However was wondering if I can change my room only booking to a package with DDP even though my discount code ends tomorrow and was a room only code ?
You can change your reservations to any other current promotion is current.

The DDP is considered an "add-on" to a room-only code. You should be able to add that on at any time, still allowing yourself to keep your room discount. Same goes with park tickets if you decide to get them.

I just booked Lagoon View Club Level for June, and am very excited to stay concierge for the first time, and to enjoy all the fantastic amenities of the Beach Club.

I was told that all the Lagoon view CL rooms are on the fourth floor. Are there full and standing balconies in this category as there are in the others? If so, I will add a full balcony request to my reservation.

All the lagoon view club level rooms are on the fifth floor and there are a few (3 I believe) that have standing balconies. There are 26 total rooms. If full balcony is important, definitely add "full balcony requested" to your reservation.

Teena, you are the best! So grateful for your kind attention. Wishing you speedy, easy, fantastically successful medical times this week!

I am a stay at home who just had her first solo getaway at WL in Feb:thumbsup2. I absolutely loved it...peace, serenity and beauty. I am going to BCV in July with my family and am not feeling too excited about it. I don't know why. I think I am having WL withdrawls.

I stayed at the BC in 2003 w/DH prior to kids. This is our first DVC vacation since purchasing in Jan. and we chose BCV to celebrate. I need help from everyone here to convince me I will be happy at BCV and not missing my WL. I loved it before so why I am not feeling excited about this trip (not sure if I will like going in July to be quite honest, but extended family will only go in July). We chose BCV because of stormalong bay with hopes it will keep my boys ages 4 and 6 happy and cool in the heat :).

I keep looking at the pics and know how beautiful it is...I guess I just need some BCV love from faithful fans to help me get excited.

Welcome MMRules. You are not alone in your love of the WL. One of our family members here goes by LovintheLodge! I love the music. Love the atmosphere. WL is also one of my favorites.

But with Y&BC it is about location-where else can you walk 5 minutes and be in a park. You have access to 50+ restaurants within walking distance. You have the Boardwalk. You have HS. You have Epcot. You have Swan and Dolphin........The Villas also have great sitting areas to in their 'lobby'. The Drawing room and Breezeway offer great places to sit and relax. There is also the Solarium over at the BC proper.

Then it is about the pool. With 4 & 6 year olds, if they like playing in the water at all, you will be in resort heaven. The sheer size of SAB can be kind of intimidating so if you will look at the maps on the first page of this thread and take yourself a little tour when you first arrive to familiarize yourself you will feel more comfortable. And since you are doing BCV you will also have the quiet pool (Dunes Cove pool) right outside your door! Also great kids activities inside the resort and poolside.

We (meaning my wife!) fell in love with the BC the first time we stayed there. So when we decided to go DVC she would hear of nothing but BCV. We have only stayed at the Villas once but we have 3 trips there already booked.

We also have one thing no other resort has....Teena. Don't know if your trip will coincide with her working but please go introduce yourself. If not then at least go back through this thread and read her wonderful advice.

Lastly you may get lucky and you probably already know this but it can get hot and crowded in July. Take your breaks and enjoy the resort!

I am seeing something interesting when looking at room pictures of Beach Club rooms. In some of the pictures I am seeing more updated, nicer furnishings with flat screen tvs and in some other pics, especially of the Villas, I am seeing, lets see how can I say put this, a more 1980s Jersey Shore beach motel look.

What gives? I am very close to booking a 2br BCV and am wondering what I could expect.

The villas are a DVC resort. The Beach Club rooms are a Disney resort. They don't offer the same decor or the same rehab schedule.

The photos of the villas are current and you will get what you see. Also the views are not as good as the villas were built in the parking lot of the Beach Club resort.

So if anyone in the next month or so happens to be using the package delivery at the YC Convention Center, can you report back to us any information about the hours of operation?

I picked up a package there on 03/20/11. The sign said the office was open from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM. I asked the guy there what happens if you arrive after 7:00 PM. He said you're out of luck until the next day.

As for the fee, he said it is based on the weight of the package:
0-4 pounds: $3
5-20 pounds: $5
21-70 pounds: $10
over 70 pounds: $0.70 per pound

I was staying at the Beach Club. It was a REALLY long walk from the convention center back to the Beach Club lobby. At least it felt that way with my 10-pound box. I can't comment on the walk from the convention center to the Yacht Club lobby.

Whew, I'm all caught up (for now!)

This thread is amazing - so much info about the resorts and such a sense of community too.

I'm so hoping we can stay at YC CL next March. We actually already have the money saved for it, but both my husband and I are unemployed right now. As long as I get a job before we have to start using our savings to live day to day, I'm booking our trip. I have a couple of companies that I am interviewing with, so keep your fingers crossed.

All the best to everyone going through challenges right now, and all the best to those at the resort right now.

Solo stay at WL sounds wonderful. :cloud9:

We are true WL lovers. We have stayed there twice and love it so much. On our last trip we stayed at CR and we did not feel the same sense of comfort as we did at WL.

We have never stayed at BC or YC before, but I can tell you that as soon as we arrived for a dining reservation on our last trip we knew instantly that it had the same sense of home as WL. I think you have made a great choice and will love the atmosphere at the BC.

We leave on Monday around 9 AM for pre-op testing at Mayo in the afternoon and then surgery is scheduled for Tuesday morning. We'll come home Wednesday.

TeenaS - I'll be thinking of you. You were super nice to me when I was cranky upon arrival at the Beach Club last weekend. (Apparently I'm not a happy camper when I have to leave the house at 4:00 AM to catch the only non-stop flight to Orlando).

And FYI, my room was ready pretty quickly, it was in a great location, and I had a wonderful vacation. I love BCV.

Thank-you :flower3:

Could you tell me where the pick a pearl stand is at BC?

My daughter's hair right now is just about shoulder length so I'm hoping it won't be that expensive, yikes!

My DD9 has shoulder length hair. She got a wrap behind her ear and it ended up being close to $40.00. I think its $8.00 an inch plus beads.

On the upside, she kept it in from July to about February!!! She had no problem washing her hair with it in.

Last summer the stand was near the water slide area on the beach.

Hope this helps.:thumbsup2

Don't take a taxi to the MK!!!!!!! A cab will only bring you to the TTC- you then need to either get onto the monorail or the ferry boat to the MK. The buses take you right to the MK entrance.

If you feel like you need to take a cab, you can take a cab to the Contemporary and walk, but really, I think you will be fine with a bus if you are out early enough.

Just bolded this info on the front page...

Is there any benefit to driving to MK instead of taking the bus? (Sorry, should have read more before posting)

Is there a benefit to drive to Animal Kingdom instead of taking the bus?

As Teena explained, the bus is preferable to a car or taxi cab to the MK. Buses take you directly to the MK entrance gates. With a car or taxi, you must go to the TTC and then either take the express monorail or ferry boat to the MK entrance.

AK- I guess the benefit of taking your car is that you won't have a wait for the bus on the way there, or the way home. It probably gives you more flexibility if you are going somewhere after AK.

Does anyone know about the opening times of the parking lot at AK? I have read over on the Theme Park boards that the parking lots open late, which can be a problem for early morning reservations to Tusker House. But never personally experience it.

We don't like to drive while on vacation, so we use Disney transportation (and an occasional cab if we are going resort to resort or Typhoon Lagoon).

The absolute best way to get to MK is by bus PERIOD!!! That being said, we drive and park everywhere else. However, if I were staying at a Disney resort, I would use the bus for everything. Although it is convenient and easy to park at all the parks (EXCEPT MAGIC KINGDOM), I hate parking, walking to the tram stop, waiting for the tram to come and then sitting on the tram while waiting for it to fill up. Then coming home, I hate getting into a car that is so hot, it burns the bottom of my legs. Give me the air conditioned bus any day.\

And I have waited at the parking lot entrance for it to open when I have had an early morning reservation for the character breakfast. In fact, it opened so late, we missed our time and I had to argue that it was the parking lot's fault, not mine, that we were late. Had them actually call the parking lot people to verify it did not open until after the time of our reservation. Another reason to take the bus!

Thank you Mike!!

I feel better now:thumbsup2. I think I was just having WL withdrawls and living in MA, the weather hasn't gotten above 30, so it is just making me more sad about being home!

The BC was heavenly when I was there in 2003 (kid free) so it will be even better this time I am sure. My boys love playing in the water so I think SAB will be a great activity for them. I booked the the Adventure cruise and we have some wonderful reservations at the hotel and Epcot already booked.

I am starting to feel excited again about the BC. I knew fellow dis'ers would help! Now I just got to get through a few more months and I will be there:woohoo:

Janet,

Solo to WL was wonderful and I would highly recommend it!!! I have been yelling a lot less and have found my patience since returning home :rotfl:. It was just what I needed for some mental health time!

I know I will have a great time as will my family. My boys will love SAB for swimming (they probably won't want to leave:)).

Thanks for reminding me why I chose BCV in the first place...you forget why you fall in love with a resort sometimes and just need a friendly reminder.
Besides WL isn't going anywhere...I am going to try for WL next summer with the family!

Tracy

Erika, I'm enjoying your live report. Have a wonderful time. :cool1:

Amanda and Robyn, I hope the good news continues for your mothers. :grouphug:

Teena, have a safe trip tomorrow and I hope Tuesday goes very, very well. Hopefully this will be a dim memory soon.
