I'm not even classed as a "veteran" and my friends and family already think I'm a Disney nut! Can't imagine what they'll be saying when/if I ever hit 10,000!

Still looking for that post where the guy lay down on the floor with his kid in the Cali Grill to get him to sleep. Can anyone help a nosy, judgmental person out???? LMAO

That one had me going. Can you say "entitlement"? And the kid is 5 and has been 6 times already? I'm 41 and haven't even been 6 times yet. I think this next trip will be 6 and that's with 2 times of just going for the day when visiting a friend who lived in Orlando. I think Disney needs to do something for me to make me happy since I've missed out on so much.

My kids have been very lucky - this is their 14th trip in 9 years and I'd be livid if they ever acted disappointed when they were going to Disney.

This year we thought we were going to have to stay at the Dolphin for the whole trip instead of BC. Now we love BC. We have stayed at BC, YC, the GF and the Poly and hands down BC is our favorite. We even preferred BC over GF RPC! Now of course we were sad that we weren't going to BC but we were still thrilled to be going to Disney. Luckily we were able to fit BC into our budget again but I think I woud have cancelled the whole trip if any of them threw a fit - much less for an UPGRADE!!!!!!

The first year I was on the boards my family (especially DH) thought I was nuts!!!! Once he realized that I knew about all the "codes" and "AP discounts" suddenly he didn't mind me being on the boards so much!

And I was excited when I hit 6,000 the other day. Apparently I'm still practically a rookie - 10,000 is like Elite status.

I think when you hit 6,000 you only get a toaster

Check the prize closet and see what's left. I think I saw a Snuggie in there the other day.... it was a leopard print too!

I hope you didn't take offense at my comment. If you can take your kids yearly or even more, that is great! And I envy you. But I know that there are people who go all the time who still have taught their kids that it's always a treat and they just love going. We never went as kids because my parents had no interest. I was 30 the first time I visited. We would definitely be back every year if we could, but just the way she said it rubbed me the wrong way, as though she were entitled and since she's been so many times in her young life, there's nothing else to get excited about except the thought of sleeping in a Royal Room. I don't know about you, but my eyes are closed when I'm sleeping and I can't see what the room looks like anyway. :rotfl:

I was thinking of Queen of the Beach Club - and then I remembered - we already have a Queen - Teena. Can I be a BC Princess????

Tara I think you might definitely be a BC Convert and will be joining our cult for the long haul!!!!

I think I am a BC convert. I know I am! 2 trips there within 2 weeks means something, doesn't it LOL?!?! My goal is to stay at every WDW resort but I keep going back to my faves - Kidani/AKL and Swan/Dolphin - but seriously, I think BC is going to be my new favorite. I'm trying Poly for the 1st time too on the next trip, I'm hoping to fall in love with that as well. The Poly thread is hitting every nerve right now though due to a certain poster who has to open his mouth every 10 seconds, so I've been staying away. I love the peeps on the S/D thread, but that thread has always been pretty dry & factual.

My 1st trip with my friends, I'll be checking in on a Sunday morning - so hopefully I'll get to meet Teena!! The 2nd trip with family, we're staying one night at The Dolphin (DH is there for a conference the whole week prior to the boys & I going - they can't miss more school or we'd be with him longer!) - then walking over to BC on a Friday morning to check in. I'll take the boys to meet Teena & check out her pins that Sunday or Monday if she's working. I can't wait!

Where is Hanmilton Sq, NJ? Hey MM - everytime I see your screen name I think of work (thanks, thanks a lot). I work retail & our disctrict used to have the Marlton store in it. Then they re-aligned everyone & the Marlton store went to the NYC district. So there- we have a connection, um, maybe? I don't even know where Marlton is, but it must be within 90 min. of me, our DM drove back & forth there all the time.

No offense taken at all!
I was just saying that even if families are able to do a lot of trips no one should ever feel "entitled". How sad is it that Disney magic has to depend on a royal room?

In 2008 we took all our children, grandchildren and my Mom to Disney. This was the only trip to Disney that my grandchildren have ever been on. Of course they loved BC - but I can guarantee you they would have had a fantastic time if we had stayed at the All Stars. It was Disney!

Hamilton Square is dead central NJ. We are around the Princeton/Lawrenceville area.

I think of Marlton Mom every time we go to Sahara Sam's Waterpark and I see the signs for Marlton.

That's so funny!! DH used to always tease me about being on "the Boards". Then I got us an awesome discount 2 years in a row................this morning the first thing he asked me was "have you gotten a PIN yet?"

I am right off of route 73 about 3-4 miles north of Sahara Sam's. My house is right at the border where Cherry Hill, Voorhees and Marlton intersect. That should be plenty of clues. Look for the above ground pool.

I have a NJ connection. Hubby was born and raised there (Bloomfield). His parents were living in Nutley up until last year when they retired and moved "down the shore" to Toms River. His half-siblings all live in Northern Jersey, but I can't remember all the towns. His niece with the adorable new baby is in Hawthorne - that much I do remember.

And my sister's ex (father of her children) is from the Toms River area too.

This is how I'll get to 10,000 posts...I'll double up everything. LOL

Looks like the BC Hater is after me on the BC/BWI pool thread.

Imagine my nerve in mentioning the beach/campfire/movie at BC!!!!

I knew the NJ people were troublemakers...that's why I married one. :rotfl:

sooo....I went and read the pool thread. So glad I picked BC. All those pics of Stormalong Bay have me so excited! I can't wait!

...and ITA about the complaining upgrade people. My kids are just excited to be able to go to Disney - they have worked hard to save their spending money and agreed to a lower-key Christmas this past year in order to make it happen.

hat are in a few of the rooms of the Yacht Club that overlook the SAB. Apparently the pipes busted and they are having trouble finding the leaks. The rooms are currently are out of use right now, and they have walls up around small parts of the pool near the hottub next to Beaches and Cream.

I can only imagine what a nightmare this would be, but if it's the only way to get the problem under control they will have to.

Of course the CM did say that this is the worst case scenario, and the information is from a CM that probably shouldn't be sharing the info in the first place, so take it for what it's worth.

This doesn't shock me at all, unfortunately... we had a feeling our plumbing "issue" was a bit more than just a clog. Toilets clog and overflow. They typically don't overflow for 10 straight minutes though.:rotfl2:

I do really hope this doesn't mean any kind of shut down of SAB, but if it is, hopefully it would only be a small portion. The hotel is about 20 years old now, right?

You all have provided so much entertainment over the past few days.... I might have to go read the Poly thread now just to see what "Leisure Suit Larry" is up to.

Thank you, dearest BC/YC for being the most bestest group ever. (grammar in context):grouphug:

I promise my CR and BWI upcoming stays have nothing at all to do with a lack of phonebooks!:lmao:

Oh!oh!oh! I gotta go read that thread now! :hyper:

OH.MY.GOD! THAT LEISURE SUIT!!!!!!

I have to tell you ladies, first thing that came to my mind was the movie with Burt Reynolds and Markie Mark Walberg, uh, was it "Boogie Nights?"
