Teena, you must have felt so bad for that family!!!

when I talk to friends who are planning trips to WDW and have never been, I have to usually bite my tongue....or else I give them information overload!!!

first timers really have NO idea how much there is to see and do there.

guess that's why it never seems OLD to us.

*check out that ticker folks, it's getting closer and closer!!*

I'm always cautious with travel agents. I went to a AAA office once to speak to them about the first Disney trip that hubby and I were planning and I knew more than they did. I couldn't wait to get out of there. When someone referred me to the one I use now and several other people also recommended her, I knew I'd be safe. She really knows her stuff when it comes to Disney, and I think that's very important.

Yeah thats what I was thinking, I want to get a travel agent that knows as much as I do at least. I get pretty obsessed with Disney and always read the guides and everything. The only reason I wanted travel agent this time is to take care of the things that are a hassle. With school, work, and getting married I didn't want to have to worry about ADRs. The travel ageny I'm looking at came recommended from a few Disney fans on twitter so I'll check it out.

Speaking of ADRs, I haven't been to any of the restaurants in the Beach and Yacht Club resort area. I know I really want to go to Cape May, that one looks like a great time and a great selection of food. I also wanted to try the Big River Grille and Brew works over at Boardwalk. My fiancee is the pickiest eater on the planet and she didn't like the menu at Yachtsman Steakhouse because she didn't think she'd like anything. Anyone know if they just have like a hamburger or something thats not on the menu? haha

Hi everyone. Just wanted to let you know, we tried to pick up the noodle family today and they werent able to locate them for us. They did find two loose noodles laying aroind in the back (a red one and a blue one). The guy i was dealing with knew exactly what i was looking for but just couldnt find them. I will check over at the YC in a bit to see if they turn up there. In the meantime, i will check the red and blue noodles back in under mrs. Noodle at the end of our trip.

Oh, no, Tisha!:scared1:
Thanks for posting this and if you find anything else, let us know!

We're on the single digit countdown! :dance3:

I deal all day with guests that booked with travel agents that really messed them up. The other day a guest came in, mother, father and 3 children under the age of 10, never been to Disney World. Their travel agent told them they only needed to come for four days ... that's all it took to see everything. The first day they arrived at 4 PM. They were sold the deluxe dining plan. Are you kidding me? And the travel agent never told them to make dining reservations. First, they will spend most of their 4 days eating if they find somewhere to eat and second, they had no idea we even had SAB. When the kids saw that, they didn't even want to go to the park.

Anyway, a good Disney travel agent is a must unless you book direct with Disney yourself. I send people to Fred Wagenmann at Seize The Day Travel. He knows Disney as well as I do and the best thing about him is that if you book something nine, twelve, or two years in advance, the second a discount comes out for the time you are going, he'll call you and change your reservation to get you the discount even though it means less commission for him. So many people I've sent to him have sent their friends to him ... he is amazing. If anybody wants a good Disney travel agent, his number is 717-805-6113.

Cool thanks, I'll check that out. I'm taking all suggestions! Also, thats a horrible story. 4 days for a family vacation to WDW is a squeeze, if trying to see everything its impossible. We are going to stay for a week and I think we might do the deluxe plan. Mostly just so we can relax and not worry about credits and everything. Thats the most difficult decision for me so far though, which dining plan select. After I pick that dining should be fun, there are so many options in that resort area!

I checked the YC and didnt find them there either. Is it possible that someone put them under a different name? If anyone can think of another place to check or a different name they could be under please let me know

We went during Easter weekend in 2004 and it was not bad at all. We did spend Easter Day in Epcot and mostly just did attractions rather than rides, but honestly, we didn't think it was crazy busy! Not sure if crowds have picked up a lot more over the years. But even the days before and after were not bad. But, we do tend to go more in the morning and evening hours.

333disneymom, thanks so much for the encouragement! Over the past two years (March and July in 2010; January, February, May and August in 2011) we've felt like the crowds have been increasing - but maybe our tolerance for crowds is just decreasing! (We were just in DL last week, and it seemed busier than our last visit in the summer!) We'll have APs again next month, so it will be nice to spend mornings in the parks, afternoons at the pool and evenings at Epcot and not feel like we are missing anything!

Looong time lurker coming out of hiding to celebrate! We rented DVC points from DH's friend and were originally told BC studio villas were all booked so we booked at AKV-Kidani and while I am sure it is wonderful there I had my heart set on BC especially for Stormalong Bay for my 5 yo (his first trip and it is a surprise!!!). So we put ourselves on the waiting list at BC, fingers crossed and DH's friend telling us that he does not have a lot of luck with waiting lists. Today DH got an email saying our ressies (May 20-24 2012) have been changed to BCV!!!!! :cool1: YIPPY! Just wanted to thank all you wonderful disboarders for all the AWEsome info (the reason I never really needed to come out of lurkdom... the answers were always there, sometimes before I even had the question!). Btw this resort thread has to be one of the most organized, warm and welcoming threads here! Thanks to you all!!!

So happy for you. See you in May!

I'm wondering if some one who is not on the list has them now..... We may very well have a noodle murder mystery on our hands! This is worse than when Pastina dissapeared in a tragic love bug accident....

I'm amazed that the noodle family lasted this long! :lmao: I think when I first read up about the noodle swap it wasn't expected to last beyond the end of 2011. I hoped that it would keep going until our trip though!

I hope they haven't been noodle-napped! Wow - we loved those noodles and were so thankful to Marlton Mom for all the fun she helped to create and to Dee for maintaining the exchange list! Hoping the noodles find their way back "home" soon!

I looked on line for clues and they only thing I could find was that it is a very busy season for WDW with various spring breaks happening in addition to the usual convention traffic. So I don't think it's a special event per se, I think it's just high season volume. Good luck with your plans. The conventional wisdom is to keep calling a couple of times a day to get that opening that may pop up from time to time.

~Marlton Mom

Thanks, right now we are booked at CBR for the first night before moving to YC the next day. Not a major problem but I will keep calling to see if things change. :)

I am trying to talk my finances into another BC trip dec 9th. Hubby and dear son are sold so if things work out hopefully we will be back and the noodles will resurface by then. In the mean time I think perhaps we should put MISSING posters all around the resort. We also need to check and make sure the Clown slide has an alibi. As far as I'm concerned that Clown is "a slide of interest" in the dissapearence of the noodles. Then there is the canundrum about how much of a reward we should offer and whether or not the story should run on "America's Most wanted". Do they even do missing and exploited pool noodles? Finally there should be a grass roots effort to get a picture of the missing noodle family on milk cartons across north America and um.... Brazil!

It all depends on the time of day rather than off season or busy season. For example, if it is the beginning and end of day, the buses probably will be just Yacht and Beach. However, during the middle of the day (when there are very few people using the buses because they are already at the parks) sometimes the bus will stop at all the resorts around the lake. Same thing over at the resorts around Magic Kingdom.

Parking at some of the resorts is a real pain unless you valet (which can get real expensive). For example, the parking lot at the Grand is really far away.

On days you are eating dinner at the MK area resorts, I would plan on spending the afternoon at MK. Lots of guests that are spending the afternoon at the pool and have dinner reservations at other resorts take the boat over to the Studios and then hop on the bus that goes right to the resort where they have dinner reservations.

Thanks Teena. The information is much appreciated. We can use our TIW to valet park at the MK resorts, but I hadn't thought about catching a bus at the Studios. Perhaps I will try it without the rental car and save some $$ for B&C treats!! My niece and nephew will be all over that Kitchen Sink if they catch wind of it.

Sorry they've disappeared on you!
Do you want to see if we can leave any survivors with the CM's in the CL? (we check in there evening of the 10th) lmk and I'll PM the name we're checked in under.

Lulusmom - I'll give you a heads up should this be a serial noodle killing.

I don't think that's a good idea leaving them with the CL CMs because they rotate the CMs from one side to the other and from up on five to down at the lobby concierge desk plus we really don't have any place to securely store anything up on five. Really, the only place to leave them is with Bell Services and the Bell CMs don't mind ... especially since they are usually getting tips when people leave them and pick them up.

Bell services didn't happen to see any big 'ol clown shoe foot prints at the scene of the crime, did they??

Speaking of Tips maybe we should set up a "tip line" where people can call with information concerning the disappearance of the Noodles. Say Teena, do you still have that cell phone??? :rotfl2: :rotfl: :lmao:
