Add us to the October list! 10/24-10/30 YC CL

Teena, I'm sure we'll come thru the BC lobby to say hello. You've been so helpful on this thread, I can't begin to thank you and Natebenma (and everyone! I love to read all the questions and answers) for all the advice & information.

I'll be there Sunday and Monday and look forward to meeting you!

I'm pretty sure (but Teena can correct me if I'm wrong!) that Beaches and Cream was only open for breakfast on a trial rumm in the summer of 2009.

We were there the first day they opened in July 2009 and we loved it! Unfortunately they discontinued it. This summer they were back to just doing lunch and dinner.

It's a shame because everyone I talked to LOVED the breakfast at B&C!

It was only a trial period ... you are correct. It is not open for breakfast now.

Subscribing to this thread because I just booked the Yacht club for August 2011!!!! Soooo excited!:goodvibes

What is the diff. between BC and YC?

One has Teena on Sunday and Monday, one does not. Other than that, see page one of this thread and you will find a wealth of knowledge that no other resort thread has to share due to the great work of Dee and the other amazing DISers here. (Sorry kldmom2000, I didn't look at your post before responding!)

When we saw you last Sunday, my daughters both said, "She has the longest day on her feet!" :goodvibes

Yep, my feet and lower back are hurting pretty bad by the end of the day but it is by far the best job in the world. I've met so many incredible people and to be able to help guests get the most out of their vacation is a super fun job. I start hitting the Aleve at lunch time and that helps get me through the afternoon. I have a foot massage machine I use every Sunday and Monday night. The few times I've helped out and worked a whole week were killers but Disney is so good to me ... they give me off all the time to visit Jeanne and go on Disney cruises ... there is no way I'm going to say no to them when they need me extra days. I have no idea how Richard does it five days a week. I have heel spurs and they really act up after a full day on my feet. Finding the leather Crocs has helped alot ... they are wonderful!

Teena, your joy for your job comes through even on the internet!
Isn't Aleve great? I just wish they would make it in a slightly different dose so I can more easily take it at the prescription dosage.

This is the second time I am hearing "Aleve" mentioned for foot pain/general body aches! I think I will have to bring some with me.....Does it REALLY help ease foot pain/aches??? I thought it was mostly a back ache medicine. I have plantar facitis that flares up on occasion and I have a feeling with all the extra walking I will be doing, I may have sorer-than-normal feet and legs!

That is the only thing I am not looking forward too!!! (With that said, I think I will start some "disney training" on my new-but-rarely used treadmill that is sitting in the basement right now! (I really have no excuse, it's interesting the things/excuses one can find when lacking the motivation!) I think my upcoming Disney trip is the motivation I need to GET USING IT!! :rotfl:

Are you staying Club Level?? perhaps we'll run into each other when we are there....I'll be picking up my trusty Dis'er pin and would love to say HI to a fellow Diser! Looking forward to our first visit to the BC :cloud9:

Hi Marie! That's an excellent question! Right now, we have a garden view room booked for February with the general public discount. We stayed at BC twice this year (March and July), and we booked a standard room with great AP rates both times. Shortly before our July trip, we decided to switch to CL if the AP rate became available for a CL room. And one night, it did! So I tried to book it, but another lucky AP holder must have had the same idea. Moments after it appeared, it was gone! (We did, however, really enjoy an upgrade to a water view room!)

So I'm waiting to see what happens with the February AP rates. If I find a good deal on a CL room, and our pre-teen boys' appetites continue to increase, we might switch to CL!

@Chimo2u --

My feet are always screaming - I'm a diabetic - and when I know I'm going to be walking a lot - like when I'm at Disney - I always take one or two BEFORE I set off for the day and maybe one at dinner - and my feet rarely ever bother me. And I am a morning to night gal when at WDW!

I hope you get lucky and get a club level room :) There are still great deals with the 40% off room discount during our time frame....I managed to get my room with the discount and add on the dining plan/tickets....thereby making it a package. I had to go the long way through the site though (under special offers) click check for availability and then add on the other components one by one....If I went through the site from the first page and didn't go through special offers, it gave me a quote that was $1,200.00 more for the same components I wanted!!!
If you get a room on CL, perhaps we'll run into each other in the lounge! :)
I will keep my fingers crossed for you! :goodvibes

I am hoping some of you BC Conniseaurs (sp?) can help me! :goodvibes

Original plan for my first day lunch I was going to pay oop for Beaches and Cream burgers for my son and I. However, now I've decided that I will pay out of pocket for Rose and Crown for dinner and hopefully we will get a nice view for illuminations (I know, no guarantees! ;)....just hoping!)

Now I am contemplating having burgers at Hurricane Hannah's as we can use a QS credit there, and later we will try Beaches and Cream for an icecream treat at another time.

Does Hurricane Hannah's have as nice burgers as B&C??? I am really wanting a nice burger after our long flight! Burgers are my son's favourite food, so I am hoping HH's serves a decent one!!
Any reviews??

Unless things have changed, I believe the burgers served at HH are the same as the ones from B&C.

One month from today we will be at the airport waiting for our flight to the YC. :dance3:
