"We stayed in room 5636. It was at the end of the hall right by the Norton Suite. It was quiet and nice. We could see Boardwalk and some water and some fireworks from our balcony."

Was this considered lagoon or garden view?

Mini report....March 18th-21st stayed at Royal Pacific at Universal so we could do Harry Potter. We had a lot of fun and the kids loved Harry Potter. The crowds were not bad. I do think staying at their hotel was very beneficial. We did eat at Tchoup Chop (yum!!) and Emeril's restaurant on the City walk ( yum but more expensive)

Monday March 22nd moved over to Beach Club CL!!! our room was ready by 8:15 in the morning!!! Bonus. We stopped by the lounge and ate breakfast and headed to Epcot. We ate lunch at the new Mexican quick service ( cheese empanadas (yum) were great. We ate at Flying Fish for dinner.

Tues. Kids did the pirates league package and loved it. Just FYI DD is 17 and DS is 13. They had blast. We rode Space Mountain walk on 3 times with no wait in the morning. It was not too crowded!!!! Did Hoop De Doo and had a great time.

Wed. we went to DHS. Not too crowded. Went to Jiko for dinner. Yum!!!

Thurs went to Ak. My Dd and DH did the AK tour and loved it. Thought it was very interesting and fun. Ate at Coral reef and it was only ok.

Fri we went to MK. Not too crowded. Had Crystal palace mid morning. Just ate in Epcot quick service for dinner.

Sat went to DHS again. All week they had been working on the dock at BC so we could take a bus or walk. This morning we waited for a little while and then asked a CM about where the bus was. They were a few other families waiting too. They had opened the dock that morning but no one knew. I was slightly annoyed they did not call they rooms to let them know. The reason I say this is they had called us earlier in the week about moving cars off the parking lot so they could repave. I thought if they could do that they should call and let us know the dock was back open. This was my only complaint. Went to Biergarten for dinner.

Sun we spent our last day at Epcot. We ate lunch at Via Napoli. Yummy!!

The weather was perfect all week. Sunny and it did not rain!!!! We spent a lot of afternoons at the pool. They did check room cards and give wristbands everyday. We always found seats and we would go around 3:30 ish.

CL was nice. It was busy!!! The CM are very friendly and helpful. If you have any questions just ask them. They gave us beer before it was out one day when I just asked what time it was out. She offered to go get us some and who could pass that up!!:goodvibes They also offered to get people a big bottle of water to take back to their room. They have Evian glass bottles in the lounge instead of little plastic bottles.

We stayed in room 5636. It was at the end of the hall right by the Norton Suite. It was quiet and nice. We could see Boardwalk and some water and some fireworks from our balcony.

Had a really great time and can't wait to go back. If you have any questions please ask!!!
I enjoyed reading your "mini" review. Thanks for posting it.

Do you recall what types of beer were available in the lounge? Was it Sam Adams?

E&B Mom's DH here: We booked a Garden View, so I assume that's what it was.

Sam Adams Seasonal (Noble Pils last week), Yuengling, Red Hook Longhammer IPA (my choice) and Bud Lite that I can remember. I think maybe Heineken and Bud Select or Mich Ultra were there too.

Hi everyone!!
We will be staying at the yacht club in August and I wanted to see if anyone had a specific room number for a ground floor room facing the water/pool/boardwalk? I always like to request a particular room even when it is not guaranteed. Any suggestions or pictures would be great!! Thanks
Kathy

Hi Kathy, this is just general advice, not specific to YC, but....I think you'd have a better chance of getting something you'd like by not requesting a specific room #.
Room assignors won't know why you are requesting a certain room, and if it's not available I think they'd just put you anywhere.

I'd just put in the request as ground floor, facing water, pool, or boardwalk- in order of importance to you. Good luck.

If something is sent by UPS or FedX, it will be delivered to the convention center.

Packages/Mail sent to the Beach Club by the US Post Office will go to the front desk if it is addressed:

Disney's Beach Club Resort (or Disney's Beach Club Villas)
1800 Epcot Resort Boulevard
Lake Buena Vista, Florida 32830
Please give to Guest, (name on reservation)
Check-in date 9/1/10 (for example)

Are you talking about a package you mail, the vacation package sent by Disney containing resort checkin info and vouchers for minigolf, arcade and Planet Hollywood or something else?

Do you live in Canada? I don't know if that would affect how/when you get your Mickey Mail. We usually receive our package via USPS about a month (4 weeks) before our trip. So your timing could be tight.

Yes, the vacation package sent by Disney with resort check in, vouchers, etc.
I do live in Canada, and mail deliv. is slower with things coming from the U.S. So I don't think I'd get it at home.

Too bad Disney won't mail earlier :confused3

I've done this before at POR, and it was at check in waiting for us. but BC may be different? It looks like it will go to Front Desk from your description. Thanks. :thumbsup2

We booked a garden view. You had to lean a little but it was a really nice view!!

Oops didn't see that DH answered.

We had the same room in 2008! It is definitely a garden view room now, even with all the changes. From what I understand it is the only gv cl with a daybed so I'm sure it will be set aside for families of 5.

We did get it with a family of four, however. I did email the CL CMs in advance to request a room with a daybed, so maybe that helped. It even was clean and ready by 8:00 a.m. on our arrival day!

I am so happy to see more and more places carrying Yuengling. It's turning into my "cheap beer of choice"! :) That and PBR, ironically enough...

Just thought I'd warn you all... I posted a link here in my PTR... and said what a great bunch you are ! :goodvibes

Which means you can blame me for the 5 pages it will take you to go through in order to catch up on the thread tomorrow! :lmao:
