Hi everyone. I am finally getting into full vacation planning mode so I have been scanning this wonderful thread so full of great information.

I am wondering if you can request a microwave in the room. I will be staying in a regular gardenview room at BC (not CL). I know when I stayed at GF a couple years ago we were able to request one, but I wasn't sure if they were available at BC.

I'm sure this information is probably somewhere in this thread, but I couldn't find it.

Thanks :)

Yep you can request one at check-in.

This board is a lot like when you go over to your family's house for the holidays and meet up with all the relatives. The polite ones, sitting at the table, talking quietly and enjoying the sensible snacks are the Yacht Club People. The nut cases screaming at the game on TV and eating waaay to many potato chips are the Beach Club people. Those poor Yacht Club people can barely get a word in edgewise but us Beach Club people love 'em anyway!

Oh crap, we are staying at the Yacht Club. While I might think of us as being outwardly polished enough to fit in at the Yacht Club the reality is that I have a gutter mouth and my family loves our chips. We will just have to head over to the Beach Club to meet Teena and pretend that is where we are really staying.

Here is a link to some pictures in a trip report (Boo to Two! by missyrose). Like Mike said, I believe the castle still turns colors for most of the evening, and the photo projections are a very small part of the pre-Wishes show:

Thanks everyone for your opinions about the Castle projection show, and thanks Dee for that TR link. The pictures are great and I'm sure I'll enjoy the show.

None of the six deluxe rooms are on the fifth floor. However, to me the walk to the elevators to get to the lounge on the fifth floor is not bad and the extra room you get in the deluxe rooms is well worth it if you have a large family.

I think it depends on the age of the kids too. I loved being able to send DD10 - 12 solo to the lounge without worry when it is on the same floor as me.

I plan to scout out the 6 Deluxe CL rooms on my 1st March trip while at BCV. I may even email IPO & see if there's any way I can see any of them if they're not occupied on that 1st trip, then possibly make a room request for the 2nd trip (BC Deluxe CL). I know with 6 rooms there's little chance of getting any room request, but I guess it wouldn't hurt to ask!

I love the fact that the 4 by the quiet pool are by the laundry room. DH will be in Orlando for work starting the 13th - straight through the 27th (yes, someone from our famiy will be in Orlando for 20 out of the 31 days in March!) - so I will have to do some wash for him when we transfer over from The Dolphin. BUT the 2 that are above Cape May are more centrally located to SAB and the CL on the 5th floor, so that may be more appealing to me once I see the location.

All the six rooms are about the same distance to the elevators that take you to the fifth floor. I think the ones above Cape May are a tad shorter distance to the elevators but not by much. The second set of elevators are near the four deluxe rooms above the quiet pool and can be used to get down to the first floor and out to the quiet pool. However, you cannot use those elevators to get to the fifth floor. The fifth floor doesn't exist there.

Hi Teena, thanks for responding! I suppose it's better than the view from my house. :goodvibes

Actually Dee had one of these rooms that face the front of the resort and at night if you look out past the roof and over the trees you can see the fireworks from Magic Kingdom.

Let's face it.... how much are you really going to be in the room staring out at the view?

Great info to know Teena, thanks a bunch!

If this is the case (and we all know it is :p ) I think you should consider a disguise when floating around the Yacht Club side of the resort. Perhaps a sensible madras skirt paired with a laCoste shirt (they are making a COMEBACK!) and some orthopedic espadrilles will do nicely. Don't forget to carry a matching Dooney & Bourke bag to keep your healthy snacks in!

When you are trolling the Beach Club area of the resort it will be safe for you to go back to wearing your 1980's big hair and parachute pants that are bedazzled with Duran Duran lyrics. You will not be noticeable at all in this 'get up' over there.

Tell kelleigh1 she better start planning her outfit. All those Patriot jerseys are a dead give away over at the Yacht Club....

I was thinking this for our dinner at Cape May:
1980s-fashion-skirts.jpg

And I'm packing both of these outfits for my husband.

These should get me through most of the week.

And these should work for the YC

Boy I wish I still had my parachute pants!!!!

DD could use them for 80's dress up days school. (I can't believe they consider the 80's "way back"....hmph, that was just what 5, 8, 20 something years ago)

As for Duran Duran, I was totally in LOVE with them  who am I kidding, I still crank the radio when they play them.

Geez Kelleigh1, those Beach club outfits are way too conservative! You need to let your hair down... oops, I mean up and go for something like THIS!

And perhaps this for your big daddy:

Show a little hair product and some metal wear for God's sake! this is The Beach Club we are talkin about!

My hair could easily look like that...and I'm pretty sure it does on some mornings.

LOVE ME some Duran Duran!

OK I had to go look..had to dig out my 1986 Disney family trip pics...

Ok how many 80's things can you ID from these pictures (and actually I did have big hair back then, I think it must have rained on my hair or it was really humid out!):

:worship::worship: Thank you, thank you Marlton Mom and Kelleigh1. I'm so happy to have your advice and fashion counsel. I'll be sure to fit in now.

I'm off to get my perm and tie-tye on! I'll leave the loafers and plaid for my husband.

It's a public service we provide as a courtesy to ALL Beach Club guests. (The line forms to the left BTW)
