Welcome back!

So are your BC dates July 2-July 6?

YES - BC is July 2 - July 6
This thread is amazing - I am determined to get caught up this evening :-)

We went to Victoria's and Albert's for our anniversary dinner and it was amazing and romantic and extremly pampering. I would suggest it if you have never been. If you guys are foodies you can request the chefs table, they seat you in the kitchen privAte dinning room and the chef explains everything to you.

I have some pictures somewhere if you need to see some...just let me know

Pictures would be awesome !! thanks!!

pm me if you'd like

Thank you all for your comments about my "minnie" review. I've found this thread refreshing in the friendliness and helpfulness of so many - it's feels like a safe place to post real thoughts, comments, and questions :grouphug:

As for DTD - the YC is not alone in the bus service issue. We never take the bus and the frustrating part is that I had a rental car but figured it wasn't worth the trip back across the water to get it...

We loved the YC so much that we've booked a return trip this August for my DS's birthday :cool1::cool1::cool1:

We are getting real close to the trip and I can't explain why, but I feel a tinge of sadness instead of utter excitement:confused3. Can't figure it out! I am the ultimate planner and I don't know if I am sad because that part is over. I am sure when this time next week roles around, I will be ecstatic but right now I feel a little melancholy. We even had snow yesterday and thought that would push into excitement, but nothing.:confused3

Kinda had the same feeling after our wedding 18years ago - I loved the planning and hated for that to be done! Guess I am a strange bird!

Anyone else ever feel this way?

Thanks guys we truly did have a fabulous time :goodvibes

Other info......

BC Marketplace was terrible for those with allergies. The CM was quite rude and we left and did not return. This happened last visit as well... Hurricane Hannah's wan't much better though at the least the CM was very nice about it!

Overall it was just a fabulous time filled w/ memories I will treasure forever:goodvibes

Thanks for the Minnie report, especially the info. about buses and allergies. I will have to re-think my DTD plan.

As for the allergies, can you be more specific about Hurricane Hanna's? I was hoping to take my little ones - one with a life-threatening food allergy there so that they could get the buckets for SAB. But, now I am really nervous. Did they not seem to know much about the allergies, or did they not have much available for your specific allergy? Anyone else have issues with Hurricane Hanna's and food allergies. Any additional info. would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

I feel that way, too! We leave on May 18th and everything's done except the last minute things and packing! I'm so excited, but a little sad that there are no ADRs left to make, no days left to plan...

Of course, Disney could do something crazy like extend park hours, and we could start all over again! ;)

Before I get specific I have to ask? Have you checked out the disability board? As much as I recommend this wonderful group for the Epcot area I recommend the group on that board for making my trips to WDW safe and enjoyable. They can direct you to people that can really help. I do not have life threatening allergies so I do not want to misdirect you in the slightest. My allergies make me terribly sick and can ruin a vacation but that's it.

WDW is the best place for those with food allergies. I ate more than I have in weeks those couple of days because I felt so safe :cloud9:

My issue with HH was the lack of available food that I could eat - my only option was french fries and a Diet Coke. They no longer have the allergy free brand chicken tenders which are on the gluten free list from special diets.

My best recommendation for HH specifically is to contact special diets - see the disability board for contact info. When you step up to the counter and let them know you have food allergies they will call a Chef :thumbsup2

For the YC specifically I had great service from both the Yacht Club Grill and the YC lounge (name escapes me at the moment). I've also heard that Cape May (sp) buffet is great for allergies. Oh and don't forget about Beaches 'n Creme - yum and they also call a Chef for the YC/BC kitchens. Just across the water you have other options as well - especially Kouzzina by Cat Corra - Chef Dee was just awesome for breakfast!!!! Then you have the short walk to the Epcot restaurants.

I wish you a magical and safe vacation :wizard::wizard::wizard::wizard:

First time on forums.

It's been 5 years since we have been to WDW and we are finally scheduling our trip.

We will be staying at the BC on Dec 12-16, 2011.

We brought our 2 daughters last time (2006) and stayed at POP. The trip was great, but the beds KILLED my back, which made my trip somewhat uncomfortable at times. But since I have been reading this forum, i notice great things said about the beds at BC, so that's a plus...lol.

Attending this trip, will be me, my beautiful wife of 16 years, my 2 daughters (10 and 12). My mother (60) will be coming with us as well. She has lived with us since August of last year, when my dad passed away from Hodgkins Lymphoma cancer. They were married for 41 years. This has been a hard past 7 months for her. She has NEVER been to Disney before. I hope that she is able to have a wonderful time, along with our girls.

We are driving in from TX so we will certainly be ready to kick off our shoes and have a relaxing 5 days at the BEACH CLUB.:woohoo:

If any of you have any suggestions or helpful information that may be of use to us, please feel free and share. I consider myself quite ignorant when it comes to all the "inside" info. Thus the reason i am researching these forums.:confused3

Have a blessed day! :thumbsup2
Welcome:cheer2:
I'm about to bust! I've just got a feeling that I'm gonna  the Beach Club. It just seems to fit .... :beach:

How will I ever make it?

...and I may get to meet Teena on Sunday if I'm lucky!!! :thumbsup2

You are so lucky have a great time!!!

I have, but not so much with Disney anymore - but with more exotic/adventurous plans. I suspect that I am hiding a bit of anxiety, as I feel responsible for it all going well and that I don't want to get too excited and be let down if it doesn't go perfectly. Plus, to plan & pack for a disney vacation can be like training for a marathon - I sort of wear out once all the planning is done and the only thing left to do is go.
For my job I sometimes do high energy stressful deadline driven stuff which keeps me going until it's done and then, when I'm done, I feel like a deflated balloon, it's sort of the same feeling.

In answer to the pool question and wristbands, then yes. Once you have the wristband on, you can come and go as you want, with no room key. When you first get your wristband, you need the room keys for everyone. I have also seen loads of peeps with no writstbands on, late in the afternoon!

I don't know the answer to the other question, but someone will be along who does.

Good morning Y&B clubbers :goodvibes
