MM: Have a great trip!!! Tell the celebrity guest hello from Ocalla!!

Wish it were me leaving on Monday.....................

Can't wait to see your pics. :thumbsup2

I have heard on the boards that the boat needed to be refurbished and that it was too expensive so it wasn't coming back. I have also seen it speculated that they wanted the room for more merchandise.

WTH??? It's not like the boat needs to be seaworthy or anything!

What did I win?

Coincidentally, a shrimp fork!!!

Also I will be making an appearance THIS MONDAY NIGHT    at The Captain's Grille for dinner with a celebrity/ mystery guest from these very boards :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo:.

Have a fantastic visit and a spectacular trip! I'll be with you in spirit. Well, maybe not at 3 am in front of the castle, but for the rest of the time.

nannette How is your tootsie feeling (I haven't been here for awhile)?

I am still broken... I was with the Dr. 2 weeks ago today and he sent me for an xray... At that time I was about 2/3 healed. It has been 10 weeks... I see him in 2 weeks he said we'll see where I am then, but I may require surgery... This surgery that he talks of WILL NOT take place until after April... My Disney/Spring Training Trip is 3 weeks away and I have a trip to Texas to see DD planned for late April... Yankees are playing Texas!! Thanks for asking! Happy planning!!

It has come to my attention that Mickey and the skiff Ariel may be missing from Fittings & Fairings, the Yacht Club gift shop:

Can someone who has been to the resort recently, or who is going soon, please confirm or deny this situation?

Bonus points if you can find out if he is coming back...

Thanks!

Dee

If MM doesn't get the scoop, someone remind me! I think you also requested a picture of the current BB offer..anything else? 11 more days!

Thanks! I actually did get a photo of the BB offer yesterday- it is posted a page or two back, so I am all set there.

Commence to enjoying your vacation without any tasks.

Yet.

Wait.

I am still looking for someone to time the lazy river. IF and only IF you are planning on going in the river, I am curious how long it takes to make one complete circuit, with minimum propulsion. This is by no means a crucial piece of information, just something that I think would be interesting to know.

If you don't have a chance to do this, no big. There's lots of time as summer approaches for future guests to check this out.

Thanks!

Dee

Marlton Mom - Very Important Mission for you!!!!

There is a rumor that the famous key lime pie is back at the Captain's Grille.

Please, please, please can you check that out for me?

I'll bet I know who your celebrity guest is - have a fantastic time!!!!

I can't believe the boat is gone from the YC Gift Shop - I thought that was so cute.

I'm sure MM would be glad to check on that for you, but don't ask her to take a picture!

She's like this anti-food-porn-crusader-trying-to-put-fp-loving-people-like-me-out-of-business!!!

So we will all just have to settle for the information without photographic corroboration.

:scared1: She's taking more camera equipment than Ansel Adams and she doesn't do food porn? Now that is just wrong. I was looking forward to some CG porn since she was the one who made me salivate over the possibility of lobster sliders when I mentioned it might be added to our list and now she won't even take a photo? That's just :sad2:

PSST... Kid... I don't traffic in lobster sliders, but I can hook you up with a peek at a NY Strip Steak, a Grilled Ribeye and some Crab Legs.

EPCOT and Captain’s Grille

Oh, and a pretty risque photo of the key lime pie.

Oh dear God the woman's gone off the deep end... err I mean she's gone around the bend... um, she's losing her noodle, oh! never mind, you know what I mean!!!

At the church that I worship at, St. Mattress, the minister often mentions the missing 11th commandment, "Thou shall not make graven images of yer supper". Since we all know Marlton Mom lives to follow the rules I would NEVER engage in Food Porn lest Julia Child herself smite me for my sins. Come to think of it, my line for smiting is pretty long so she'll have to get in line behind everybody else that's trying to catch up with me!

:scared1: She's taking more camera equipment than Ansel Adams and she doesn't do food porn?

This made me really laugh. If, and I'm only saying if, Ansel did do food porn, it would be in all black and white, negating the lusciousness completely!

Here is my line up for Monday night dinner:
To start: New England Clam Chowder
followed by: Market Fish OR Lump Crab Cakes depending on my mood
ending with: the Hazelnut Gianduja Chocolate Cake.
... and yes I can hear all of you SCREAMING in agony!

I do see the Key Lime Tart - with whipped cream and a macaroon $5.49 is back on the menu as listed by that site with all the ears. Alas, since I make my own key lime contraption (of which I've shared the recipe in a previous version of this thread!) I shall not indulge.

Any chance at food porn will probably be hindered by said mystery guest, who has been known to half way finish a meal before remembering to take a picture of it. There is nothing sadder than filet mignon, sitting on a plate with teeth marks all over it!

May 28th-Jun 1st YC GV CL (2 rooms) coming from Pop century :woohoo:

Welcome Back, pas!!! :) Always so happy to see you here (even though you know I love all your choices!) I'll report back on YC when we return in April!

Good news on the KLP! I asked lots of KLP questions at Captain's Grille last year, and I'm sure the CMs thought I was pretty crazy. Well, no crazier than taking all those BC Marketplace photos (or the photo of the SAB lockers.)

Hope you have a wonderful trip and can't wait to hear about it!

Dee: I showed hubby the crab legs photo and all he could say was "Ooooh". I think he approves.

MM: I'm a big fan of Key Lime, but never made it myself. Would love that recipe if you're in the sharing mood.

 Trip before surgery...most definitely!!! Good luck at your next visit. Thanks for the update, you were doing so well resting it last we chatted, sorry it is still broken :flower3:

Welcome Back, pas!!! :) Always so happy to see you here (even though you know I love all your choices!) I'll report back on YC when we return in April!

We are DEFINITELY staying on Cresent Lake...I really am drawn to the balcony guarantee. And the YC was good to us in November :cloud9: Nice to see you!!!

Thank you MM! We can make a two family trip work. I know we tour similar (since I helped her plan her first trip :cool1:) our biggest issue is they love the values so if they decide to come, they will be at Movies making pool time impossible. We will figure it out though!

Now next question--Pixarmom (and others) have made me feel better about doing a signature. We are booked for Father's Day at Yachtsman but the reviews are not very good. We have a Ruth's Chris close by so we can get that kind of dining experience at home. Is Flying Fish a better choice? Any other favorites close to BC?

WsPrincess, I missed this post earlier, but wanted to throw in my two cents. Of the signatures in the Epcot resorts area, we've been to Yachtsman, Flying Fish, Bluezoo and Il Mulino. We haven't done Shula's at Disney, but we've enjoyed the Chicago location. And all with kids. I'd choose Yachtsman!

I really love the menu at Flying Fish (I prefer that menu over the Yachtsman menu) but the fact that it's bright and a little loud actually works against us - our youngest isn't as calm as at other signatures! And this is entirely hit or miss, but our server at Flying Fish in August wasn't as friendly with the kids as at most signatures.

We love the atmosphere at Yachtsman - so calm and cozy. The food is good, service is friendly and it's just so convenient. I'm not suggesting this is the best steak ever, but for the combination of food, atmosphere and service, we love it. It's really at the top of our list and a great choice for a Father's Day dinner!

Hello :goodvibes

We're planning our next trip and contemplating the BC! I had a question about the refrigerator. How big is it? We're planning to store a couple of things and want to be sure it'll hold it.

Also, where in relation to the BC is Kouzzina located? Thanks!

The fridge is not big enough to hold a body or anything but you could fit a half a gallon of milk and a half a gallon of juice in there with about five or six water bottles, no problem. The doors are only good for holding water bottles or cans of soda and when you open the fridge do so slowly because they like to flop out. There is no freezer but I've found that you can jack up the temperature and get water bottles to freeze over night. One morning my husband had a left over "steak-cicle" for breakfast, and being a man, he refused to walk down to the Marketplace and ask to use the microwave. :rolleyes1

Kouzinna is almost opposite the Yacht Club/ Beach Club boat dock and about a 10 -15 minute walk around the lake. Sorry, no swimming so you'll have to hoof it, but it's really no problem. You could take the boat but you'd have to wait for one going the right direction (YC/BC TO BWI) and the whole process would take longer than it would to walk.

Thanks for posting your question and feel free to join us with any other questions that you might have. We are a chatty, friendly bunch and we love it when new people join in the conversation!

:lmao:Ok, I wasn't expecting such a hilarious answer! Thank you! That's exactly the information I was looking for.:goodvibes Well, not the body part of course!

:laughing:Thanks again! I promise not to swim in the lake! Reason I was asking is that on one of our many Epcot mornings, I was thinking we could leave Epcot around 10am and head to Kouzzina for breakfast.

Well, it looks like you're all quite a witty bunch! We really want to stay here for our upcoming trip.:goodvibes:goodvibes

I thought I had a picture of the fridge with a half-gallon of juice/milk in it, but I couldn't find it. This is what I have:
