Who has rented the surrey bikes? I was actually thinking about doing maybe doing this on our upcoming trip. We're a family of 5. Is this feasible with 5 of us? Can I just sit back and let the family peddle me around? princess:

I've only rented a two-person surrey cycle recently. I think you can squeeze five people into one of the larger cycles as long as at least one of them is a child. Whether you can sit back and let the rest of the family pedal depends on how many actually will do it and how strong they are. Another guest and I had to help push-start one family up the bridge by the S/D after they were unable to pedal up by themselves. Making those climbs is not easy; especially on your second or third time around.

We rented the two person surrey bike last time we were at BC. It was a workout and we are in shape people who go to the gym at least 5 days a week. Getting up the hills was exhausting! However, it was tons of fun and we'd definitely do it again.
I don't think you should have a problem fitting as a family of 5 as long as the kids are smaller and two can sit with an adult or all three kids sit together.

I'll probably have time to work on this Friday- may be stuck at home due to a forecasted snowstorm. NO KIDDING!

Hi Dee - do you remember the last April Fools Day storm around here? It was 1997 and it was a doozy - we got like a foot of snow! I was stuck inside with a colicky baby, I'll never forget it. We'd better not get a repeat of that!:sad2:

Doccoc - so glad you got some good news! My sister in law went through this last fall and she has a 10 yr old and a 3 yr old. The surgery and recovery were difficult for her, but her friends found an amazing website called Lotsa Helping Hands. It was invaluable for her and her kids! If you'd like more info on it, I can PM you the info. Continued good luck!

Just want to let you all know I have heard from Teena. She is back home, very tired and very sore- too uncomfortable to post or catch up on the boards (she is going to have a few pages to get through when she gets to it)
:)

The surgeon is extremely confident that they got out everything this time. Teena expects to start radiation on April 25.

I knowTeena appreciates all of your prayers and good wishes for these past couple of months!

I totally remember the April Fool's storm! I was working in Boston at the time, my biggest client was in Buffalo New York and when I had to call them and tell them we were closing the office due to the snow, they scoffed at us for being wimps. You hardy Western New Yorkers know what I mean!

My poor crocuses are gonna get covered!

Another thumbs up for Lotsa Helping Hands. While one of my friends here was going through treatment for breast cancer she had meals covered for 3-4 months, and people were also helping to keep her 3 boys occupied and to get them to all of their activities.

This is great news! Here's a peck on the cheek for Teena and Bob 'cause a squeeze would be TOO MUCH!

One Teensy Beensy question:

I have a room and ticket package at BC, paid in full, and was thinking about IF we arrive on time and IF we are not too tired, that I may want to add an extra day to our passes.

Can this be done at checkin? And is it a hassle for the CM's? the price difference for 6 - 7 day is so worth it even for a late evening snack / drink / and illuminations night.

Thanks for the update Dee. Teena, get the rest you need. We're all thinking of you and hoping for the best. We'll catch up once you are able. As Dee said, you've got a lot of reading to do.

Absoslutely. Go to the concierge desk and they will be happy to accomodate you. They are quick and efficient. I had a six day pass in my AAA package. They added another 4 days and were able to do it with the AAA discount!!! I picked up an added 4 days and it only cost me $40 (yes, that's total, not per day!). That is money in the bank.

Thanks so much for the quick response!!!

Now to hope we land as scheduled, with Delta you never know!!

Secretly I was hoping that they would change our flight times and bump us up by and hour or two ;)

Hi,

I see on the first page in the SAB info that there are complimentary life vests at the pool. Does anyone know if they have vests for toddlers (2 1/2 years)? We use a zip-front speedo vest for her and if I don't have to pack it, I won't (trying to pack lighter this trip) :)

Thanks!

Does the walking path from BC to Studios go past YC and then across the bridge to BW and then to the right to head to Studios?::cool2::cool2:

Wifi is not available except in the lobby (at least it was there in Oct) otheriwse in your villa you get wired internet , not wifi...and the usual, have to be a DVC member staying on points to get the internet.

To make this a wifi connection you need to bring your own wireless router or tether an iphone 3g connection in any room

Can you get free internet anywhere at Disney or do you have to stay in a DVC unit?

At this time there is intentionally free wifi at the Contemporary as
a test run.
Also when i was there in October and in April of last year free wifi
was had in the Lobby of the beach club. I did it late at night when the
lobby was quiet and had more privacy.

DVC members staying on points get free Internet. DVC members staying on a cash reservation do not and non-members staying on rented points aren't supposed to but sometimes do.

There is no intentionally free WiFi at any WDW property.

May I ask how you know there is free WiFi at the CR as a test-run and do you know for how long? Is this similar to when they had the in-room computers as a test-run? Is the free CR WiFi only in the lobby?
