Back from a wonderful stay from BC 9/25 to 10/1.....we were upgraded to CL which was a fantastic surprise!!! The weather was hot, but bearable, little rain except for one afternoon of downpours when we were at HS. Spent 3 afternoons enjoying SAB.....kids loved the sand and the slides! The beds were so comfortable....we were absolutely tuckered out every night and asleep before 10 pm (wish that happened at home!).

Cindy

So glad you had a wonderful trip!!!

I've missed this thread for a few days, and I'm just catching up this morning!

1) Natebenma - enjoy your D.C. trip!!!

Also, it's pretty amazing that someone can ask about the BC fridge, and you can produce a picture of that fridge!

Some might say amazing, others might say "scary". I take A LOT of pictures on trips.

Thanks for the good wishes about the trip and for the tips!!!

Just found out our good friends are "tagging along" with us for December- they also booked CL at BC! Our children are the same ages and we are hoping to surprise them! Now we won't have to put the kids in Sandcastle the night DH and I celebrate our anniversary at V&A, and we will watch our friends' children one night when they have an evening to themselves.

How great! Nothing like built in babysitters/friends for your kids!

My family will be staying at Beach Club Villas in a one bedroom over spring break. Its my husband, myself and our two kids (ages 11 and 8). Last time we came to Disney was in 2009 and we stayed in a one bedroom in Animal Kingdom Kidani. The room was amazing as well as the resort. The only major drawback was how far it was from everything. This is why we picked Beach Club and its closeness to Epcot and Hollywood Studios. I have a few questions below that I am hoping someone can answer.

1. I know the views are not great but whats the best room that gets the best view for Epcots Illuminations?
2. I hear you can get Beaches and Creams cheesburgers at Hurricane Hannahs grill, is this true?
3. Is the walk from BCV far to Hollywood Studios?
4. Animal Kingdom had a pull out chair in the living room, does BCV have one too?

. . . . On past trips I usually get a resort logo'ed t-shirt and maybe a golf shirt. I have heard from a Dis'er or two that the store in the BC hasn't got much of this sort of thing, can you check for me?

HB

I've been back from my trip for about ten days now, and I can tell you that there is next to no traditional resort logo merchandise left at either the BC or the YC.

For years, I collected WDW resort logo caps and (ceramic) mugs, and it's almost vanished. It seems that the only places still holding up the tradition are the Polynesian (no surprise there) and the Wilderness Lodge. Even the Contemporary seems to have given up. (I did not check at AK Lodge - they may still have some.)

Sad - that's all I can say about that one.

You sure can.

I saw that cigar95 has answered this...with sad news. :sad1: There hasn't been any Y&BC logo merchandise the last couple trips we've made. Such a shame. My DH and two sons have polo style shirts with BCV on them which we treasure. Hanging on to those!

1. I would just request view of Illuminations and leave it at that. We've had villas with that view from the 2nd to the 5th floor and it doesn't make much difference. You can only see some of the higher effects whichever floor you're on.

2. Tis true. :thumbsup2
3. We either drive to take the ferry but most people say about 20 minutes.
4. No sleeper chair nor second bathroom although it is a split bathroom which helps.

Have fun!

Sad indeed. CRFan reported that the GF is supposed to get some more. Hope so.

Hi Everybody,

We just returned yesterday from our trip 9/25-10/3. It was such a wonderful time. We were upgraded to CL and my family was just thrilled. My kids really loved being CL they felt so spoiled as did I. I think my son had one two many cookies during our stay. The weather was perfect despite a bit hot earlier in the week. We enjoyed the parks early and we were in SAB every afternoon.
The one night we had rain we put the kids in the sandcastle club and my hubby and I went on a resort tour. We went to wilderness, poly, Contemp and GF, and we both decided we would never want to stay anywhere besides the BC.
On our last night we got little sleep due to the cheering out our window for the wine and dine half marathon that lasted until about 1:30am. I didn't really mind because I know I will definitely run a half marathon at Disneyworld one day.

Hope you are feeling better Teena. So sorry to have missed you during our stay. I did meet Richard one morning when I was in the lobby taking pictures.

Teena---I hope you're feeling better and maybe we'll get to meet up next time! Hope you have a great trip to see your daughter!

I have to go back to work this afternoon, so it's back to reality with a bang....especially since we came home to 50 degree temps.....yuck!

DH wants to do the Disney Dream next year......now I just have to convince him to add a few days at BC to the itinerary!

Cindy

Cindy,
I was there the same time and was upgraded as well. I'm sure I bumped into you at some point. I was at SAB every afternoon and was a frequent visitor of the lounge. If you saw a boy with a plate full of cookies that was my son, he was obsessed with those cookies.

Jill,

My kids loved the cookies too! and my mom and DH loved the beer and wine! :rotfl: My daughter was at the lounge a lot with my mom....she's 7 with light brown hair, and I have a 2 year old son.....very, very blonde short hair....we spent a lot of time at the slide in the kiddie pool. He loved it and he loved riding the elevator....if you saw a little boy crying because he didn't get to push the buttons, that was him!

It really spoiled us for our next visit.......I can't imagine not staying CL now. :thumbsup2

I'm glad that you had as great of a trip as we did!

This is one of my disappointments with Disney Marketing lately. Every trip I would buy a resort cap, regular T-shirt and long sleeve T.

My question. Does anyone (Teena?) know where were could write, email or call to complain about this. I don't think we are a minority. May could even post out on the Resort board so others could see. I would definitive like my feelings to be heard.

I'm very disappointed to hear there's no resort specific merchandise :( I brought a fabulous BC resort sweatshirt a few years back which I still wear as it's very pretty, I was hoping to purchase something similar next year.

Ok I have another last minute question :rotfl2:

Am i right in thinking that I read there is an ipod docking station in each of the rooms?

The Ipod docking statioin also has a cable plug in for other MP3 players...I use it with my Phillips GoGear all the time :)

scottishmum,

Looks we will be crossing paths at the BC this weekend-we check in on Saturday morning for a two night club level stay to celebrate my birthday and then move to VWL for the rest of the week for a DVC stay. Have a safe trip (OMG...20 hours :scared1:) and maybe we will cross paths when visiting with Teena in the lobby on Sunday or Monday :)

I am also checking in on Thursday!! YC CL with DD25. I will be posting using my IPad with my own 3G while I'm there when we have some down time.
We have a really busy schedule with all the food and wine things I've booked. Thursday arrival day is a down day with MNSSHP that evening. If anyone has any questions post them here and I'll answer when I check in.

Everyone going soon... safe trip. I have my special YC/BC dis pin as well so say hello if you see me!

Thanks everyone,

Our flight to Orlando is actually only 9 hrs on Thursday but tomorrow we have a 2 1/2 hr flight to get to London to fly over to Florida. By the time we check in and get through security etc to the time we get to the beach club it will be 20 hrs. Not looking forward to the travelling but so worth it to get to Disney.

maybe see you all there

It is still a long trip! I haven't had the nerve to take DD11 overseas yet, but next year we are going to Vancouver to cruise...I cannot imagine trying to keep 3 kids on the path through that much airport/travel. Travel safe and maybe our kids will find each other out at Stormalong Bay.
