It is still a long trip! I haven't had the nerve to take DD11 overseas yet, but next year we are going to Vancouver to cruise...I cannot imagine trying to keep 3 kids on the path through that much airport/travel. Travel safe and maybe our kids will find each other out at Stormalong Bay.

Thanks, I'm sure we will be at SAB often so might see you, if you hear a scottish accent and i have 2 boys and a girl with me come over and say hi

Glad you had such a great trip Jill....super cool on your upgrade. I am under the two week mark...I am so excited about my first Beach Club stay :cool1:

Congrats on your upgrade Cindy...sounds like you had a fabulous trip :thumbsup2

Back from a wonderful stay from BC 9/25 to 10/1.....we were upgraded to CL which was a fantastic surprise!!! The weather was hot, but bearable, little rain except for one afternoon of downpours when we were at HS. Spent 3 afternoons enjoying SAB.....kids loved the sand and the slides! The beds were so comfortable....we were absolutely tuckered out every night and asleep before 10 pm (wish that happened at home!).

Teena---I hope you're feeling better and maybe we'll get to meet up next time! Hope you have a great trip to see your daughter!

I have to go back to work this afternoon, so it's back to reality with a bang....especially since we came home to 50 degree temps.....yuck!

DH wants to do the Disney Dream next year......now I just have to convince him to add a few days at BC to the itinerary!

Cindy

I'm certain that we will be at the pool most of the afternoon on Saturday and a good portion of the day Sunday (BC is our relaxing part of the trip and we just take time to enjoy the resort when we are there). She would love to have someone to swim and do the slide with. Look for a blonde girl who has her own clear swim ring and I'll tell her to keep her ears open for the scottish accents!

What's a special YC/BC dis pin...I think I missed something here

So sorry to hear you missed out on this Bzzelady. There has been a special "pin" made for the YC/BC DISers (see picture at beginning of this thread). To get one all you have to do is PM Teena (our "special friend") who will leave one at the front desk for you to pick up when you check in. Too late now for those going this weekend or next (with Teena being in Las Vegas visiting her daughter) but if you are going later this month or in November, and you want one, just PM TeenaS and she'll get it there for you. For those going in December, Teena has suggested not waiting too long to let her know you want it. Just PM her with the name the reservation is in, the resort you are staying at, the date of arrival, and how many pins you need. She'll leave the pin for you when she is there working. When you check in, just tell the person at the desk a "special friend" left you an envelope and they'll find it for you. I'll be wearing mine with pride the week I'm there.

Neat! I missed the beginning of the new 2010 thread and just skipped to the current chatter a couple of weeks ago when I confirmed my weekend stay at the BC. Maybe next time around...until then I have my lime green Mickey head pinned to my backpack/DVC canvas bag ;)

My question. Does anyone (Teena?) know where were could write, email or call to complain about this. I don't think we are a minority. May could even post out on the Resort board so others could see. I would definitive like my feelings to be heard.

The best place for this would be at the survey they take in the lobby for those checking out. I did take the survey, I did mention this as my #1, and the woman overseeing the survey said I was not alone in this disappointment.

Having already come home, this option doesn't help you, so the next best thing would be to write a letter (NOT an email) to WDW Guest Communications and express your disappointment. That's the "PO Box 10000" address that I'm sure is easy to find somewhere on the DIS, or for sure can be found at AllEars.

One suggestion is to not word such a letter as a "complaint", but rather as a "disappointment", and expressing a "hope that this merchandise will reappear in the future". Any time you're trying to get a large company (or just about anyone, really) to change the way they're doing something, the tone of your letter can make all the difference in the world.

Thanks! Did not get a check out survey in July.....would love to tell them how much we love the BC and it's outstanding service. And disappointment would be absolute correct term.

And a good old fashion snail mail will go out this week. (With my disappointment at not being able to spend more money!):flower3:

Getting ready to book our summer trip! It looks like we'll be at BC July 16-August 1. Then we're going to Hilton Head for four nights to relax.

We're driving this year - so no airline drama.

How sick is it that just booking the reservation can get me so excited? It's cold, damp and dreary here in NJ. I am soooo missing the hot July/August days in SAB!

I'd love to get a 40% pin but no luck so far. Hope we get a nice AP rate again - we are hooked on BC CL!

Just got back from a 09/28 thru 10/04 stay at the Yacht Club.

What a great vacation! This trip was for my 60th birthday and our 16th anniversary.
My DP surprised me with first class airline tickets. What a treat, lots of room, real food on real dishes and unending champagne.

Magical Express whisked us away to the world after a short wait. There were only a few people on the bus.

We were met at the front entrance and escorted up to CL where during check in we heard the magical words, "I HAVE SOME GOOD NEWS FOR YOU".

The CM said, "we are upgrading you to a suite".

I said " but we are already in a Jr. suite".

The CM said, "you don't understand, we are upgrading you to a two bedroom Turret suite".

I said "I don't understand what that is".

He said "follow me".

He led us to the elevator, took us to the second floor made a left down to the end of the hall, opened the door and I almost fainted on the spot!

We were in a hallway that led to a huge suite with two bedrooms and a living room through french doors.
The suite is located in the turret that looks like a lighthouse on the right side of the main walkway out of the back of the Yacht Club lobby.

We had views of SAB, The Board Walk, The Swan and The Dolphin and the Eiffel Tower in France.

Two bedrooms with two king beds each.
Two bathrooms.
Three TVs.
Three refrigerator's.
and a microwave in a pear tree.

Well this was the beginning of a dream vacation where nothing went wrong.
Where we had great service from all CMs.
Where we tried wonderful new restaurants, incredible new food.
Where we had great weather and where we had to keep pinching ourselves.

Much more to tell if you are interested, we still are not home in Santa Fe so just time for this little blurb.
I just had to get it onto the board as soon as I could.

Yes Folks there Is still MAGIC AT THE YACHT AND BEACH CLUBS!

WOW!!! Now that is cool!! I honestly didn't think there was an upgrade from CL... Glad you had such a fabulous 60th!! Safe trip home.

I think Teena said that the survey CM's are in the lobby until a quota has been reached. It is a percentage of the rooms checking out that day. Depending upon how it goes, they can be done quite early, but are sometimes there until at least 11am. I believe I'm recalling all this correctly.

And...WOW, what an upgrade!

Wow...congrats on your upgrade!
I hope one day just to see one of those (I don't even have to stay in in...I just want to see one!).
Glad to hear you had such a nice trip :)

Trebor218: Wow! Just Wow! That's awesome!
When you get home, we would LOVE to see some pictures!!!

Wow! Wow! Wow!!! I can't wait to hear more and to see pics!!! Congrats to you all!!!!

Wow...more disboards people :yay:

Tyme4wdw,

We will be driving right through your home town of Winchester on Friday afternoon...at rush hour :(
(wish us luck!)

Winchester shouldn't be too bad. Most will be traveling on 7, 50 and 66 into Winchester instead of 81. You should and I say SHOULD be fine. The real hangup's will be through Martinsburg, WV area.

Are you taking 81 down through NC? That's faster than hooking over to 95.

I know several of these are underway now and others very soon! All pretty spread out though with only 2, 3 or 4 there at any one time, making it a bit harder to plan meet ups. Do look for each other though!
