This board is a lot like when you go over to your family's house for the holidays and meet up with all the relatives. The polite ones, sitting at the table, talking quietly and enjoying the sensible snacks are the Yacht Club People. The nut cases screaming at the game on TV and eating waaay to many potato chips are the Beach Club people. Those poor Yacht Club people can barely get a word in edgewise but us Beach Club people love 'em anyway!

You apparently didn't hear me on Sunday screaming at the TV. (And eating way too many chips w/buffalo dip.) :lmao: If that's the criteria, I might be staying in the wrong place, or I'm going to rock the Yacht Club off its foundation.

The good news and more important thing is that I had a terrific scan on Monday. I am on a new medicine that works well for about 70% of people with a particular genetic mutation causing their cancer (I've got the mutation). It is working well - currently no evidence of cancer.

Well you will fit in great here! A bunch of us are falling apart or missing parts as well... Congratulations on your progress! :grouphug:

You are just going to love the pool, never mind the kids loving it... Keep hitting us up with your questions and concerns and we will do our best to put your mind at ease. There are many of us here on the boards that can contribute nuggets of wisdom regarding our own unique experiences, so chances are there is somebody who has 'been there, done that' and can offer advice for many different situations.

Take care

In the scheme of things, this is a lot smaller than cancer. And, I had great scans on Monday. I can't even believe that I stressed over a pool slide, and now over a view. But, I really do want this trip to be special and create lots of good memories.

In my case I switched from Poly because of the pool slide being closed with fairly little notice (i have teens - they want a slide). This was a bit of a bucket list trip of sorts - I have been battling an advanced lung cancer (not a smoker) since last June. I'd written some notes to the guest relations for WDW explaining the situation and the need for this trip to be "magical." They had called me and assigned an agent that I am specifically in contact with. She was able to apply the discount to any hotel with any availability. So when she said "last room" she meant "last room." Still I'm going to see if she can do anything because this was clearly her mistake (or a Disney computer mistake). I am just hoping that she makes it in to work today. She sounded horrible on the phone yesterday. If she doesn't call me by lunchtime, I am going to call in and see if she even made it.

So glad to hear the good news on the scan! My mother had lung cancer a couple years back and that was a really scary time for us. You definitely deserve a celebration! I'll keep thinking good thoughts for you and your recovery.

And of course, that you get a great room view!!

Thanks everybody. If anybody is there from Feb. 21 to Feb. 28, I will be the lady without much hair. I may be wearing a white swim cap and will probably have a hat and clothing on anytime in the sun.

Fingers crossed. Finally got a call back from someone who works with the agent I have been dealing with. As suspected, she is out sick today (she sounded horrid yesterday). They are supposedly changing it to garden view. Just waiting for my confirmation email.

Fingers crossed for you- let us know when you get the good news about your room.

Hi all! I am thinking about changing my reservation to concierge level. I was wondering if anyone knew the difference between the deluxe rooms vs. reg. club level rooms. I was wondering if the size of the room is different between club levels? Does anyone have a picture? Thank you !:)

I believe the club level rooms are about the same size as the standard rooms at the resort. The deluxe rooms are much larger.

As Teena indicates- there is a lot of info on the first page of this thread (under the Beach Club and the Yacht Club subsections). I have also started a Deluxe Room thread, with some photos, that you can link to from that page.

Hope that helps.

Haven't gotten confirmation email yet (it took a couple of hours yesterday so must just be a slow system). However, it is showing correctly on the website now so I think everything will be okay. Thanks for the crossed fingers:)

I went and re-booked my trip ( this is the 3rd time):). I should say changed it. I did go for the Deluxe room club level. How is club level? I have been reading a few negative reports. I really wanted the room because I am traveling 3 college kids over the age of 21 and my husband. The extra room will be nice. Thank you Teena and Natebenna, I took a look at information.

Best of luck to you, you deserve the trip of your dreams!!! Feel better soon :)

I'll have more pics to add in March if you want them!

Finally got the correct confirmation email. Yahoo - garden view. Even if we are blocked by trees (which my hubbie will like anyway), I don't care because I won't be looking at a parking lot!

Thanks for all of your support.

Yep no difference in Club vs. Standard room unless it is a Deluxe which then does not promise you to be on the club floor and that bugs me. I wouldn't stay deluxe sized room for that reason. I need to be on the club floor.

Lol! Wow just wow!! :dance3::rolleyes1:eek:

Is there anywhere that shows the views for Standard View Club Level? I'm guessing I'm just overlooking it. :D

I am hoping for lots of pixie dust on your trip. You sounds like a very strong woman and I know your time at WDW will be magical! :tinker: Big hugs to you!

None of the six deluxe rooms are on the fifth floor. However, to me the walk to the elevators to get to the lounge on the fifth floor is not bad and the extra room you get in the deluxe rooms is well worth it if you have a large family.
