further, from my notes- there are 8 rooms in the club level with standing balconies:

Specifically: 5648, 5662, 5664, 5692, 5726, 5685, 5687 and 5727.

Teena- any chance you know the view categories on these?

If I am given this information, I can tell you the probability that you will receive a full balcony with your waterview CL room. I think the chances are pretty high.

Wow, thanks for that information! Really helpful! Would be awesome if Teena could help out with the additional questions too.

Appreciate your help! Thanks! :goodvibes :wizard:

I've worked every Easter for 7 years and they have always had one so I would assume so again this year. Yes, the merchandise manager said they just got in their baskets and were ready to go on them.

At the Beach Club, there are 26 lagoon view club level rooms. Three do not have full balconies and one of those three has a king bed in it. So your chances are good you will get one. They are even better if you add "full balcony requested" on your reservation so our computer system will see it when assigning your room.

88.5 % chance of getting a Water View CL room with a full balcony.:teacher:

Pretty good odds.

First, thank you very much for your detailed response... Second, the new and old daybeds are scattered through out the resort in "standard" rooms"? or would we have to book a certain room category to "possibly" get a newer daybed? Also, we have five booked for our room and I was told that a daybed is guaranteed with five in my reservation.

Again, from my notes, which may be suspect:

For NON-CL rooms, I have the following numbers:

12 Standard View rooms with daybeds
1 Garden View with daybed
7 Lagoon View with daybeds

These counts include both the old style and new style- do not know how many of each.

Yes, a party of 5, with all members over age 3, would be guaranteed a room with a daybed. If one of your family members is under 3, you are considered to have 4 members and the daybed would need to be a request (you could also request a rollaway)

HTH!

Goodmorning!

After working 3 days there was alot to catch up on....

:scared1: I hope we dont see any of the lime green thong things at SAB this summer:rotfl:

doccoc2002- praying you get good results:goodvibes

They are scattered around ... in the YC and BC in all room categories. However, in my personal opinion, I think there are more on the fifth floor (club level) than on the other four floors but one of my co-workers says she doesn't think that's true (but I do). Obviously I'm not in all the rooms ... just sporadically do I go into a room. We can't pull up a report or anything to tell. If you ask any manager or any cast member anywhere if room 5642 has a new or old daybed, they wouldn't know. We can pull up the rack and tell you the bedding configuration in each room and we can tell you whether or not it has a daybed, but we cannot tell you if its an old or new daybed. You can't even request a new or old daybed because there is no way of the room assignor or the computer system to know whether its an old or new daybed in the room.

Keep checking!
When the discount first came out I wanted two gv cl rooms. One for my in-laws July 16-23 and one for us July 16-31. Only sv rooms were available with the discount so I switched to sv. A few days later we were able to change our room to gv cl July 16-25 and sv cl July 25-31. We had to bump my in-laws up to lagoon view cl July 16-23. Yesterday my TA emailed me that she was able to get my in-laws back to a gv cl room July 16-23, still nothing for the July 25-31 dates.

It seems that rooms do open up. I'm hoping to book the AP rate for a gv room for the July 16-25 reservation so we can do the DDP for the week my in-laws are with us (they like buffets). I'd still like to bump up our July 25-31 sv cl room to a gv cl room, but we'll see what happens. If not I'm going to beg them to let me pay the difference at check in so we can keep the same room.

I'll be looking for you in the cl lounge!

I keep looking...nothing so far...it would be great if there was one with the AP...if not we will make the most of it!

Hope to see you in the lounge:goodvibes

You know I'm not going to obsess about it. If the AP rate comes out and we can only get sv cl so be it! Some of the rooms that they classified as sv look pretty "gv" to me.

When the time gets closer I'm hoping we can arrange another "Mini Dis Meet" like we did last year (see page 1)!

I'm sure you'll see us in the lounge. I'll have 2 dds, ds, and dh with me. So 3 kids means 2 against 1. I'll probably be the one separating the kids!

We usually get to the lounge early in the morning as we are "rope drop" people. We usually do evening appetizers around 5:30.

We'll look for you!
