OK folks, now that MM has clocked back in, she has given me the tag and I will be off for a few days. My hubby and I are headed to Puerto Rico (WITHOUT THE KIDDOS) to celebrate our 25th anniversary, which was last July. This is the first time we have been away together alone since the kids were born and we are UBER-EXCITED!

Happy Anniversary! Enjoy your trip!

I'm off in the am for BCV!!!!!!!!!!!!

Have a great time!

Do you have mugs from past trips that you could bring?

Please note that I am NOT endorsing that you use this mug to refill in the Marketplace, but there is nothing stopping you from bringing one from home into the parks.

We actually don't have any mugs at home right now (a bit shocking). I think the last ones we had fell victim to a burst of cupboard cleaning.

I think our biggest problem in the parks is that we don't like to carry anything.

I usually carry the most minimal of purses, mostly to hold my sunglasses and camera, and the boys give me grief for that when they have to wait for me on the other side of the bag check line. :sad2:

We could go for the caribiner fashion statement that MM endorses, but I'm not sure we would even do that.

I hope you have a great time on your trip! Sounds wonderful. Our 25th is coming up in 2013, but I'm not sure how we will mark it.

In case we don't cross paths before our upcoming stay at the YC, is there any photo/info missions you need me to take on?

What are your thoughts about getting refillable mugs when you are staying CL? I think the "bring a container or chug the remainder" has pushed me over the edge!

My husband and I have spent way too much time debating the refillable mug question, since we are staying CL.

I don't think we will get them since I can come up with enough opportunities to use them. When we are at the resort and returning to the resort we will just get drinks from the lounge.

When we are at SAB the cups would be handy, but I'm guessing my husband and I will be more likely to consume non-mug eligible drinks by the pool. ;) In March we aren't likely to sit by the pool for hours on end, so if my son gets thirsty he will be happy to just leave the pool area and go back to the room and lounge.

So that means we would be buying the mugs largely to carry drinks around the park.

So many things to obsess about leading up to the trip. The good news is that none of this will matter once we are at WDW, at which point will will totally relax and go with the flow. :)

Out of curiosity... is it frowned upon to bring beers in the refillable mugs down to the pool? I guess no one would know... and we always buy drinks at the pool bars but it's also nice to bring some of our own stash too.

Here's a suggestion for traveling light in the parks and avoiding the dreaded bag checks.

First, I have to admit that I am a reformed pack mule. The boy scouts had nothin' on me. I was prepared!

Then I discovered the beauty of the drawstring bag

Say you have a mug that you want to bring to the parks but don't want to carry. The drawstring bag is perfect for this! When you enter the park, hold the folded bag in one hand, the mug in another hand and your camera, if it is a small point and shoot, in your other hand. Well, maybe someone else needs to give you a hand. Wear the sunglasses. Then, once you are in, the mug goes in the bag, the bag goes on your back and you also have a place to put small souvenirs that you pick up along the way.

I ordered my bag from Mickeystoontown on these boards (she writes hilarious trip reports) and she makes a bunch of Disney-themed items.

Hi all - we will be returning to BC this summer over July 4th and we are so excited! We would love to host the noodle family while there! Our dates are 6/29-7/8. We will not get in until late on June 29th so we would be ready to coordinate noodle handoff on the 30th if that works out :goodvibes and we will fly out the morning of 7/8.
It is myself, DH, and our triplets who will be one week past their 9th birthday then! Hope everyone else has great trips and we cannot wait to hear the BC staff say "Welcome Home"!

My family would like to host the Noodle Family too!

We will be at the Villas Sept 22 - Sept 29th. This will be our first stay at Beach Club and I am SO EXCITED. In early February DH and I had an adults only stay in a BWV studio.....one afternoon we visited the Beach Club and Villas and I fell in love!:lovestruc
We have a 2BR with 2 Queens reserved for our party of 7: me, DH, DS14, DS11, DS11, my girlfriend, and her DD11. We plan to spend some time every afternoon at SAB.:woohoo:

Welcome back, to reality :sad1:

Very good suggestion!

There truly is no limit to the amount of useful information you have to share.

Well... some of us middle aged women have been known to use, ahem, our cleavage as a temporary mug holder. You'll have to take a good look at yourself and decide if that method or the carabiner clip will work best for you. Of course one of the over looked advantages of the cleavage method is that it keeps you that much cooler and, with the simple addition of a straw, drinking is that much easier....

Out of curiosity... is it frowned upon to bring beers in the refillable mugs down to the pool? I guess no one would know... and we always buy drinks at the pool bars but it's also nice to bring some of our own stash too.

I can't see why, if you were in the process of finishing your refillable mug filled with home brew or what ever, and you were on your way to the pool, that anybody would demand that you 'drink the remainder and drop the container'.

Not that I have radar or anything when it comes to finding yummy adult beverages....:rolleyes1

When you come over the bridge into France from the International Gateway, curve to your left. There is a kiosk (just past the caricature painters) that sells the slushies, sparkling vodka (who knew), wine, and beer. It's directly opposite Chefs de France.

Perfect! We are having dinner at Le Chefs de France Wednesday night so I know where I'll stop afterwards! Thanks! :rotfl:

Hey everyone! Thanks for the nice sendoff! I really appreciate it.

Your comment brought back a memory that makes me smile. On our one day trip to the MK last summer, my husband went to the locker we had rented at the train station to put something away. I think this was around 11 am. He came back and told me

"You can't go to the front of the park!"

"Why not?"

"There are people there who need you. You can't help them all"

Only 200 days until our Fantastical Family Vacation, which means that in 20 days I can make our ADRs :banana::banana:

Bumping up your question.

I do have a room question. Does anyone know if there is a mirror in the bathroom other than the large mirror? You know, one of those wall mounted make-up type mirrors? And if so, can it be moved so as to allow you to check the back of your head? Sounds like a stupid question, but I have very short hair that occassionally likes to sticks up in the back if I don't dry it just right and I'm wanting to know if I need to bring my mirror from home.

Dee:
Have a super vacation. Get lots of sun and relaxing!! We'll miss you.
Hugs,
Teena

I will add you both to the Be Our Guest and Noodle lists. I was surprised to see the noodles were still free for those dates, but it looks like you are all set.

And I believe the original family of noodles has been joined by some cousins, so hopefully there will be enough to go around.

Bumping up your question.

I'm at BC now. There is a small mirror that can be posed next to the sinks. It is attached to the wall and can be used to check the back of your hair. I always use a mirror to check my hair like that, too.

We are having a great time! A small storm postponed this morning's fishing excursion, but we are going this afternoon. We enjoyed the campfire and movie on the beach last night. Today is DH's birthday, so we will be celebrating all day!

The wi-fi here is not very good so I haven't posted to tell everyone hi like I had meant to. And I hate typing too much on my phone. :)

:rotfl2::rotfl2:Happy Anniversary and have a lovely trip:) Oh and many many thanks to you for helping us all on here:worship:

Woo-Hoo- March movie schedule is out!!! I was afraid it wouldn't be posted before I left:

Disney's Yacht & Beach Club Movie Schedule
By the Beach ~ 8:00PM

Sundays - Ratatouille
Mondays - Phineas & Ferb Across the 2nd Dimension
Tuesdays - Meet the Robinsons
Wednesdays - Tangled
Thursdays - The Emperor's New Groove
Fridays - The Princess and the Frog
Saturdays - Lady and the Tramp

Please note that the time says 8 PM. I'm not sure if this is all month or after the clocks are reset next Sunday, so if you are going this week, just be sure to check the time before you make your plans.

We will be there in 12 days and let me tell you, not loving the extended forecast at this point, but I know it's too early to panic.

Now you're making ME panic.

Where are you seeing an extended forecast?
