My hubby and I will be at BC the week before Thanksgiving and I upgraded to a water view room today using the 40% code. I was looking at this chart

http://www.disneyzone.net/ResortMaps/bcfourthfloor.jpg

At the bottom left it says "All rooms in the front of the water view wings have full balconies" but if you read all the little notes, it doesn’t appear this way. Can anyone clear this up?

We go every year and every year we ask for a good view and never get it LOL - This year I'd like to go with a list of a few rooms I can specifically ask for. We love to sit and have coffee on the balcony in the morning and would like to have a nice view...preferably on the 4th or 5th floor. Any specific room suggestions would be greatly appreciated :)

First of all, forget that map. It's ancient and lots of the descriptions and classifications are totally wrong.

If you booked a water view, you'll have a nice view of either a pool or the lake. If you want a full balcony, that needs to be requested on your reservation.

I strongly suggest that you do not ask for a certain room or even list a few room numbers as a request. The chances of those rooms becoming vacant on the exact date you are checking in is slim. If instead you just request a full balcony, you have a really good chance of getting a full balcony. If you'd like to be on the second floor near the elevators, you can always put "full balcony, second floor, near elevators". Or if you really want a view of SAB and a full balcony, you can put "full balcony, SAB view" as your request. However, the more requests, the less likely you'll get them all, so you should only request what is really really important.

Geez...I wish I had posted before spending an hour trying to make heads or tails of that map LOL

I do know not to have too many requests. That being said, we HAVE to have 2 queen beds (2 adults + 2 adult kids) and my husband and I just can't sleep in a double. I feel like I should ask for '2 queen beds, full balcony'...we would prefer a higher floor but I don't want to push my luck.

Thanks :thumbsup2

We've been at WDW over Christmas including one trip that started at BCV, then GF and finished back at BCV. I would skip traveling to Narcoossee's on Christmas Day unless you will have a car. Even then, it could be a pain. Flying Fish is a great alternative. We loved doing the Candlelight Processional on Christmas Day. We did the dining package which allows you to enter the pavilion ahead of those without tickets. Wonderful experience. BTW, Narcoossee's usually has a special menu with "special" pricing on Christmas Day.

Thank you!!

We do have our car, but I keep thinking it's going to be crazy crowded on the 24th and 25th traffic and parking-wise on those 2 nights. There's a strong part of me that just thinks we should keep our dining plans from the 23-25 to either places around the boardwalk or YC/BC, Epcot, or DHS so we don't have to drive or take a bus anywhere. We love the Flying Fish :)

I wouldn't mind trying Yachtsman again since I haven't had it since our honeymoon 10 years ago, but I really don't want to do that back-to-back with Flying Fish, lol.

What do you, or anyone think about room service on the 24th or 25th? I know it's way pricey, but we're doing the DxDP for the first time and can afford one room service splurge if I plan my credits well :)

Has anyone ever done room service at night at BC/YC? if so, any suggestions?

You don't need to worry about reclassifications of room categories. It doesn't happen until 1/1/11.

If you are booked for a room in November 2010 and you booked a standard room, your view will either be a courtyard, woods, garden, roof or parking lot. You have about a 50/50 chance of getting an okay view versus a yucky view. If the view is important to you (it's not to me since I am only in the room to shower, sleep, change clothes and I close the drapes for that), you may want to consider upgrading your reservation to a waterview. Then you are guaranteed a decent view of water (pool or lake). My advice is to really think about when you will be in the room and whether you will really enjoy a nice view. Is it worth the price difference? In my case I'd rather use that money to eat at Yachtsman or have a massage. For others, they love staring out at the view in the mornings or nights and having a nice drink or something. Everybody is different.

thanks Ms. Teena:hug: I don't really 'have' to have a good view..it would be nice, but not a deal breaker for me! When I really wanted a good balcony view, it was to see Wishes at the CR...so we don't have to have the perfect view. I need the room inside for our family and I love every room we have ever had!! I think my request was near laundry, or quiet pool...something like that. That's good enough for me! I hope you are working the week we come in...we cant wait to meet you!!! We had the privilege of meeting Mr. Art a few years back... he was the sweetest man!!

Can't wait to meet Teena this weekend...we leave tomorrow for our trip. We'll be at the BC after spending 3 nites at BLT. :yay:

Two possibilities for a meet this weekend would be Sat Aug 21 or Sun Aug 22, 5:30 to 6:30. Teena works until 6 PM on both of those days.

Reply to the message if you are pretty sure you would attend if a meet was set up. Please don't respond if you are unable to make it on either of those days. Obviously, even if you are not on the list, you can reply if you would attend.

Deadline to respond: Thursday August 19

For example:

Flat Dee- I would attend either 8/21 or 8/22

JoePoster: Can attend only 8/22.

If there is enough interest (say 4 responses plus Teena) on either of those days, lets set something up.

Here are the positive responses I have so far. If you responded and I missed your input, please let me know.

Teena, either, after 6 PM
KerryCM- either, 8/22 better
scooterpej- either

drmomof3- I believe you had previously indicated that 8/22 might work for you, maybe only until 6? Is that correct? Or are you out?

Anyone else interested?

Seems like a few of us will be there in November. DH and I are at the Yacht Club Nov 17-22.

A few quick questions I hope someone in-the-know can answer ... Does anyone have a current club level menu/guide for the food offerings? Are soda and drinks available 24-hours, or at least during all lounge hours (7 AM-10 PM). I have a diet Coke habit, I admit.

Lastly, are the campfires on the beach all year long? I think my son would really enjoy doing that one night, but we're not coming until December.

OK, I have edited the list for guests who will be there next weekend.

If my memory serves me correctly (which sometimes it doesn't, so maybe someone else will confirm this), Teena said they have removed all the double beds. So, you shouldn't have to worry about requesting 2 queen beds.

One more day!!! I am so looking forward to this trip. Got to get laundry done and packing finished up. I hope we do have a mini-meet. I will check with Teena when I see her in case I don't know when we leave.

I am in Boston on business and also visiting our older DD and my DB and his family. You all have written 10 pages since I left here 36 hours ago. I will never catch up!!

I feel the same way. I've been trying to catch up since yesterday before I post.

Have fun Kerry!!!!! Can't wait to hear about your trip!!!!

Ok. I decided I'll never catch up;) Sorry to everyone for missing the meet. I was SO sad. The first 24 hrs of our BWV stay was a disaster and we did not have access to our room again until 5:00 on the 8th. We ended up arriving at Ohanas 1 hour past our reservation time. Luckily, they were still able to seat us.
We have all agreed that no more BW and its back to BCV next trip.

Teena; I requested the front desk leave you a message that I would be unable to attend. Did you receive it?

So sorry we didn't get to meet.

Teena told us you had sent a message.

What happened at BWV?

Hope you had a great trip!

Hooray! I just got an e-mail letting me know a CL room opened up for our 1st night!!! Now I don't have to switch rooms after 1 night.

What about Teppan Edo at the Japan pavillion or the Captain's Grill at the YC (if you don't want to go to a park the first night). Do that and then go play mini golf.

I just changed more than half my reservations tonight and I am still not happy. Need to discuss with DD who won't even be with us but I know she can come up with a happy plan. I went from being unhappy with 5 reservations to having 3 now and that is because they are alot alike in two days. (Yak & Yeti, Teppan Edo and Nine Dragons). I think Yak and Yeti will go away. Not sure about the other two what other one will go away.

Thanks for the suggestions, I hadn't thought about mini golf.

I hope you get all the reservations you want, Teppan Edo sounds great!

One of the things we love about BC is the proximity to EPCOT and all the great dining options! We really love Garden Grill and our boys love to meet Mickey, Pluto and Chip/Dale the first night (not just our pre-schooler - our pre-teens still love it, too!) Garden Grill is our arrival night tradition - and then we walk around World Showcase (ride Mexico, Norway, etc.) and head back to BC to rest up for the next morning. We like to start our second day at MK fresh in the morning at rope drop! Garden Grill is inside the Land and, therefore, does not have a view of the parks, but is very close and might be a good option to consider.

Good luck with your decision - have a great time!!

Thanks so much, I am getting some great ideas. I had everything planned
out when we booked at AKL back in Jan. and when I changed to BC it really
threw me for a loop! However, after looking at all the pics and reading
this thread I am getting really excited about the change.
