Oh man.....Bon Jovi!!! That was one GREAT concert:thumbsup2

Gotta love the tall socks that we used to crunch down our ankels.

1986 you say??? Hmmm, I was entering in my senior year. Those were the good ole days.

P.S. Is he wearing a Members Only Jacket????

HAHAHAHA I was waiting for someone to see that - AND white shoes...my dad was SO BEACH CLUB back then!!

I see that pic of my dad & all I can think of is Randy Quaid from Christmas Vacation....

Is there anywhere that shows the views for Standard View Club Level? I'm guessing I'm just overlooking it. :D

Actually Dee had one of these rooms that face the front of the resort and at night if you look out past the roof and over the trees you can see the fireworks from Magic Kingdom.

Let's face it.... how much are you really going to be in the room staring out at the view?

Like Teena said in a previous post, the standard view rooms will be facing rooftops or a parking lot- a lot of the SV rooms will be looking out towards the bus stop/front entrance/parking lot at the front of the BC.

I have a post (#1256 on page 84 of this thread) that describes room 5670, where we were able to see some of Illumniations and we had a really nice view of the MK fireworks. There are pictures on the post that show some samples of the view from that room.

Ok we're pretty far off the beaten path of the topic here and really into a chit chat conversation thread.. those can be had over on the Community Board..

Let's bring this one back around to the same neighborhood at least ... of the topic of the resorts at hand.

Thanks,

Knox

All I can say is wow and WOW! Kind of like to smile in the morning. Thanks MM. TaraPa, Kelleigh1 and Ocalla anyway. Guess the moderator gods have ruled.

Sorry Canadian Guy.....We thought someone with "Me and My Posse doing our New Kids on the Block moves at PI' in their signature would like the new Beach Club resort wear. :confused3

Now back to regularly scheduled program.........

I have to say that I'm surprised and disappointed that we would get reprimanded for talking about resort wear. It's not really "far off the beaten path" even if it is obvious that it was a joke and we're not really advising people on what to wear.

Guess I'll really have to work on making up some questions to ask about the resort only so I can do my part to at least keep this thread alive and making sure it stays on the topic and only on the topic.

So, to make sure I'm on topic: we are going in October. With regards to the movies on the beach, what time do they usually start? Should we get there early? Did I see something about a campfire / marshmallow roast? Is that part of the whole "movies on the beach" package?

It was my Swatch watch, my Jams shorts, the yellow high top Reeboks, the feather clipped on my purse, dare I say....the Members Only jacket...I'm so sorry....I see why some were offended. It will not happen again!

I do have a resort specific question....I got the welcome email from IPO awhile ago, I have no requests or ADRS for them to assist me with - but I do have a question for them - how far out should I email them?

And by the way, I was having a very stressful evening last night, your pictures gave me a very much needed chuckle!

 I can't believe I got in trouble on the Dis!!!

I'll try to behave from now on. All this time I thought our little thread was the most well behaved (have you seen some of the other threads !!!) and definitely the most fun.

Here is my "Resort Specific" question ----- how many of you have done the Character Breakfast at BC??? do you prefer this one to any of the others that are offered in RESORTS?

I am trying to decide if I should schedule one for our last day or If we should try and find a really good breakfast since it will be a non park day.

Any suggestions?

Our family really enjoyed the character breakfast here. It was the most relaxing character meal we've ever been to with great character interaction. It's not as noisy as many others, like Crystal Palace, and the characters spent more time at our table than at any other character meal we visited. The food was pretty good too.

I'm not speaking from experience, but this is what we have planned for our departure day - breakfast at Cape May. Since we won't have park tickets for that day, we thought it would be a nice way to end the trip since we'd still get to see the characters.

Cape May Buffet breakfast is my favorite character breakfast.

We always do that one and Crystal Palace (sentimental favorite - it was our first ever character meal).

Here's the funny thing. Even though CMB will be closed in July somehow the reservation system let me make an ADR for July 20! I'm just waiting for a disney dining email or phone call to tell me what I already know!

We were never in the room at the right time to see if we could see the MK fireworks. It really wasn't as terrible as I was thinking it would be.

That being said, this was our GV view from YC CL

A MUCH better view :cloud9: And one of the only trips that we have gone out of our way to sit on the balcony, alot.

I am still wondering if anyone knows what the other YC CL GV views are besides the wedding gazebo :flower3:

Unfortunately, I don't have a schedule from October (maybe you can help me with that this year).

In Sept 2011, campfire was at 7:30 and movie was at 8:30
In Nov 2011, campfire was at 5:30 and movie was at 7:00

I have never been, so I don't know if you need to get there early, but I don't think you do. They used to have ingredients for smores, but I believe the policy is BYOM (bring your own marshmallows) now. Anyone know if the sticks are provided?

We did the CMB in 2008- loved it! Great character interaction. They are so cute in their beachwear. At that time our fave characters Chip and Dale were there, but they are no longer at the breakfast.

We had this scheduled for our last morning in July 2010 but stupid AirTrashcan changed our flight from a direct 3 hour afternoon flight to an 11 am flight with a layover in Atlanta arriving home at 5 PM (the same time our original flight was supposed to get back to Boston) so we had to cancel our breakfast in order to get the Magical Depress at 8 AM.

Another nearby option is Kouzzina at the Boardwalk. I have heard great things about breakfast there, but I have never been myself.

Thanks for posting your views. Do you remember/mind sharing the room number? I agree, the view was not too bad.

Sorry, I don't have an answer about the YC CL GV rooms.

Oooh, I forgot about Kouzzina. never eaten there, but I remember someone here saying how good breakfast was. That would be a convenient boat ride/walk over.

then maybe we could head over to Downtown Disney!! Our flight out is not until 8:10 that night, so we could spend the whole day there.

DD mentioned 1900 Park Fare, but we haven't been there since 1996!!! I'm sure things have changed since then!

We ate at Cape May last September and really enjoyed it. I felt it was more laid back than some of the other character meals (like Chef Mickey for example) and we got better/less rushed character interaction because of it. Donald even sat down at the next table and started reading the paper (so cute!), whereas at CM it was very much quick picture and go. There was a decent selection at the buffet, and I loved the bread pudding they served.

Kouzzina was a nice breakfast too, they have some unique breakfast dishes and the two we tried were good. Service was slow, but if you're not in any hurry that shouldn't be a problem.

Starting on Feb. 12, Stormalong Bay will change its operating hours to 10 a.m.-10 p.m. Disney’s BoardWalk Resort’s Luna Park Pool will keep their current operating hours for lifeguard on duty and slide operation, which are 10 a.m.-7 p.m.
