2011 Beach & Yacht Club FAQ

My family loves the 10 minute walk to Hollywood Studios. It gives our two kids time to burn off energy.

Unfortunately things are NOT going great for my Mom. She was doing better and was in a rehab hospital but started running fevers, swelling of the legs, chill and she needs blood again. She was rushed back to the regular hospital on Friday.

Thank you all for keeping us in your prayers too.

I just said to DH - I really need to be back in my happy place.

Here's a funny story. Dh is usually much more frugal (can you say cheap?) than I am. I was telling him last week that since his parents are coming with us the first week we could have saved over $900 it we stayed AKL CL instead of BC CL. It only sleeps 4 so we could only do it for the first week of our vacation. DH said he would rather spend the extra money and stay at BC CL the whole time. I said who are you and what have you done with my husband?

Robyn - prayers for your mom and your family at this difficult time.

Oh your DH has such good taste, nothing like the BC / YC. Although, AKL is nice also.

Teena - glad to see you on here! Take care, rest and hoping for those good results for you.

ADRs - to those waiting, go ahead and make them, you can always change, but make them now to assure yourself a sit down meal if that is in your plan. We enjoy the restaurants, especially in busy, warmer season. Such a good break from the parks and with a DH and 2 teenage boys, they do love to eat!

We decided to walk from Epcot to HS in late July. A long, hot, miserable choice. lol

Still waiting to see if a room discount is made available for late July/early August. Keeping our fingers crossed or I will book with the free dining pin before it expires.

Nice and warm here. About 60 today! Cherry blossoms are just starting to come out, as are the crowds! Make sure that you make dinner reservations if you need them. I am the worlds (self-proclaimed) authority on all things eating here in my city. If you need a recommendation, let me know!

Yay- 60 degrees sounds wonderful! Actually, I say "D.C." loosely as I'm from Fairfax, my parents still live in NoVa and we aren't crossing the Potomac for this trip. We've planned two dinners in Williamsburg, one at an old (but kid-friendly) Alexandria favorite and one on-the-go. I used to have a long list of favorite restaurants in and out of the District, but my list narrowed considerably with kids! Always looking for new places!

Hi - just found this fabulous thread and have subscribed. We are staying at the BC from 10 sept to 15 sept after a Disney Med cruise and an extra week in Italy. Thank you to all those great people who have posted such useful information.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who does that! We live in Fairfax, and if anyone asks us where we live who isn't in the Mid Atlantic, I say DC. My husband and I love Willow in Ballston (we had our rehearsal dinner there). They typically do sustainable, seasonal dishes. Also, Restaurant Eve in Old Town, though they are a bit pricey. Not much out towards FFX and the like, that's pretty much chain restaurant land. Which is always a bummer for me. We do like Passion Fish and Mon Ami Gabi in Reston Town Center, I'm not sure if PF is a chain or not, but they are delish.

I hope you are going tobe here this weekend, the weather is supposed to be amazing!

Just stayed at the YC last week...loved the beds! I picked up the brochure in the room 'Disney Resort Collection' that showcases the beds, bedding etc...but there are 3 categories of beds? All Sealy ' Celestial Plush/Encore Plush/Encore Pillowtop. Anyone have any idea what one they have in the rooms?

I should have looked.

You know, I've never tried Eamons! I'm a sucker for good fish and chips, though!

We are really looking forward to our return visit to the BC in June as well! We'll start off at CR then move over to the BC.

Teena, you mentioned construction/painting continuing for a while. How long do you suspect it will last?

Teena, on a personal note, I think I read here that you recently saw drs at the Mayo Clinic? We live in AZ and my DH recently switched to drs at our Scottsdale Mayo Clinic and I will be doing so in April as well -- we are both extremely impressed! Thankfully, nothing is wrong at this time, but we are establishing with them for the long term, and I know we will be in good hands in case anything arises. I hope all will be well with you SOON!!

Cannot wait until June!! Wooohooo!!!

Sorry, I don't know how much longer the work outside will be going on. However, it only happens between 9 AM and 5 PM.

I love the doctors at Mayo here in Jacksonville. The whole place is amazing. I'm doing good today but am anxious to get the pathology results to see if the margins are clear or not (and whether they need to go back to take out more). Should get the call today or tomorrow.
